Kaepernick to start on Sunday

As long as YOU don't feel victimized, or hurt, by Kaep's actions, nobody else should either right? Glad you stiched this up so easily, very helpful! -

Gee for nobody being victimized (and I use that term with it's modern definition, which mostly revolves around hurt feelings, not any actual suffering) there sure seems to be a lot of upset people! Its fine if YOU don't think it's a big deal, but you don't get to make that decision for others. Kaep has made his beliefs central to the 49ers story this year, regardless of how you feel about it. Again though, he's free to do that, and he's free to continue his downhill slide as a professional quarterback. If you find his actions admirable, then go on and join his fan club, there's lots of people jumping on his bandwagon -

In the offense culture we live in now, it doesn't matter what your intent is, only that someone feel victimized by it. If someone made a remark that could be taken to be racially disparaging, would anybody care if the speaker was "not trying" to disrespect people of color or whomever the aggrieved party was? Kaep and his supporters don't get to play both sides of that -

Even if I grant you that Kaep is a "Taylor-like" QB (which I only grant for arguments sake, Kaep isn't the same QB he was in 2012, statistically or otherwise), his supporting cast is not the equal of Taylor's. Add that to the fact that Kaep has been riding the pine because he can't beat out a couple scrub tier QBs. We'll see Sunday, but when people are worried about Kaep at QB, they're worried about the 2012 version of Kaep at 230lbs, not the failing to thrive waif-like 2016 version. He'll make a fine Grievance Reporter for ESPN, but I think his NFL days are numbered -

If you don't see the overlap between "Civil Rights" in this context, and politics, then I'm not sure I can explain it in this medium. Let's start with the attention seeking behavior, like the pig-as-cop socks he wore at practice (https://thenypost.files.wordpress.com/2016/09/160901-kaepernick-socks-index.jpg?quality=90&strip=all&w=1200). How is that about Civil Rights, and NOT politics? Secondly, find me a legit sports nutritionist that recommends a vegan diet over a balanced diet that includes animal proteins, for a NFL QB. In my experience, there's a couple kinds of Vegans, and I know plenty. First are ones who are vegan for religious/spiritual reasons, and are often long term. The other group are doing because they're contrarians, and want attention for it. They generally don't stay vegans as long, but while they are, it's the first thing out of their mouths in any conversation. I obviously don't know Colin K, but I'm going to go on and guess he's in the second category. -

And when you've lost RBG to your right, it might be time to reflect on where you're standing and what for. Kaep should probably spend a little more time figuring how to be a professional QB and a little less on being a professional victim, though through the magic of the Bills D, he's going to get to be both on Sunday -

Unless Kaep gets some Popeye level muscling up from eating some kind of PED laced spinach, I don't think he's going to be much to worry about. Between becoming a vegan, and putting his politics above his profession, it doesn't seem like he's had much focus on football, and I'm willing to bet it shows this week. -

He ought to donate his money for how much he's running his mouth about it. He certainly isn't earning that money through his play. -

Yeah, i've not watched ESPN regularly in years, since they started to trend away from sports and towards social issues, and the constant harping on race issues in particular. I'm not the only one either, they're losing subscribers by the millions http://www.outkickthecoverage.com/espn-loses-1-5-million-subscribers-as-cord-cutting-accelerates-052816 Why pay good money for a cable package for sports when the flagship sports station is more concerned with trying to make you feel bad about some social issue that's being beat to death in 1000 other places, than broadcasting sporting events? They've also ruined the magazine with this crap too. I used to pay for insider, in part because I really liked ESPN mag, but it's gotten so SJW that I dropped insider this year just to avoid getting the magazine -

The people who are holding him up as some sort of hero don't really know anything about football, so there's that -

realtalk: this was a big attention seeking stunt by a guy riding the pine. he comes in, looks like the garbage QB he is, throws a couple INTs, 49ers get crushed, and some will wonder why he got so much attention in the first place. Maybe ESPN can hire him in their rapidly expanding Grievence Professionals division that seems to be taking over that network. Honestly they should drop the pretense that they're interested in sports and just fuss and whine about racism all day since that seems to be the most important thing to them -
Oh, dear, I appear to be the only person insulting others in this thread

I can almost see you clutching your pearls as you wrote this. I hope your fainting couch is nearby in case you are overcome by the vapors!

Perhaps the issue is that you've never been employed. It would really explain a lot. For example, my boss is a Giants fan, and hates guns, both objectively stupid and wrong opinions, but because he is above me in the org chart, I follow his lead on issues at work, and do my best to execute his plans to the best of my ability. The fact that he holds fantastically dumb opinions on matters unrelated to the work effort is irrelevant to me, but then again, I'm an adult, and don't spend my whole life seeking safe space hugboxes where everyone agrees with me OR ELSE edit: note also that chances are REAL GOOD that Pegs is also a Trump supporter if for no other reason than that Hillary WILL end fracking in this country, or at a minimum do everything within her power to make it unprofitable. Maybe some of the safespace players should consider that, and maybe decide they have to play for another team since the owner of the bills made his money through dirty evil fracking
-
So if a certain percentage of people don't like thing, we're no longer allowed to talk about thing. What a flawless idea that can only bring positive outcomes!
-
So you're a self appointed mod. Let me guess, you enjoy censoring people in the workplace too? Agreed, but Hillary would give the exact same answer, don't kid yourself
-
Perhaps while you're busy screaming WITCH at everyone you would like to quote the part of the TOS that everyone seems to be violating?
-
So, in essence, mob rules. Rex, you are not allowed to hold that opinion because a bunch of jerkoff precious snowflake millennials can't handle any dissent from their safespace hugbox ideas about how the world works. Yeah seems like a foolproof way to run an organzation. Oh, i dont like that the coach yelled at me and invalidated my identity, im not going to try now. wait until my tumblr community hears about this!
-
I think it's pretty crappy that a certain type of person thinks it's ok to publicly/socially ostracize anyone who doesnt agree with them politically. You see it everywhere, the workplace, college campuses, in media, and so on. They're a bunch of Jacobins who if given the power wouldn't stop at verbal ostracization either. I'm looking forward to the adults taking back over and steering the ship back into the middle. If a player believes that Rex endorsing Trump is a problem that will prevent them from giving 100% on the field, then they should ask to be released from their contract, and Pegs should make it so, immediately. If I'm an owner or GM, I am absolutely not interested in the type of player that puts their own stupid opinions above team cohesion.
-
So if a coach has a different opinion on politics than his players, the players shouldn't respect him? Are you a millennial by chance? That's the exact sort of idiotic crap I see a lot of out of people coming into the work force these days.

if you saw the way Hello Kitty handled that dust tornado monster thing, you wouldn't be comparing her to watkins

OK who's out there, we're nothing if not stark raving lunatics at speculation

I hate to say it but yeah, this. He's become a distraction, and isn't going to contribute. Let him rehab for the next 11 months, skip camp, whatever he has to do, and he gets another shot next year, but starting to look like maybe start some long term contingency planning.
