Mack Hollins signs with Patriots
Low Positive replied to BillsFanForever19's topic in The Stadium Wall
The fact that this is happening again tells you that it's ownership dictating quick fixes to systemic problems. -
Can I call you Dan Marino?

The Pats had over 120M to spend. They are spending all of it. -

I know that, but he was almost a mascot last year. I think the locker room is worse for his loss. -
Jesse Palmer is not Josh Palmer.

Pats fans on X hate the signing. -
Did I miss something? What are the Giants doing at QB?

Somehow Randall Cobb will unretire, play for the Steelers, and get 140 targets and 600 yards.
-
Pat Freiermuth has 22 more receiving yards than Dalton Kincaid in the same number of games, and yet to people here Kincaid is a bust and Freiermuth is an elite weapon.

They do that every offseason. They would be better off having a down year to reset their cap and roster, but you have to respect an organization that does everything it can to compete every year.

I was thinking more about having to trade for Cooper and now it appears that we have recreated that same hole.

121.8M in cap space with a directive from the owner to spend it all will cause a front office to overpay. This is like that old Richard Pryor movie Brewster's Millions.
-
And he goes to a better team and doesn't even have to move houses.
-
It's just that the team has obvious needs and we went through a cap reset last year. This offseason was supposed to be the payoff where we built the second version of the Josh Allen-led Bills. And so far, the team is worse on paper than it was last year.

Darnold went and played with Jefferson and Addison for a year and revitalized his career. He then proceeds to sign with a team that just released almost all of their offensive weapons so that he can ruin it all again. But at least he got paid.
-
But my cap space point still stands. In fact, according to Over the Cap, they have 121.8M to spend. They will get anyone they want.
-
Not surprising. They had over 90M in cap space.
-
They amassed an ocean of cap space in a year with a weak FA class. They will spend a lot on money and only get marginally better.
-
You know he'll make them go get Allen Lazard.
-
What I hate is when a player has a son, names him after himself, and then puts "Sr." on the back of his jersey.
-
It's so dumb. We're meant to believe that TB and Hassan Reddick negotiated a contract in 3 minutes.

I used to think that, but the funding rule is not mandatory. It reads "may" not "shall": https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/nfls-funding-rule-isnt-mandatory-did-the-browns-make-escrow-payment-for-deshaun-watson-deal
