I love Marshawn! I was mad when we traded him but I'm glad he was able to get a ring and hopefully he'll get another this weekend. He's a baller and that to me should be the focus. Some people are great at this BS interview game others aren't. I agree with the post that mentioned he's not comfortable up there and he shouldn't be forced to do it in my opinion. Trust me there will be others that loves this attention and will go up to the podium and will eat up the spot light.

Would LOVE if we signed Lupati. We can offset the cost by cutting Williams at OG that was a waste... -
100 million dollar mistake?

I HATE how EMOTIONAL some of our fans are. There's a difference between passion and emotion. Last year we started off fast and everyone was screaming playoffs and what happen? This is ONLY one week and we're ready to throw in the towel all ready. Give it a break! It's a marathon not a sprint. -
Not sure if this was posted before but here's a website with a littel insight to the type offense Chan runs. Good info: http://www.texnews.com/1998/1999/cowboys/off1024.html

That is the reason why I mentioned that the original statement that they're looking for coaches with head coaching experience is no longer the case.
-
I agree that at this point people have more questions than answers in regards to the bills job including hte bills themselves. As mentioned before, the original plan of looking for someone with head coaching experience I believe is shot. If that was in fact still to be true trying to interview Grimm after already interviwing frazier wouldn't be going on. I still can't understand why Billick or Fassel hasn't been interviewd yet if that's the case.

http://www.buffalonews.com/494/story/747016.html You can count out the Buffalo Bills as a potential suitor for Michael Vick. Russ Brandon, the team's chief operating officer/general manager, told The Buffalo News today that the Bills aren't interested in bringing in the former Atlanta Falcons quarterback. "We wouldn't have any interest at this time," Brandon said. "We're comfortable with our roster as it stands right now." Third-year quarterback Trent Edwards is the Bills' starter and he's backed up by fourth-year quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Gibran Hamdan, a third-year player from Indiana. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Vick on Monday, with conditions. Free after serving 18 months in prison for running a dog-fighting ring, Vick could participate in regular-season games as early as October. Vick can immediately take part in preseason practices, workouts and meetings and can play in the final two preseason games, if a team is willing. Once the season begins, Vick may participate in all team activities except games, and Goodell, a native of Jamestown, said he would consider Vick for full reinstatement by Week Six.

AGREED!

I applaud you having high standards to live by but are you cheering for the team or the player? As other posts have mentioned Kelly, Bruce and Thurman have all had some character issues during there superbowl years. Where you cheering then?? Speaking of moral standards and values that you expect for players to meet have you ever heard about Kelly having extramarital affairs when playing for the bills? Did you still cheer for him? My point is wrong is wrong and we all have done and will do wrong. I just don't believe it's fair for people to be so judgemental b/c someone was caught doing wrong they become the villan but the one that wasn't caught becomes the hero? It's a game people - Not life! "let he who is without sin, cast the first stone"
-
Thank you, my point exactly!

I'm not suggesting that he will certainly make us successful but I am suggesting that he will be an improvement over our 3rd string QB, over our 2nd string QB and possibly over our 1st string QB. He was never the proto type QB but he was a "difference maker" a "game changer". With him under any center automatically calls for certain level of attention on the football field. Much like T.O. requires a certain level of attention b/c NOT of his mouth or locker room issues BUT b/c his talent on the field. Now I completely agree that the two does not have to be mutually exclusive - but what I do have a hard time understanding is what do you mean "at that cost" What exactly are we giving up by signing him? It's the same philosphy that the FO had when they signed T.O. he's a talent and what's the risk in taking that chance? I agree that what he did was wrong - I also feel that he's served his time for that wrong. At what point do we say ok let's move on?
-
thanks for the clarification. You're right those would be considered character issues...
-
I have a question for you. Are you happy with the bills end result the past decade? If not, are you suggesting that you'd rather deal with another decade or two of losing seasons as long as the team has high character guys on them?
-
I would like for us to sign Vick for a few reasons. 1. What do we have to lose? Prior to T.O. coming here we've been irrelevant anyways. 2. He's at worst better than our backup QB and arguably better than our starting QB. 3. Everyone wants to concentrate on "character guys" when the truth is we've had high character guys for the past several years and what has it brought to Buffalo???? No playoffs. 4. Much like what T.O. mentioned aside from what he went to jail for what other trouble has he been involved in? 5. One question I have for everyone that doesn't want him here "Looking at the football end only - Do you believe we'll be a better team with him as our backup or starter than without him?" I understand that everyone has a view on this topic but this is just my view on it!

