Trade Deadline (Nov 1) Bills Rumors / Speculation
Low Positive replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh yeah, elite WR or pass catching TE too. Just not RB, especially an injury prone one due for a huge payday. -
I've never had this much reaction to a post. I guess I just need to post idiotic hot takes and I'll get all the fame and fortune. I could be the Skip Bayless of TSW. Tebow Rules! LeBron sucks!

Yeah, I was probably too extreme in my take but my main point was that BB is not benching Mac Jones for Bailey Zappe. I'll stand by that.

We could have focused on OL and a running game like the colts and paid a OG 24 million per year. Then we too could win games 12-9! -

Who are we cutting? His cap hit over the next two years (2023 and 2024) 19.5 million dollars. -

The only thing any team should trade a first for is a QB or a pass rusher. Full stop. -
They're not doing that. Mac Jones has mid-level NFL starter written all over him and as such he is the perfect QB for New England's system. As @PatsFanNH noted (to the chagrin to so many here), BB doesn't want an Allen or a Mahomes because their drive to make plays can result in mistakes. Mac Jones doesn't do anything splashy, but he also doesn't make a lot of mistakes. And as his ability to read coverages pre-snap evolves, he'll make even fewer mistakes. Brady in many ways, at least in NE, was like that. The only thing that Brady ever did to make your jaw drop was come up huge in clutch moments. But he did that by being consistent and making the right reads, not by making spectacular plays due to immense physical gifts like Allen, Mahomes or Lamar Jackson.

I just cruised other teams boards. The only fan base more miserable than Bills Mafia right now is Bronco's Country. I understand it from their standpoint, but why is this place so down on our 3-1 team?

What should have happened in the aftermath of 13 seconds? I'm sure you'll say "I want them held accountable." What does that look like? Tell us all the exact moves. Who gets fired? Who replaces them (names please)? How many years of dead cap hell do we have to endure this time before getting the proper pieces in place for this new coaching staff's systems? How many years do we then allow for that system to take hold before evaluating its success or failure? It's easy as a fan to call for the coach's head on a platter, but the steps following that move can set a franchise back years.

You're seeing black and yellow and making assumptions based upon the past. I've watched almost every minute of every Steelers' game this year because they have been on local Cincinnati TV. They look like a different team without Watt. They sacked Zach Wilson once and didn't sack Mac Jones at all. They have 10 sacks on the year; 7 of them came in week 1 against the Bengals when TJ Watt was in the game. Every team that they have played has run on them. Their secondary is not good except for Fitzpatrick. The steelers are ranked 21 in the NFL as a passing defense, giving up 252.5 yards per game and they've played a rusty Joe Burrow, Jacoby Brissett, Mac Jones and Zach Wilson. Success is not guaranteed of course because it's the NFL, but there is nothing in the stats or from the eyeball test that says that the Steelers D will dominate our OL. We should put up a lot of points.

The NFL is jealous of the global reach of the NBA. But basketball, like association football, is a sport played all around the world. The NFL has to realise that gridiron football is like Australian Rules Football. The AFL is the most popular sport in Australia but only has a niche following elsewhere.

Here’s the stats on the Bills Vikings game that everyone keeps referencing: https://www.nfl.com/games/bills-at-vikings-2018-reg-3 Chris Ivory was the leading rusher and receiver. The Vikings gifted us 10 points with turnovers deep in their own end. The Bills benefited from two HUGE penalties in their opening TD drive. Everyone remembers Josh jumping over Barr, but Milano had a monster game. The Bills D won that game.

Most local afternoon sports talk guys across the country are like this.

Not unless the Steelers D can hold the Bills offense to 6 points in good weather.

What's your all time favorite NFL play by play call?
Low Positive replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
Maybe not the best one, but they did name the play on the spot. -
I assume that you meant to say that the Steelers OL is not very good. Because even that is an understatement.
-
But we have the personnel to cosplay as the 2017 vikings. We could reenact the Minneapolis Miracle.
-
We remember that Vikings game as the Josh Allen coming out party, but looking back at the stats it was as much on the Bills D as on Allen. Milano had a pick and a sack. The Vikings were held scoreless through 3 quarters. If the Steelers are able to do that to the BIlls (doubtful), then they have a really good shot to win the game. Also, the huge line was because the Bills had been awful through two games and it was only game 3 of the Kirk Cousins era in Minnesota. There was still hope that Cousins would turn to be elite. Spoiler alert: he didn't.

I know. People seem to have forgotten weeks 1 and 2.
