  1. This is what teams do when a CB is the most talented player on their roster. Gotta pay someone.
  2. I think that they will rotate in as weekly captains. The Ravens, Packers, Seahawks, and Commanders appoint their captains weekly. There is no set procedure and all the captains do is go out for the coin toss. Theoretically, they also accept or decline penalties but it's the coach who does that. In the interests of full disclosure, I had to look all that up.
  3. My guess is that the Texans don't want to tie themselves long-term to an aging Diggs. They have a lot of young players to pay in the upcoming years on both sides of the ball. To them, Diggs is a one-year luxury signing that costs them nothing but some cash and a draft pick that wasn't theirs to begin with. From Diggs' standpoint, after this year he'll head up I45 to Dallas to play for his boyhood team with his brother. Everyone got what they wanted except for the Bills.
  4. I'm going through the same things. It's never fun to have to admit that you were wrong, especially on the Internet where your previous strong opinions are public record. I was very adamant that Diggs was untradable due to the dead cap hit. I still think I was right about that. In a vacuum, that's a contract that you don't trade and the Bills will pay the price of a down year. But after that article, I don't think that Beane had any choice.
  5. The problem with Diggs is that he's not the kind of WR that is "always open" like a Jefferson or Chase. His elite skill is route running, which can be taken away by defenses. He's not running by DBs with elite speed or going up to get 50/50 balls.
  6. Or watching film...
  7. Loser Josh Allen is holding puppies while Mahomes is holding Lombardis.
  8. We didn’t know what was happening behind the scenes. All we saw was cryptic social media posts.
  9. I thought that the $30 million is dead cap, not actual money. I was under the impression that the Bills are paying Diggs nothing this year.
  10. If the Bills go 7-10 with no Josh Allen injury, it means that he’s not a good player without Diggs and no amount of draft capital will fix that.
  11. Not only bounces. Refs can determine a season. If they don't pick up that flag in NE or if they don't throw that flag in KC, the season could have been entirely different. And both were borderline calls.
  12. I love how the OP wrote that whole thing just to have an excuse to predict his favorite team winning the SB again on the message board of another team.
  13. She probably is drawing up plays, but Mahomes was clearly joking when he said that they might have to put one in.
  14. I have been the Flutie Flakes for years
  15. Because they just want to come in here and post their record prediction that they have been posting in every other thread and leave.
  16. How dare you write a post on TBD giving credit to Beane and/or McDermott! That's simply not allowed here and thankfully the TBD Sherrif's department has come to the rescue.
  17. My wild theory. I think Mac Jones could run that Shannahan offense as well as Purdy and Tua.
  18. Drew Magary used to write these on Deadspin. Now he does not. That it all.
  19. How many TEs do they need?
  20. We're not unique. Here is a thread on Jungle Noise about the same topic. They are worried about 3rd RBs and end of the rotation DEs. https://thebengalsboard.com/thread-38887.html
  21. I think that we're all too involved in parts of the game that fans didn't used to pay attention to. The combine is televised and mock drafts are a thing. People have strong reactions to 7th round picks. Then we get a lot more access via social media to training camp practices. So we form strong opinions about players when we don't really have the full information. Then, when we start sharing those opinions on social media and message boards, two things happen. First of all, a sort of groupthink sets in where those opinions become narratives and then facts. Secondly, the Internet doesn't allow people to change their hot takes because everyone has "receipts." Long story short, no one stressed about end of the roster cuts in the 90's because we had no idea who these guys were. Now we have enough info to form opinions but not enough to form informed opinions.
  22. Beane drafts more on physical traits than college production. Sometimes that works out and he finds value and sometimes it doesn't.
  23. Carolina claimed three CBs and yet didn't claim Hardy. Perhaps we were overvaluing his performance as a CB in preseason games?
  24. He was an NFL social media star. And his fiancé was a part of that.
  25. You’re splitting hairs. Of course he’s not good. If he was, he’d be starting for the Raiders.
