That comment is not worthy of you. -

Not true, it has remained true to it's original intent. Last post wins. -

Typical double standard, where's the outrage?
Booster4324 replied to Magox's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Initially yes, but later it could have been used. Still, the more I read on it, I have all but discarded the idea. That is what I get for thinking Rush Limbaugh had a point. Still, they were able to conduct a controlled burn by April 28. They couldn't start earlier, due to sea states as you said. Another thing I picked up while reading up on the idea: After reading up on it, they corralled the oil and burned it in a fire-proof boom. I would assume that means the oil was more concentrated that way and thus easier to burn, because it burned quite nicely. The USCG announced a plan to burn up to a 1,000 barrels a day. All the pictures and references I see are to small controlled burns like that. So essentially, too big a spill to burn enough to make any meaningful headway. There, I have completely shredded my own post. I think that is caused by the dispersant. However, after my thorough debunking by myself, I decline to comment further at this point. -

It will burn when in sufficient thickness. Mind you, this could pose other hazards, but from what I have read, it seemed a possibility. Link -

No worries, we all read typonese as well as type it. -
Bartender for 15 years and I have nothing to top this stuff. A liquid cement seems so tame in comparison.

Not sure on your numbers, but that is the best post (except for the needless attack on Gene) I have seen you make. I genuinely like your idea. Kudos. I know you have been awaiting my approval. -

I would add, not burning off the spill from the beginning to that list. -
I think Pyrite Gal is still here, just shorter posts and another name.

Hmm, I dislike Obama (especially lately with his response to the oil spill), but that was pretty lame. I always liked Casey at the bat. That may contribute to it. I suppose, to each his own.

Heliograph? Maybe a beacon fire? My bit of advise when dealing with customer service people (not directed at you Cincy) is start off really nice even when you know you have been !@#$ed. Depending on the company, the CSR may have tons of discretion or almost none. Most do not have much ability other than to do basic functions. If you are unable to get satisfaction from the first person you speak to after you have presented your case, politely ask to be transferred to a supervisor. Do not blow a gasket with them, save that for when you get to the top of the food chain. Someone (maybe) will have the ability to perform basic customer service. If you start ranting and raving at the wrong person, this will prejudice your case possibly. When and if you get transferred, politely state your case again. When they refuse to transfer you higher (most seem to have two or three layers tops), and they still are in the wrong, then you unload. One of my stories about bad customer care, I call T-Mobile to change my service. There is no way to do it through the automated system. I ask for a rep after googling the way to do so easily and hear a recording, "Due to unexpectedly high call volume, we are unable to take your call at this time." This was followed by a click and then a sudden realization that a recording hung up on me. Another story, when I got married we canceled the service at her apartment. I dutifully turn in the cable modem and get my receipt. Since we paid in advance, they owed us like $40 and said they would deduct this from the bill. A couple of months later (no refund on the pro-rated service), I get a letter from them saying I owed something like $180.00 for the modem. Cost of the item, plus a penalty of like $20. I call, am really nice and give them the invoice number for where I returned it. They apologize and assure me the situation is taken care of and my refund will be on my next bill. Another two months (still no refund) or so and I get another letter from the cable company. Now I owe somewhere around $250. I call, am a bit curt, but polite and again they assure me the situation is addressed. Yet another month or so later, I get a call saying I owe then $350.00 for the modem I returned. I immediately asked to speak with a supervisor. I tore into that supervisor so hard, they were reeling from the get go. The clincher was was all the notes were there (clearly something wrong with their computer system) of the past conversations. As I scream at the supervisor, "You still owe me $40 bucks for my refund. When the !@#$ do I get to start charging you late fees?" Got a check for the refund and two free months of cable. Oh and a bunch of movie channels for 6 months that I didn't have to pay for.

Does that make the three? Coleman, Hopper, and McClanahan.

What? I have been super busy at work. One corpse from this room to that room. All the vital organs to take out, then back to the other room. Drawing all these stupid symbols in chalk in some crazy language. I swear my boss is off his rocker, but hard to beat $6 an hour.

I think he was talking about WisconsinBillzFan. Oh and one last note, perhaps he means that she shouldn't want her kids growing up hoping for peace. And I think to myself, what a horrible world. -

Fair enough, although I think the slowness described by the posters is exaggerated. So they really drive probably 5 miles under in all likelihood. If the effect was doing 45 even in a 69, we would hear about it way more. Which is more dangerous in your opinion, 25 over while sober or 10 under while stoned? -

Only you are criticizing his individual driving. Maybe other stoners are smart (no offense) and drive the speed limit. Maybe even set their cruise control at the speed limit. Perhaps, in his example, he speeds at twice the limit when he isn't stoned. Your thoughts then? -
Greatest TV or Movie Character of Last 20 Years
Booster4324 replied to /dev/null's topic in Off the Wall Archives
True, they are mathematically free as far as demographics, but the point should be obvious. They had a broad based appeal (probably more in syndication after you were gone, which is where I watched the show). Computer games, merchandising, role-plays, clothing etc were all created. Joss Whedon did a great job with the series (season #4 kinda sucked). Someone voted her #3. Since you are over 45, I will just assume you are speaking for your age demographic. -

I do know you from your posts, which is why it surprised me when you referenced the size of the network it was on. As to demographics: Link Have you watched more than a few episodes (if any)? Edit - Another link
