  1. I think that we're all too involved in parts of the game that fans didn't used to pay attention to. The combine is televised and mock drafts are a thing. People have strong reactions to 7th round picks. Then we get a lot more access via social media to training camp practices. So we form strong opinions about players when we don't really have the full information. Then, when we start sharing those opinions on social media and message boards, two things happen. First of all, a sort of groupthink sets in where those opinions become narratives and then facts. Secondly, the Internet doesn't allow people to change their hot takes because everyone has "receipts." Long story short, no one stressed about end of the roster cuts in the 90's because we had no idea who these guys were. Now we have enough info to form opinions but not enough to form informed opinions.
  2. Beane drafts more on physical traits than college production. Sometimes that works out and he finds value and sometimes it doesn't.
  3. Carolina claimed three CBs and yet didn't claim Hardy. Perhaps we were overvaluing his performance as a CB in preseason games?
  4. He was an NFL social media star. And his fiancé was a part of that.
  5. You’re splitting hairs. Of course he’s not good. If he was, he’d be starting for the Raiders.
  6. For people saying that we’re overreacting to cuts to the end of the roster, nobody is upset about that. We were just hoping against hope that the regime had a plan at WR and now that we know that they are rolling with Shakir, rookie Coleman, and a bunch of JAGs we’re just lashing out.
  7. And none of that matters. What does matter is the lack of talent at key impact positions like WR and pass rush. Beane traded Diggs and let Gabe walk and replaced them with JAGs. There was no Floyd move on defense. I just don’t get doing a cap reset in the middle of a QB’s prime years.
  8. This years narrative will be “Josh Allen is nothing without Diggs.”
  9. Also, people hate McDermott so they want to pin all bad decisions on him.
  10. They traded for a returner today
  11. Beane made this bed, now he (and all of us) have got to lie in it.
  12. So Dion Cain, who the BIlls signed exactly two weeks ago as a camp replacement, has actually made the team. Fantastic.
  13. Sorry. I'm just angry that we will have to watch this all year.
  14. Why the F not? We already gave Chase F-ing Claypool a try.
  15. 5 seasons, 5 teams, 9 catches for 124 yards. Yeah, that'll fix everything.
  16. We are already down to 5 WITH MVS. Coleman Shakir Samuel Hollins MVS Am I missing someone?
  17. I knew someone would bump this one today.
  18. Time flies (the blocked video is Gillette going absolutely nuts when Mac got pulled for Bailey two years ago against the Bears)
  19. Apparently, Marino sent out the Hardy injury to his super secret club members.
  20. The entire NFL, especially players, are part of a system. It's like football development inc. You go to position camps. Then you go to a top high school, moving if you need to. Then you go to a top college program. Josh did none of that. The path would have been a move to Fresno or, even better, Folsom. Then he would have played at Cal or Stanford. Look at Gronk, who left Williamsville to go to Pennsylvania to get more visibility. I think that NFL players feel like he didn't pay his dues or play by the system to get where he is and they resent it.
  21. They kept Hamler. It was down to three, and they kept the guy that can return punts in a pinch. Also, Hamler has actually produced a bit at the NFL level.
  22. He's so good that he's got his own theme song
  23. Raheem Blackshear
  24. Past performance. A force to only be rivaled by "I loved him in the draft" in producing outsized message board love.
