SI Article on Trades That Should Happen (a few Bills ones)
Low Positive replied to RyanC883's topic in The Stadium Wall
I read that. I assume that all these trades are occurring in a vacuum, because otherwise the Saints would have trouble fielding a team. but seriously, I like the idea of flipping a pick for a half year of Hendrickson. Pass rushers, unlike DBs and WRs, are pretty much plug and play. -
In the Lamar Jackson era, the Ravens have swept the Steelers only once. That was in 2019. Since 2020, the Ravens have gone 2-8 in the regular season against the Steelers. They have a hard time against Tomlin, who seems to have Lamar's number.
-
Not unless something drastically changes. They have looked lost in their two games without Burrow and they have Lions, Packers, and Steelers in their next three games. They'll be at 2-5 by the time they get to a winnable game against the Jets and even then, I can't see how they can move the ball on anyone with that QB behind that OL.
-
Why? Ravens announced today that both Marlon Humphries and Roquon Smith will miss 2-3 weeks with soft tissue injuries. There is a real chance that they'll enter thein week 7 bye at 1-5.

I don't know why, but something about being fast and able to catch a football turns guys into entitled babies. It doesn't seem to happen to guys who run fast after being handed a football.

This better? -
Mike Brown to Bengals fans: "No, you can't have kirk cousins. You've got Jake Browning and Brett Rypien at home."

I never go on Twitter/X anymore. I go on there today, and I see that Antonio Brown is making Tyreek Hill baby daddy jokes. This is indeed the craziest possible timeline.

Those odds will change dramatically if they lose this week to Houston.

Brown, Oliver, and Milano are practicing but limited. -
It also requires that the QB stand in there and take a huge hit. Spags is betting that most will not and will instead throw the ball away or turtle.

I spent the better part of yesterday looking at the all-22. They are doing a bunch of things that I didn't see last year. They are bringing 7 guys to the line and having 3 drop into coverage. On one play, Bosa dropped into coverage. They are also playing with 9 guys in the box more often than they did, where Taron Johnson plays more like a 3rd LB than a CB. And there are most certainly a lot of other things that I don't see. The upshot of it is that they are trying some new things and the guys don't seem comfortable out there. And that does fall on coaching. But the Bills are not unique in this. Last year, the Eagles and Ravens had some new players and scheme elements on defense and it took half a season for them to come together. The 2024 Ravens had a pass defense as bad as our run defense for the early part of the season, but then they made a few minor adjustments and it tightened up. But if what you want is not improvement but your pound of flesh, hope for losses in these next two going into the bye. That'll get Babich fired.

That "disciplined crew" had 5 turnovers in week 3. -
Seasons can end fast in the wildcard round. Everyone here in Cincinnati was so happy to have made the postseason, and it will most likely be over in just two days.

With Joe Burrow's injury, that division went from the toughest in the NFL to one of the weakest. But now both the Ravens and Bengals seem broken. Both teams seem to have quit on games that they were still in. I'm not saying that Lamar is not hurt, but they quit before he went out. That's hard to come back from. Here's Zac Taylor and Ja'Marr Chase. Looks like Diggs and McDermott at the end.

We took care of that without @Simon. He's trained us so well.

I'll ask this again. Did the Bills lose on Sunday? Because this board feels like it does after a loss. In many ways, it's even worse. The Bills held the Saints to the same number of yards and points as every other team that played them without the benefit of two kick return TDs. They say there is no such thing as a moral victory, but is there such a thing as a moral loss? I guess there is. How about this for something constructive? The Patriots haven't won a game this year in which they didn't get a least one punt return for a TD. In fact, in both of their wins, they were gifted 14 points due to long kick returns. I'm not talking about a return out to midfield. I'm talking returns either for a TD or to the opponent's 15. #1 thing the Bills can't do this week is to let Marcus Jones return punts. He's been the Pats biggest weapon and it's not even close. Tell that new punter to kick touchbacks or to punt out of bounds. Don't let this happen: -

Did they trade for Derrick Henry? Because that's what Vrabel had that gave the Bills fits. -

Yep. Lots of people in Buffalo and Chicago with various spellings of this name. -
The game was in Miami.

What happened is that Cam Lewis starts in to cover a wide open Brandon Cooks and recognizes Rattler's scramble a split second too late. Here's what he sees the moment he decides to break inside towards Cooks.
