  1. I think so many of us had spent so much time “scouting” QBs in the lead up to that draft that we thought that we knew more than we did. I’ll admit that I was a Rosen guy, mostly because I thought that he fit the Tom Brady role. When we traded up, I stood up out of my chair. Then when the pick was announced, it was like time stopped for a beat on the word “Josh.” I was sure that we had our franchise pocket passer. Then when the word “Allen” left Goodell’s lips I let out a loud “No!!!!!!!” But I think I came around later that night after I heard him speak.
  2. I don’t know if you did, but @KDIGGZpromosedd that he was gone forever. @GunnerBill also had some spicy takes, but he has since acknowledged that he was wrong. I’m just lucky that I didn’t post my immediate reaction to the pick.
  3. You don’t have to wonder what people thought. Here it all is in glorious detail:
  4. All the people upset about this are the same people who would have been apocalyptic if he had gone to Miami.
  5. I went to the Commanders' board and there is a lot more to all of this. He told them this while the Commanders' owner and GM were on the plane en route to Detroit to interview him. This after last year essentially accepting the Panthers job and then deciding to stay in Detroit at the last second. This is not a good look for him. Albright is reporting that he is asking for $15 million per year. FWIW, I feel for those fans. It reads like a drought-ear coaching search thread around here. https://es.redskins.com/topic/453428-moving-towards-our-future-front-office-and-coaching-hires-all-the-way-to-the-water-boy-adam-peters-hired-as-gm/page/323/
  6. Of all the teams that fired HCs this cycle, only the Chargers got their guy.
  7. The "Patriot Way" is joyless football and joyless football only works if the team is actively contending for Superbowls.
  8. I mean, I'll watch a Thursday night Bears-Jags game so I'll watch this one for sure.
  9. I vaguely remember a similar ad campaign "Don't you wanna wanna go to Lackawanna."
  10. I agree with you, but Moore's already been hired as the OC in Philly.
  11. Detroit is not on Lake Erie, it's on the Detroit River and Lake St. Clair.
  12. When the Bills ‘part ways” with a coach, he is free to sign with any other team including the other three in the AFC East.
  13. I don't know what his trade value is, but I sure was concerned about him. The consensus back then was that he was going to have a Matt Ryan-like career.
  14. You're right about the new NFL. No one would probably argue that Patrick Mahomes is on the cusp of his third ring and SB MVP. But, did you know, that he has been just checking down all year? Wait, that's not possible. He's the new GOAT. But here are the numbers. 6th in yards at 4,183 1st in YAC at 2,552 17th in completed air yards at 1,631 (almost a thousand more YAC than air yards!) 14th in Intended air yards at 3,786 31st in Air Yards per completion at 4.1 30th in Intended air yards per pass attempt at 6.5 He didn't throw it deep. He didn't complete deep passes. He just checked it down and let his guys get YAC. He had almost 400 more YAC than Tua, who played one more game and was throwing to a track team.
  15. You wanna know why they keep showing Taylor Swift? Here's why. Spoiler alert; it's massive piles of money. https://nypost.com/2024/01/29/sports/taylor-swift-has-generated-330-million-for-nfl-amid-travis-kelce-romance/
  16. Post-game kiss at the 50 with red and yellow confetti raining down on them. You can book it now.
  17. Couple of things: You're going to hear from moderators about the name only thread titles Someone will trade a 5th or something, just based on his rookie year. For example, the Panthers traded a 5th in 2021 and a second and fourth in 2022 for Sam Freaking Darnold. Someone will trade for Mac and Zach.
  18. This thread is actually more like “The Buffalo Bills keep ruining my Sundays. I called One Bills Drive to ask them for permission to come down to the sidelines to scream at Josh Allen for making me sad, but they told me that I’m not allowed to do that. So, I formally request that the team hire a proxy yeller. And if he keeps playing poorly, this proxy yeller needs to keep yelling louder until his play improves. I coach little league, and I know this to be the ideal coaching style.”
  19. Remember, we've seen Campbell with Anthony Lynn as his OC. They sucked.
  20. Today I say no, but I'll watch.
  21. JFC. Every coach in the league talks about "complementary football."
  22. Skyline : Wings :: Goetta : Beef on Weck
  23. You are looking for real absolute reasons for things. I'm saying that if that ball falls to the turf instead of directly into Aiyuk's hands the Lions win that game. Pure luck. Purdy drastically underthrew a ball that turned into the game-changing play. That was the momentum swing. Pure luck.
  24. I don't think the 49ers made their luck tonight.
