  1. He was prescribed something that is on the NFL's list of banned substances. In order to take it, he would have had to get permission from the league. He didn't do that.
  2. Remember when he had off-season surgery but then recovered faster than expected? Well, now we know how he did that.
  3. Too bad he screwed the Jets over all those years ago because you just described them to a T.
  4. He didn't play week 18.
  5. Most of the top guys won't do the drills. They'll come, get interviewed, maybe bench and jump, and then leave. For instance, there is no way that Caleb Williams will actually throw. What I want to see is some of the WRs run.
  6. He might get a similar situation if he went to Atlanta. They have weapons everywhere and they will run that Shanahan/McVey system. He wouldn't have to be the "franchise guy" there. Just get the ball to Pitts, London, and Robinson in space and let them do their thing.
  7. This reminds me of all the posters on TBD that wanted to take Roquon Smith at 12 and then wait for Mason Rudolph in the second to address the QB position. In retrospect, that would have been a monumentally stupid move but it would have looked savvy on draft night.
  8. We are going to spend all summer analyzing an overtime game between two great teams, looking for absolute reasons that one team won and absolute reasons that the other team lost. Really, it was a punt bouncing off of a heal and a missed PAT. But that doesn't make analysts sound savvy, so into the analytics we dive.
  9. I'm just reposting this so that people who are just jumping to the end of the thread to complain that the Bills don't run plays like this can see that we ran pretty much THIS EXACT SAME PLAY against the Chiefs 3 1/2 weeks ago to pick up a 4th down.
  10. How many cryptic "fire McDermott" threads can we have on the TBD front page at one time?
  11. I think Mason Rudolph will be the starter in Pittsburgh next year. I also think that someone will try to revive Mac Jones' career. Atlanta? He's better than anyone they currently have on the roster at QB. The OC they just hired is from the Shanahan coaching tree via McVey. I think Mac Jones could do the Tua/Purdy thing. The Pats tried to insert Mac into the Brady offense. That was never going to work. But he could be a point guard. I like this idea the more that I think about it.
  12. The 90's Bills wouldn't have made a single Super Bowl if they were in the NFC
  13. I know it's not a rock song, but...
  14. Jamarcus Russell - starting QB and team captain.
  15. It's worth a try, but I do think that fans can get too focused on what we thought of players as prospects. Both Shenault and Burks now have NFL game film that demonstrates that their draft evaluations were incorrect. I get that Shenault has been in some of the worst situations, but that type of thinking is what led fans, including me, to think that Andy Isabella just needed a better QB to live up to his draft profile. That was clearly not the case.
  16. Today is the day that I learned that Travis Kelce and Rob Gronkowski are the same age.
  17. Well, I agree with that for sure. But that's not the question that was asked.
  18. I hate the Chiefs more than I ever hated the Pats. The Bills were not good enough to make me care all that much about what the Pats were doing. It was like they were playing in another league.
  19. Here's NFL.com's immediate post-draft reaction to the Mahomes pick. The Bills didn't pass on a sure thing like Joe Burrow. They passed on a risky gunslinger from an air raid offense. That risk sure as heck worked out for the Chiefs, but it was a risk. BTW, why the panic around here today? I knew as soon as they beat the Bills that the Chiefs were winning it all. There was no way that Baltimore could beat them wtih playoff Lamar and the 49ers should have lost to both the Packers and Lions. I mean, Brock Purdy didn't complete a pass in the third quarter (an exaggeration, but it felt like that) and the Niners still almost won.
  20. Folks, you want to get concerned? The Bengals will play a 4th place schedule next year. And they're running it back with a (presumably) healthy Joe Burrow. I know that we struggle to beat KC in the playoffs, but the Bills don't even compete with the Joe Burrow Bengals. They Chiefs took CEH and Skyy Moore with high draft picks. Every GM has busts.
  21. And I'm sure, on a personal level, that hurts him a lot. I know where it comes from. I used to know a former prosecutor in a small town in Utah. He told me that they had a huge meth problem but no problems with teenage drinking. He said that kids figure that if hard drugs and beer are the same level of sin, they might as well go down swinging.
  22. I really want to make a bunch of jokes about Andy Reid being a great FB coach but a failed Morman father, but I probably shouldn't.
  23. Luckiest team in the league.
  24. Because you can run on the Chiefs and the 49ers have the best RB in football?
  25. My son is bringing his girlfriend and friends home from college for the game. I’m making wings and getting two Costco pizzas. The game will be on but I’ll be cooking.
