Here to rant, not listen. Glass is 2/3 empty.
The Bills have played up to expectations against the Jets, the Panthers and the Chiefs. They played 10 inspired minutes against the Ravens but were otherwise outclassed. They played below expectations in the first Dolphins game and against the Saints. They were outplayed losing at home to the Patriots and were downright bad against the Falcons and in the second Dolphins game.
The defense has been shakey almost the entire season, is ravaged by injury and won't have Hoecht and Oliver, arguably its two biggest difference makers this year, for at least the rest of the regular season.
Special teams are mediocre at best.
With the exception of Shakir, Cook and Kincaid, all offensive skill players have disappointed and Cook and Kincaid are showing signs of over usage.
Really ripping the bandaid off here: even Josh Allen has not been played up well, let alone up to his standards of the previous five seasons.
Coaches have shown little ability to right the ship.
I feel considerably less optimistic about the Bills prospects at this point in the season than in any year since 2020. At no point this season have the Bills demonstrated the sort of sustained excellence that I would need to see in order to drink the Kool Aid and convince myself that they're capable of making a Super Bowl run.
