I agree with this. Beene, to his credit, looks for value in FA. That means that we don't get the high dollar guys but it also means that we don't get contracts that we regret. But it makes you feel helpless as a fan.

Exactly! The players on other teams are only going to watch Bills games if they are on national TV or if they are playing the Bills. The Stealers didn't play the Bills last year so AB probably didn't watch a single Bills game. So, all anyone has to go on are the numbers and pre-draft assessments. Comments like those made by Jalen Ramsey certainly didn't help; I'm sure most players were laughing at the joke.

A lot of NFL pundits declared Josh Allen a bust on draft day. And if you are only looking at numbers, he didn't do enough to force them to declare that they were mistaken. In order to see Josh Allen's progress, you had to actually watch the games and most national NFL people are not watching Bills games.

I barely understand what the means, but what I do know is that if you give Belichick two weeks to break down film he will come up with a scheme to take away any trends that he can see on film. John Sullivan (Rams center) said that the Cover 4 was something that the Pats had not done all year. So the Pats completely changed their defense in those two weeks while the Rams kept their offense intact. If you watched the Chiefs all year, outside of that one playoff game against the Colts they had to win every game in a shootout. Well, defense might not mean much in the modern NFL, but it sure as hell means something in overtime when you lose the coin toss. Chiefs used all their available cap space and draft capital on one side of the ball and paid the price today.

Given what happened with the DB giving Jackson the ball after the INT and Mayfield’s comments, I think Grego used this “betrayal” as motivation all week to fire up the troops. Kind of like how the Bills used Ramsey’s comments.
