First of all, there is nothing in that story that is news. We've known this since the end of the game. Secondly, he took a one-year "prove it" deal. He proved it. Now a bad team with cap space will overpay. It's the circle of life.

There is a lot of competition at the OC position right now. First of all, 8 teams will have new HCs and presumably new staffs. Then you add in the Bills, Steelers, Eagles, Bengals, Browns, and probably the Lions. That's 14 openings for promotion to OC. I mean, Dorsey is out there getting interviews.

Not just in the media. Around here too. You'd think that football was a tag team wrestling match between HCs and QBs. And the people who say that injuries are not an excuse drive me mad too. Then why do we pay so much attention to FA and the draft if talent doesn't matter?

But he has really good hair and a hot girlfriend. Isn't that what makes McVey great?

I hate the Bengals more than any other team for the same reason. I live here and I had to live with them watching their team in the SB two years ago. I have to see Joe Burrow on my TV all the time (did you know that he's not just an Average Joe?). He had to live through the Can Newton glory years while the Bllls languished in the drought. I totally get it. Also, those teal uniforms are straight out of 1995. BTW, one of the worst things about living in Cincinnati is that nobody in the history of anyone has made more local commercials than Chris Collinsworth. He's selling insurance. The problem with that is that you then have to pay that new guy. If you draft a WR, you get a rookie contract for 5 years.

I really like the Washington job in this cycle. The owner knows that a rebuild is necessary and with the second pick, you can get the QB. They also have a mountain of cap space. They also have 6 picks within the first 102. The new coach and GM can reshape that franchise.

Just looked it up. This dude was an OC for ONE YEAR. At least he called the plays, unlike Callahan.

I don't mind the run per se. I get that an incompletion there is a complete disaster. Then you have to throw twice and you might leave over 2:00 after the kick. But the run to the middle when KC had stacked the box was a capitulation. I would have done something to get the ball to the edges. They were not defending that.

No Tyreek is a surprise to me.

The Bills opponents' margin of victory combined across all 7 of their losses was 29 points. They only gave up 30 points once (Philadephia) If you're talking regular season, that is true.

Again, hindsight being 20/20, the correct move might have been to run the ball to force KC to take their TOs. Then on 4th down, you could have run it down to just over a minute before kicking. 13 seconds was only possible because they had all three TOs.

I wouldn't take that job if I were him. Eberflus called the plays for the majority of this season and whoever takes that job will be second-guessed all season.

In retrospect, my least favorite play on that drive was the run up the middle to get to the two-minute warning. It felt like wasting a down when the BIlls didn't have downs to waste.