T. Graham's new Peters article
fitnbills replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Personally, I think we should pay him. We had "NO" problem paying newcomers to our team top dollars, such as Dockery, Walker why not pay your home bread guy? Also, the simple fact that we're paying kelsey $6million a year and intitiated those talks wile kelsey was still under contract tells alot about the organizatioon if I'm Peters. Simply put he's our best o-lineman and not even the highest paid one. We just gave stroud a deal for $8million a year I say give Peters the dough and let's go draft a Pass rusher in the 1st, the big guard in the 2nd, best available center in the 3rd and with the next pick grab top TE available. -
I hope the GM is being honest. I HATe the idea of Peppers in New England. "By the rules of the [Collective Bargaining Agreement], we cannot and have not had any conversations with other teams about Julius,” Hurney said in a team-issued statement. “Under the non-exclusive franchise tag, Julius and his agent, Carl Carey, are within their rights to talk to other teams about a potential contract. However, at this point, we are not aware of any such conversations.” http://blogs.charlotte.com/panthers/2009/0...l-or-talks.html

Kollar's departure not a lateral move
fitnbills replied to TC in St. Louis's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree but hey maybe he'll have bad numbers at the combine and his draft stock will even out. We ALL know how combine warriors are the ones that get all the hype and draft stock climb b/c of what they can do in shorts... Makes a lot of sense right? -

So how about B.J. Raji? Here he was a BEAST against all competition. "In the first two days of practice, no player has been more dominant defensively than B.J. Raji, the 6'2" 335 pound defensive tackle out of Boston College. Not only has he dominated in the one-on-one drills against the best centers in the draft, he has also been impressive in the individual position drills. Raji has shown excellent upper body strength, as well as quick feet for his size. " http://bleacherreport.com/articles/113445-...e-for-12th-pick "At 6-foot-1, 325-pounds, Raji is a big, physical interior lineman who commands a lot of attention. A good athlete who has a solid burst off the line, he plays with leverage, and bull rushes opponents up the field. Raji also has a quick first step and immediately penetrates upfield and makes plays in the backfield. With his great strength, he brings down the opposition with his initial push, gets off blocks very well and can handle double-teams. " Just a thought. He can penetrate and defend the run...... -
Julius Peppers wants out
fitnbills replied to San Jose Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My thought is - We should cut Schobel b/c he's no longer hte player he was 3 years ago and he's 32. We should use that money to sign peppers if it's possbile. If we can't get him we should direct our attention to Suggs. We're in dire need of some type of a pass rusher. Schobel is not the answer. I think with paying kelsey 6 million is a bit much also... We could use the high salaries for the both of them on either Peppers or Suggs! -
I like all those guys. But what Spagnola has done despite the missing people for the Giants Defense has been probably more impressive than any of the other guys. Plus McDaniels I don't know enough about yet.
-
I would like a new HC to begin with. I'm not sure who exactly yet but we need someone that is NOT a player coach. I want someone that actually will show there emotions when needed to. I'd like for us to cut ties with Schobel. He's being paid top dollar and not performing to that level. I'd like for us to go after either J. Peppers to replace him or A. Haynesworth in the middle to play alongside Stroud. Draft a Center, OG, and pass rushing DE(if we get Haynsworth instead of Peppers) and LB with size and athleticism. A Tightend that can be accounted for in the passing game. This is my start please feel free to add...

I think it's a bit early still to blame Brandon. In fact I like what he's done but I agree we do need a new head coach and an upgrade on the OL, DL, LB and TE's.
