We don't have the mentality to win close games
Low Positive replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
And just the tone of this board today pisses me off. Everyone all weeks harps on how we can't win the close one. We go out and win a close game in terrible conditions and everyone wonders what's wrong with the offense because we didn't win in a blowout. The Bills are apparently not "championship caliber" like the almighty Chiefs, who have had the exact same start to the season as the Bills (2 blow outs and 2 close games with one road loss). This is supposed to be victory Monday, and its all doom and gloom. I guess its BBFS, but get over it people. The Bills are really good. Enjoy it! -
How about those championship caliber Chiefs in Indianapolis last week, huh? That was four quarters of solid football on their part.

A Few Thoughts About the Ravens Game, in no particular order
Low Positive replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
It hit Prince Emili. I don't know if it was tipped or it just hit him, but he caused the INT. -
Their home city just had a hurricane hit. Some of their homes may have been destroyed. They had to break retinue to practice in Miami and live in hotels all week. Those things.

A Few Thoughts About the Ravens Game, in no particular order
Low Positive replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Ravens picked up that first on the very next play, so it had no impact on the outcome of the game. It probably didn't feel that way live. -
You can't just take that one game. The Chiefs have had no weather to overcome. Every one of their games has been on a fast track with little to no wind. In fact, they haven't even played an afternoon game outside yet (two inside, two night games). Also, they have played 4 games. In two of them, they have looked like an unstoppable offensive machine and in the other two they looked out of sync. They won one of those less than great games by three points. Sound like another team we all know and love?

They told my daughter to avoid all mental stimulation after a concussion. That meant that she had to avoid screen time and didn't go to school for two days.

Jamison Crowder, reported with broken ankle

He's been exposed... -
It took me a minute to get that this was Stavros. He's obviously playing a character because he doesn't use that accent in his standup. BTW, if you haven't seen his standup, you should seek it out. He's really good a crowd work.

People want to find meaning in the randomness. That was a bounce that went their way. when Andrews broke up that INT, he had no way of knowing that it would shoot straight into the arms of Duvernay. Also, why doesn't Buffalo have any homers in its local sports media?

That was the point when I thought that it just wasn't our day.

Poor coaching by McDermott is becoming a theme

He was Late Late Late because he was running backwards to avoid a sack. Hard to keep your eyes downfield in those cases. -
Bills open at -14 next week against Steelers
Low Positive replied to Steel City Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’ve watched every Steeler game this year because they’ve been in local TV. They can’t move the ball and they can’t score. They scored 20 against the Jets yesterday and 10 of those points were gifts from Zach Wilson. -

If your buddy is a Steeler fan, he’s grasping at straws to find a positive. It’s what fans do with rookie QBs. I had that game on, and Pickett looked lost out there. -
NFL WEEK #4 - Bills at Ravens - Post Game Thread
Low Positive replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think on a wet day like that, having a running QB is a real weapon. I just don’t like him running at the end of games that we have already won. -

I think people in here haven’t watched the Steelers play this year. I have. Their one win required a blocked extra point, mostly caused by an injury to the Bengals long snapper. Then they lost to the Pats, Browns and Jets. They could win on Sunday because they are an NFL team and “any given Sunday,” but that line is appropriate. Also, Steeler Nation is HUGE, and a big line like that will cause a bunch of them to bet the Steelers even though the Steelers have a really hard time scoring against bad defenses. I don’t hold Mitch completely at fault. The Steelers OL is so bad that it makes the current Bills like look like the 80’s Hogs. -

Watching your team get run on is worse than getting thrown on as a fan. -

Isaiah McKenzie had a first but ran backward. Drives me nuts. -
That game also featured a lot of empty seats. Bills fans in the 80s didn’t pay to watch bad football.

I was at Kay Stevenson’s last game as Bills head coach as a kid. It was against the Vikings. Bills fans had bags over their heads.

I don’t want to keep repeating this, but you really have to watch that Tom Rinaldi piece on Tua and his father that aired during the pre-game of the NCG against LSU. There is no way that his psychopath father considers a head injury a reason to leave a game. I mean, Tua got beaten with a belt until his body was covered in welts if he threw INTs in high school games. This was to “toughen him up.” Tua still lives with his parents who travel to road games. His father went to the hospital in Cincinnati and low and behold he left the hospital. Probably AMA. If I was a betting man, I would put big money on Tua playing against the Jets.
