  1. Really well put. I also hope he will prove us wrong but he REALLY just seems so unmotivated. So content with the minimal.
  2. Wow...you sound like big fan
  3. I can't help but think is Willis stayin away from camp to intentionally upset the staff, teammates, and fans of Buffalo? Or could it be he just doesn't care what anyone else feels or say? To be honest when we choose WM I was estatic to say the least. I saw what he was able to do at the U along with his size and speed it made me very optimistic about our future. It didn't hurt that Edge and Portis were the two prior backs to come out of there, so obviously the expectations were high. But fast forward to 2006 and I must say I'm not so sure if I still like him b/c of his potential or is it b/c of the hype surrounding him? I don't want to come off as I'm bashing him but I've yet to see him exibit that speed that he had at the U. I have yet to see him run hard and decisive (without being called out in the media by his coach for not hitting the holes quick enough), I've yet to see him be a great pass catching option out of the backfield, I have yet to see him protect the QB in pass protection. So it makes me wonder what the hell would make him think it's ok to say he's the best back in the league. HE HAS YET TO PROVE A DAMN THING! He doesn't practice with the team and much like Thurman said how do you call yourself a leader if you're not even here. He admitted that he didn't grow up a football fan and still doesn't follow it. He was asked while on the NFL Total Access what players do he watch and follow while not playing and he said none he doesn't watch football. He was able to conjure up three top backs but I have a problem with any list that doesn't include LT on it somewhere. I guess to me...if he really cared about winning and being a leader he would not only be in camp learning this brand new offense but also would be working on how to impliment better blocking techniques, and reads to get a jump on things. You first must lead by example if you expect to grab someone elses ear. As some of you already posted... I'd rather have a bills roster full of players who are team oriented and desire to be here, than a talented player who is selfish and all about the money. You will win more with heart than talent... Just my thoughts!
  4. Agreed. And to piggyback what Kelly said he came from a prgram that didn't prepare him well for the nfl. In addition he only started for two years in college. Therefore he has very little experience and with MM and crew calling plays they were forcing him to make decisive decisions that only an experienced QB would make. And in my opinion that's why KH was able to look better than JL more often. I'm hopeful that with the new OC we can make headway on decisive throws and they may settle him down and simplify the game for him. He definitly has the superior skills and potential.
  5. Good Post. I agree with you. The coaching staff last year played a large roll in JP's stalled development.
  6. I agree as well. I believe the coaches we had made some poor game time decisions. I also believe that TD biggest errors were with the coaches he chose.
  7. I can understand it from this perspective.
  8. You are correct there hasn't been a game played yet; therefore no one knows anything for sure. However, leaving out the fact that you're a die hard fan of the Bills... Are you going to say that you feel confident that with the moves that were made from the front office down the Bills appear to be a contender? The second comment you made was in reference to "if we win 5 games again and statistically we've improved our rank offensively and defensively that's considered a success or at least an upswing." Well since when do we count rankings over W/L? In the end W/L is all that matters. So what if you have the #1 ranked offense if you won only 3 games. Cut it out... it doesn't mean anything if you can't win. And as for Ralph understanding the ramifications you are correct in some regards. I was speaking in reference to salary cap space numbers not overall revenue and expense. Perhaps you're right and it was calculated and they chose to go with cheaper talent.
  9. I believe the injury to TKO and the loss of PW were missed greatly last year. So this is my thought: We draft another DT to fill the gap left by Pat Williams. Ngata or Bunkley. We then address our OL in the second & third. After that we address our secondary. Get a LB for some depth in the later rounds. I know you guys may not like this comment but I also don't believe DJ was the best coach selection as well! From everything I read on him he seems really nice and the palyers past and present seem to like him. But how often does player coaches win in this league? I believe the coach starts the engine moving. And our coach selections have also hurt or W/L record. MM and his staff were major contributors to a number of our losses so it wasn't just b/c of a lack of talent we lost. Perhaps with a new coach and additional draft picks and free agents we may perhaps be in the playoff hunt had we just added to last years team instead.
  10. I also share your sentiments in regards to MW. I also don't have a problem with them choosing to go younger but ONLY if your personel supports that. I REALLY don't believe we've improved as a team from last year. And I believe that's the intent every year.
  11. Or we could have drafted another safety. Bullocks is a nice SS that we could have got in the 2nd round or started Mat Bowens.
  12. My question is what did we spend all of our increased salary cap money on? I'm not sure how much the salary cap increased but it was a lot. We signed no big money free agents... We lost 4 big money players. So the point I was trying to push is had we kept those players and added additonal free agents and draft picks to them we may be looking a lot more better than we do at this time.
  13. That's true that LM lost a step but do you think it warrants a 1st round pick? We still could have had him and used our 1st for another position of need. Also, we keep talking about players fitting a system you have to build a system around the players in my opinion. Certain players have different strengths and if you just continue to right off players saying they don't fit a scheme what happen when your DC gets fired? I may be wrong but wasn't SA cut prior to Fewell being chosen as our DC?
