  1. Oddsmakers had the Bengals at an o/u of 6.5 wins before the season. Nobody saw this coming. They lost to the Bears at home in week two and got smoked by the Browns, again at home. They have won three very close games. At Tennessee last week, if that ball doesn't pop straight up off of the reciever's hands the Titans probably drive down and kick the game winning FG. I have no idea what to think, but the NFL right now is a league with very little daylight between teams.
  2. I really think there is something to this. The Chiefs flipped the switch off and couldn’t ramp it up again, especially when the momentum had shifted.
  3. You’re right. I just overreacted because I live in Cincinnati and I’m dreading the next two weeks. It’s like everyone’s having a party and you’re not invited.
  4. About the same. I live in Cincinnati and it’s like buffalo, but with less snow, no lake and a lot more hilly.
  5. A winning team with mountains of cap space is going to attract a lot of free agents. The Bills, on the other hand, will have to make hard choices.
  6. Because it probably got buried up thread, I’ll say this again. This is the worst case scenario for the Bills. Cincinnati is going to the SB and have 50 million in cap space this off season. The Bills are screwed.
  7. Bengals are going to be a dynasty. Going to the SB with 50 million in cap space this off season.
  8. Bengals are winning this game.
  9. Game on…
  10. By all accounts Beane is making a hard push for Dorsey but he gets to make his own choice. He might choose to bolster his reputation as a QB whisperer in NY. There is a lot less risk in that than trying to follow Daboll. Any regression in Buffalo will be blamed on him.
  11. You gotta think with the ego of an NFL coach. Ken Dorsey thinks he's responsible for Josh's development. He thinks that his best path to an NFL head coaching job is to just work his magic on Daniel Jones. After all, he's the quarterback whisperer.
  12. I live in Cincinnati, so I'm going to Costco on Sunday at 3:00. No lines.
  13. Burrow and Herbert are more traditional picket passers who had success at the college level. They both throw a very pretty ball and run traditional NFL offenses. Coaches and GMs understand how they are doing what they are doing, so they can project that success going forward. Burrow gets love from fans because people saw him dominate in college. Also, people don't have to admit that they were wrong in praising Burrow; he was a can't-miss prospect who is making everyone's projections come to fruition. Even after what he did in those two playoff games, a lot of people can't believe what they are seeing with Josh. It defies everything they know about scouting and player development. They say that you can't teach accuracy. Well, he's well over 60% now and he threw only 4 incomplete passes in a playoff game. Even the way he players defies belief. He can run like Cam but he throws like Mahomes. This should not be possible. So, in order to admit that Josh is better than BUrrow or Herbert NFL scouts and GM's would have to admit that the entire way that they scout and evaluate players is wrong. Think about it from their point of view. If you are a GM or a coach on a team that needs a QB, do you want to think that the path to success is to take the top QB in the SEC or PAC12, or go out and find a unicorn and hope he develops?
  14. Right after the game, I thought that this was the worst loss in our history. But, upon further reflection, it’s not even close. To me, the worst losses were whatever game knocked us from playoff contention for 18 straight years. And before the Kelly teams 1984 and 1985 were even worse. We were the worst team in the NFL. The stadium was empty and people wore bags on their heads. As a kid, sitting in Rich Stadium in September 1984 watching us get beat by the Vikings in Kay Stevenson’s last game as coach was far worse than Sunday night because things felt so hopeless.
  15. Burrow has a really sarcastic sense of humor, and some of that boasting that rubs people the wrong way is done tongue in cheek.
  16. The difference in 2006 is that the the AFC Championship was played in Indianapolis. We need to get them at home next time.
  17. I want the Chiefs to win this one and lose the next one for personal reasons. I live in Cincinnati and the next two weeks would be unbearable knowing that it should have been us.
  18. He might not want one.
  19. The problem with that comparison is that there was no other team in the AFC at that time on the level of KC. This is starting to get a Brady/Manning feel to it.
  20. At least in the playoffs
  21. i needed that
  22. I know that we can’t enjoy it, but this is a really good football game.
  23. do they hold up the start of our game until this one is over?
  24. Brady made Akers fumble?
