  1. The only thing that anybody watching that cares about is Orchard Park, and is the one town that channel 4 leaves off of their map.
  2. It's all about matchups. That was against two pretty bad run Ds in Seattle and Cincinnati and the Ravens' second and third-stingers. And that 113 on Cincinnati was actually below the Bengals average of giving up 126.2 rushing YPG. To prove that point, before this current run back when Kenny Pickett was playing, the Steelers beat the Bengals in Cincinnati 16-10 on 11/26 in Jake Browning's first game as the starter. The Steelers had 153 yards rushing in that game. So I would argue that they didn't find anything so much as they got favorable matchups for three straight weeks to close out the season. To that point (again), Pacheco had 130 against the Bengals on New Year's Eve in by far his best performance of the year.
  3. Who cares who gets the yards? Do people denigrate Baltimore's rushing stats because Lamar is their leading rusher? Lamar accounted for 31% of their total rushing yards. Josh is the Bills second-leading rusher and accounted for 24% of the Bills' rushing yards. And yet somehow, Josh running is proof that the Bills can't run the ball while Lamar's running is what makes him MVP.
  4. There seems to be a narrative building around here that Pittsbugh is a run-first team and has a better rushing attack than the Bills. Let's take a look at the numbers, shall we? 2023 Stats STEELERS: 2010 RUSHING YARDS ON 487 ATTEMPTS BILLS: 2212 RUSHING YARDS ON 512 ATTEMPTS Your 2023 Buffalo Bills have the 5th most rushing attempts in the NFL. The Bills also rank 8th in YPC. In other words, the Bills have been a better rushing team than the Steelers this year. I know that doesn't fit historical reputations or the popular narrative, but those are the facts.
  5. Not just NIL. The transfer portal really changed recruiting for top schools. They can no longer stash guys for years like Saban, Urban, and Dabo used to do all the time.
  6. The Seahawks wanted to let Carrol go last year, but the team went out and made the playoffs.
  7. A lot of people bought CB radios that they didn't need after they watched Smokey and the Bandit.
  8. All of that. It was also the same mistake that Mahomes made in the AFC CG two years ago that caused a screaming match in the tunnel at HT.
  9. Ah, Jerry Glanville.
  10. Here are highlights of Kay Stevenson's last game as Bills coach. I was there as a kid, and I remember fans wearing bags on their heads and serenading Kay with "Goodbye Kay" to the tune of some old Vaudville or pub song.
  11. I just gotta say that I'm so happy to be worrying about a playoff game than being in a coaching search.
  12. Steaming? Some of the old guys here on TBD have prostates so big that they haven't had a steady stream in years.
  13. But Vrabel and Belichick are getting another job this week.
  14. And Mike Tomlin and Robert Salah.
  15. Get outta here with your facts and positivity! We've got a game to mentally lose four days before it happens.
  16. EXACTLY! People see Steelers helmets and expect certain things. Just as an aside, do people here know that the BIlls have given up the fewest number of sacks in the league this year?
  17. Lets put some actual numbers to all of this. In terms of causing TOs, the Bills and Steelers have had very similar years. The Steelers have forced 5 more fumbles this year, but the Bills recovered one more fumble than them. The Bills had two more INTS than Pittsburgh. The Bills had 7 more sacks than the Steelers. The Bills D was better in both passing and rushing yards per game. They are about equal on PPG. So, the Steelers have a good D but this is not a situation where the BIlls are playing a defense that is clearly stronger. That won't be the case against the Chiefs or Ravens, BTW. On offense, the Steelers only two dominant rushing performances came in the last two weeks against the Seahawks who have the second-worst rushing D in the NFL, and the Ravens' second and third-string players. By the end of that game, all the Ravens ST guys were playing defense. The Bills could lose this game, but there is nothing in the stats that indicates that the Steelers have any advantage in any area. I think that some people see those uniforms and expect Jerome Bettis to come marching out there. That is not the case. OTOH, the Bills rank 8th in passing yards per game while the Steelers rank 25. I know that it's been better with Rudolph (still never over 300 yards) and that the wind might negate that, but it still is a huge advantage.
  18. I don't think that's a bad idea at all.

  20. He's not a joke, he's just not a head coach. He should be an OC cooking up plays in the lab. You are correct about the unnecessary F-bombs. It looks like he's forcing them in an attempt to be relatable to players, but at his core McDaniel is the Yalee that he is. Also, putting the Yale football helmet in his office is a strange touch.
  21. He's like an instructor in a college class who's lost the class but still has to continue lecturing. No one is learning anything and no one is listening to him anymore and all the business majors in the back are just rolling their eyes. Trust me, I've been in his shoes before.
  22. I think what the OP is noting is the contrast between Bills fans and Steelers fans levels of confidence in online posts. Steelers fans are absolutely sure that they are winning it all, all due to beating the Bengals (in the game when Browning turned back into a pumpkin), Seahawks, and the Ravens backups. Somebody had to win the 7th seed in the AFC and they backed into it due to an epic collapse by the Jags. Meanwhile, Bills fans are actively searching for every potential way that their team could lose the game despite a five-game winning streak with wins over the Chiefs, Cowboys, and Dolphins. Do you know that the Steelers give up more yards per game on the ground than the Bills (or Cowboys) do? Do you know that Najee Harris” only two 100-yard games came against the second-worst run defense and the Ravens third-stringers? You know, if the Jags and Colts had won the Bills would be facing the Colts and JT in a snow game. Would that make people feel better? I get it. We are just guarding ourselves from potential disappointment. What I don’t get is the chest thumping from Pittsburgh.
  23. I think there is a portion of TBD that hate McDermott so much that they want a loss on Sunday.
  24. Mason Rudolph throws the ball downfield more than Pickett or Trubitsky, but he throws moonballs. He takes advantage of teams selling out to stop the run. If he had great arm strength, accuracy, and good decision making he wouldn't have ridden the pine for 6 years.
  25. We don't get one until Wednesday for a Sunday game.