  14. I believe the Bills issues began when they decided to start cutting last year vets. The issue is: 1. We made haste decisions...wayyy to quick to pull the trigger in cutting our vets from last year. We never took into consideration that with the salary cap increasing how it would impact our team. There was no reason to cut MW, SA, and LM when we did. We could have kept Mike Williams and ask him to restructure his contract. He wasn't a bad player just grossly over paid in terms of production. We never found a replacment for him. Sam Adams was another that was cut premature. He was a force a large body that could move and penetrate the pocket. We attempted to replace him but Tripplett isn't a nose tackle. Lawyer Milloy was in my opinion the last one to be cut that was premature. He may not be what he once was; however he was serviceable and very depedable in addition to being great leader. 2. Because we made Haste decisions we tried drafting replacements for these cuts that weren't necessary. Our 1st round pick DW is a direct effect of the LM cut. Our 2nd 1st round pick Mccargo was a direct effect of SA cut. 3. I just believe the early cuts in which we didn't have to make caused us to panic and reach in the draft. 4. We never replaced MW, if we still had him our OL would look a lot more serviceable this upcoming season. These are just my thoughts tell me what you think?
  15. I share a lot of his opinions. I'm not sure about Bills moving yet but I do agree with his assesment of WM and the draft particularily the 1st round I still didn't like that pick. I don't have a problem with DW it's just where he was chosen that I have a problem with.
  16. I could tell you knew it was TKO but I also could tell that the ones who didn't see it believed you...
  17. Actually, it was TKO on the show not Lee Evans. He basically said he's working hard to come back better than ever. He likes DJ. He spoke with DJ when he first got back to Buf and talked about a few things that he didn't like that was going on and DJ shared his thoughts as well on it. He feels that Larry Triplett signing was the bigeest and he also believes that with him penetrating the pocket in this defense they collectively should be pretty good on defense. He also admitted that it will be difficult to replace LM, SA, and EM but feels that everyone has to play as a unit to replace them. Also added that the Defense missed PW really bad last year and this off season he misses the veterean leadership of those guys. In summary he handled himself well and I believe he should be the teams spokes person instead of WM...
  18. I'm not suggesting that Losman is a Bust. What I am suggesting is we stick with a QB that position more than any other needs solidarity. The QB is typically the leader and if we continue to have new leaders every year we'll continue to have no identity and be searching for one. I'm all for Losman starting if he wins the battle. I just feel like we have a QB battle now going on in practice and whomever wins Losman or not. We should ride them out for the year. I hope Losman wins it and regain his confidence b/c the kid definitely has potential.
  19. Let's be honest, if you were Moulds you would have a n attitude as well. Being apart of an orginization that has been rebuilding for the last 10 years. This is a young man game. He's been working hard to stay in tip top shape year-in year-out. So I fully understand his attitude you have to consider the fact that he's had numerous QB's come threw here. There is no consistency and to be honest he realized that we were still aways off from making a push towards the Super Bowl. Much like we are always hoping things will be different each season... well from his perspective he had lost hope. So I believe that's why we started to see his attitude become so apparent. If you think about the comments he made about being jelous of Marvin Harrison having one QB his entire career throwing to him. I believe that was a sign that he really wanted stability at the QB position. As bad as I feel we need to addresss the OL and DT positions the QB position has to be established and maintained as well.
  20. I'm not sure I'd go as far as saying certainly but I love your optimism. I really don't feel like we addressed our biggest problem for the last 5-7 years and that's our OL. For whatever reason it never gets enough attention. My thought is we will be complaing next offseason about the same ole' thing that horrible OL. To me if we're going to over pay players they should be on the OL and DL b/c I'm a firm believer that it starts there. We could have Peyton and LT in our backfield shooting to TO and we still may at best be .500. Our OL HAS to improve before anytthing else in our offense.
  21. I'll answer that I'm taking Moulds all day. However, I must admit that I'm fine with Moulds leaving b/c he was a very large salary and the truth is we're more than a wr away from making a run at things. So my thought is why pay him all that money when clearly we're in a rebuilding phase. But talent wise there is no comparison between the two of them. What I would have really liked is for us to use our second round pick on Javon Walker. That would have been nice.. atleast to me.
  22. I agree... I'm just hoping that I'm wrong and the rotation of the smaller DT's works out.
  23. I also agree with Scraps.... In regards to replacements...well my thought is we're very weak at DT and I'm still not sure why they felt is was necessary to cut Sam Adams. He was a big body who could penetrate the pocket. And he was still under contract for a fair salary. It seems to me that the cutting of Sam Adams much like Pat Williams the year before came back to bite them. When you look at our DL opposing teams can't wait to run on us. With our projected starters I really don't see a unit that will cause havoc for a QB NOR do I see them creating much of a scare for opposing RB's. We need to be able to do one or the other and even if we get too the QB teams will just run the ball on us and control the clock.
  24. I really can't understand why everyone is so defensive when analyst dog or draft and offseason changes... The truthg is many of you were saying the same thing when we chose ML as our new GM, when we chose DJ as our head coach, when we picked Whitner as our first pick. So I'm not sure why you guys get so defensive when other people say the samething. I'm a huge bills fan and the truth in my opinion is this offseason we haven't done anything to catch up in our division in fast I believe there is a bigger gap now than it was at the start of last season. The bills are going to have a very hard time this year. The QB position is up for grabs and that's never been a good thing b/c there is no continuity there. In addition we still don't know who's going to be snapping the ball to whomever the QB is let alone the other OL starters. The WR's big question is who's going to be number 2? Also, who's going to be our possession guy the one who can go across the middle? The interior DL is satill a big ? So my thought is until we prove something on the field everyone is going to have these questions regarding the bills. The one good I see is that unlike prior years when we were so anxious for the season and we just knew it was our year that's no the case this year and I'm just hopefull that it will bring us a good things as a result.
