  1. I remember hearing that game in my mother's car on the way to Rochester to see my Grandmother for Thanksgiving. I was 7.
  2. You can't predict anything this year. It really is a week to week league. Look at the Bengals. One week they blow out the Ravens in Baltimore. The next two weeks they lost to the Jets and got stomped by the Browns. Then, after the bye they kill the Steelers and get hammered by the Chargers. None of those results are what people would have predicted based upon past results.
  3. For the most part, fans don't enjoy watching their football teams play. It's more a combination of a greek tragedy and torture. Our gameday thread for the Colts game looked exactly like this:
  4. They need to do something about the timing of college football coaching changes. No coach coach quits on his team on the eve of the NCAA basketball tournament, but there is a very real chance that Luke Fickle will do just this. Brian Kelly did this to Cincinnati when he took the ND job. Just imaging an NFL coach taking another job just before their team is scheduled to play a playoff game. I’m not much of a college football fan but I do follow OSU and UC because I live in Cincinnati. I have no problem with Fickle taking that ND job, but UC should get to play their likely playoff game first.
  5. So, as far as I can tell from listening to the analysis, it’s ok to be one dimensional just as long as that one dimension is running the football.
  6. That's funny, but a lot of guys who go into broadcasting after they retire will go out of their way to criticize their former team so as to not appear as a homer. The classic example of this was Reggie Miller on TNT, who has nothing good to say about the Pacers even when they are playing well.
  7. The NFL has shifted, seemingly overnight, from a passing league to a running league. I mean, TEN and IND don't even have mediocre passing games yet they keep winning games. Mac Jones' world beating stat line against ATL was 207 yards, with one TD and one INT. When they beat CAR, he had 139 with one TD and one INT. Yet, they keep winning. We were told for years that in order to win you had to have a 300 yd passer and a defense designed to stop 300 yard passers. This year, all that seemed to change overnight.
  8. We've been told for years that this is a "passing league," but now this year so many of the contending teams have crap QBs and just run the ball down all the time. Ryan f-ing Tannehill has a good chance to play in the SB against Mathew Stafford. It feels like the NFL has shifted back to the 80's.
  9. Le'Veon's strength in Pittsburgh was tap dancing beyond the line, waiting for the holes to open. He sucked in NY because the holes never opened.
  10. The Bucks brought in Brady, Formette, Gronk and Antonio Brown and won a Super Bowl last year.
  11. So which one of you guys is Spagnola? I gotta say, I have mad respect for the multi-year troll job. Someone is really committed to a joke.
  12. This DET/PIT game is going to end up in a tie.
  13. This is a strange week. Seems the Browns getting rid of OBJ really rallied the troops.
  14. It was the KC game the year after that sticks out to me. McKelvin muffed a punt late in a game that ended 17-13. We finished at 9-7. If we would have won that game we would have been 10-6 and could have made the playoffs.
  15. Every aspect of that tweet is incorrect.
  16. The integrity of professional football was on the line tonight and college football won. We might as just as well start running the straight spread option. It works.
  17. Kyler Murray states down his first option and somehow completes passes. All my life I’ve been told that this shouldn’t work in the NFL but here we are.
  18. I hate the fact that Arizona and Baltimore are both running straight college offenses and winning. I mean FFS, Murray claps for the snap count and never progresses beyond his first read like he’s playing for Mike Leach at Washington State.
  19. My understanding of the case is that Watson had trouble understanding the difference between massage parlors and licensed massage therapists. He expected the same outcome, so to speak.
  20. I understand that football is played in the elements, but rain games on grass are nearly unwatchable.
  21. It’s actually a genius game plan in the rain. It’s actually easier to get a dpi than to complete a 5 yard pass.
  22. He said “we were getting killed.” He only played in Buffalo once (11/3/1985), and it didn’t rain that day. And the Bengals won. In fact, he only lost to the Bills once and it was in Cincinnati on a dry day.
  23. Here’s the kicker. I just went through old Bengals seasons and Chris Collinsworth never lost a game in Buffalo.
  24. This is the worst year to need a QB in the draft since 2013. There is really no one there.
