  1. Comp picks are only for HC and GM hires.
  2. Is he going to call the plays? Eberflus called the plays in Chicago for most of last season after their DC quit.
  3. Yes. Totally true. But his year they don’t have a star WR and might win the SB. They’re winning with defense.
  4. I asked ChatGPT to write me an article on why Belichick would be a good coach for the Buffalo BIlls. Here's what I got: Title: "The Belichick Factor: Why Bill Belichick Would Be the Perfect Coach for the Buffalo Bills" Introduction: In the dynamic world of professional football, coaching decisions can shape the destiny of a team. The Buffalo Bills, a franchise with a storied history and passionate fan base, are perennial contenders in the NFL. As the team looks to solidify its position among the league's elite, one name emerges as a potential game-changer for the Bills: Bill Belichick. The legendary coach, with a plethora of achievements and a reputation for building successful teams, could be the missing piece to elevate the Buffalo Bills to new heights. Proven Track Record: Bill Belichick's coaching career is synonymous with success. During his tenure with the New England Patriots, he transformed the team into a dynasty, winning six Super Bowls and dominating the AFC East for nearly two decades. Belichick's ability to adapt to changing circumstances, devise effective game plans, and consistently produce winning seasons is unmatched in the modern era. His proven track record is precisely what the Buffalo Bills need to take the next step in their journey to championship glory. Defensive Expertise: One of Belichick's greatest strengths lies in his defensive acumen. Throughout his career, he has crafted some of the league's most formidable defensive units. The Buffalo Bills, known for their defensive prowess, would benefit immensely from Belichick's strategic mind and ability to mold a top-tier defense. His expertise could amplify the effectiveness of an already talented Bills defense, turning them into an unstoppable force capable of shutting down even the most high-powered offenses in the NFL. Quarterback Development: As the quarterback is the linchpin of any successful team, Belichick's history of developing and maximizing the potential of quarterbacks is another compelling reason why he could be the ideal fit for the Buffalo Bills. Whether it's grooming young talent or refining the skills of seasoned veterans, Belichick has a knack for getting the best out of his signal-callers. With the talented Josh Allen under center, the prospect of Belichick's guidance could see Allen reach new heights and further solidify his place among the league's elite quarterbacks. Discipline and Culture: Belichick is renowned for instilling a culture of discipline, accountability, and professionalism within his teams. This culture has been a key factor in the sustained success of the New England Patriots. The Buffalo Bills, with a roster filled with young and talented players, could greatly benefit from Belichick's emphasis on accountability and attention to detail. His ability to create a winning culture could be the catalyst that propels the Bills to consistent success. AFC East Dynamics: Having spent decades in the AFC East, Belichick possesses an intimate knowledge of the division's dynamics, rivalries, and challenges. This familiarity would provide the Buffalo Bills with a strategic advantage, as Belichick's insights into the strengths and weaknesses of divisional opponents could prove invaluable in crafting game plans and making roster decisions. Conclusion: While coaching changes are always a topic of speculation, the idea of Bill Belichick leading the Buffalo Bills is not merely wishful thinking—it's a realistic and compelling proposition. With his unparalleled coaching pedigree, defensive expertise, quarterback development skills, commitment to discipline, and knowledge of the AFC East, Belichick could be the transformative figure the Buffalo Bills need to etch their name in NFL history. As the team seeks to build on its recent successes, bringing in a coach of Belichick's caliber may be the key to unlocking a new era of prosperity in Buffalo.
  5. THANK YOU!!!!!
  6. It was actually more than that. He was on a career best pace until after the Giants game. It's like he fell off a cliff. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/2976212/stefon-diggs
  7. The Ravens don't have one either. They are probably going to the SB with no WR having over 1,000 yards. Zay Flowers led the team with 858, but no one else even had 600 yards. Also, Lamar is their leading rusher.
  8. I hate this so much. I should be wracked with nerves over an upcoming Championship game. Instead, I'm worried about losing a LBs coach. But if I'm him, I get out of Buffalo now. Being DC for a HC who just spent a year calling plays is a thankless job with someone looking over your shoulder with each call. I would stay away from Daboll in NY, but the GB and Miami DC jobs are great opportunities. I just wish that he could stay here. I hate losing young coaches.
  9. I agree here. I give all the success in SF to Kyle Shanahan, but some of that magic certainly rubbed off on Mike McDaniel and Bobby Slowik as play designers and play callers. They learned from the best, just like Lafluer.
  10. Almost as good as Cincinnati Bengals QB Joe Burroughs.
  11. Brian Callahan just got a HC job and he has called zero plays in college or the NFL. Not a one.
  12. But every tier 1 guy starts off as a position coach somewhere. The trick is to identify them early.
  13. This thread is about ready to turn very ugly.
  14. I agree with all of this. It does seem like the #1 qualification for becoming an NFL coach is having a father who was an NFL coach. I mean the Bills have a Shula and a Shurmur on staff. But Thad Lewis' experience in the NFL consists of two years as an assistant WR coach and one year as a QB coach. I would think that a few more years as an actual position coach would be necessary before getting an OC position. So I think that it would take one heck of an interview for him to get the job.
  15. Come to think of it, this might actually be an interview for QB coach. There will be a new OC in Tampa so there could be some shake-up in the position coaches.
  16. They are using a completely unqualified candidate to satisfy the Rooney Rule. They're giving the job to Joe Brady.
  17. I think it is the best opening this year. #2 pick, lots of other high picks, mountains of cap space and a clean slate with a patient owner. Even their fans don’t expect to win right away.
  18. I think that some of you people want to make the team as miserable playing games as you are watching them. You need a surrogate yeller.
  19. The new ownership in Washington is the most patient in professional sports. This regime will be given the space and resources for a full rebuild. The Process originates with Josh Harris’ Sixers.
  20. NCAA sanctions?
  21. Harbaugh was the domino that needed to fall. Once he choose the Chargers, Atlanta moved to plan B. Plan A in Carolina was Morris, but they were forced to move to plan B. The rumors are that Washington will hire Ben Johnson as soon as the Lions season is over. Who knows what Seattle is doing.
  22. When Ben Johnson goes to Washington, that will be a great fit.
  23. There is no way that Joe Brady stays here in a reduced role. He’s getting HC interviews. If the Bills don’t keep him, he’ll get one of the 14 current OC openings pretty quickly. Ken Freaking Dorsey has interviewed in Cleveland and Philadelphia.
  24. FWIW Kliff with a K has already interviewed in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia.
  25. Consider the source. Lombardi was the GM of the Cleveland Browns from 2013-2014 and his son was the OC in Las Vegas until McDaniels was fired. He's salty. "If only they had given us the time, we could have shown 'em!"
