  1. I was surprised to learn when I first moved to Ohio that college football is bigger in huge portions of the country than the NFL. That also goes for the NFL talking heads, who pay as much attention to the college games as they do NFL games because draft hot-takes are an important part of their job. I think that the reason that the national media LOVES the Bengals is that their key players were highly-regarded prospects coming into the draft from powerhouse teams. Joe Burrow ran the BEST OFFENSE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY Chase was his primary receiver on the BEST OFFENSE IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY Tee Higgins caught passes from Trevor Lawrence in HUGE games Joe Mixon played in huge college games at Oklahoma, as did Perine. Now lets look at the Bills Josh Allen: Wyoming Stefon Diggs: Maryland Gabe Davis: South Florida Devin Singletary: Florida Atlantic Dawson Knox: Ole Miss, but he was a project who saw little production in college The Bengals are a team of blue chip prospects who were easy to project coming into the league. The Bills are a team full of guys who are defying the odds. The Bills also call into question the notion that college production is the primary indicator of NFL success. It makes scouting players coming into the draft a lot more difficult for media personalities because college production is all they have to evaluate. Also, everyone loves Joe Burrow because nobody has an embarrassing draft-night hot take to live down. You know that whenever Josh Allen throws an INT, every NFL talking head (except Kiper) gets that little spark of hope that maybe, just maybe, he or she (I'm looking right at you Mina Kimes) will be proven right in the end.
  2. I’ve been thinking of why Cincinnati fans can blow off close playoff wins as not being concerning. The Bengals hadn’t won a playoff game in 30 years until last January. Then they won three in a row in close, miraculous fashion. They just kept winning. They didn’t blow teams out. There was no offensive explosions. They beat the Titans 19-17 with a FG at the gun after getting a tipped ball INT. Then, they somehow comeback from being down 21-3 in the AFC Championship Game. And now they get a miraculous win, made by a local boy. It really must seem to them they are simply unbeatable in the AFC playoffs.
  3. Just keep him away from your 14 year old daughter.
  4. I know that, but they should have a coach hiring season right after the Super Bowl. That would be a massive media event that would keep the NFL relevant for just about the only period when people stop paying attention to the league.
  5. The Panthers are being much better about this than the Giants were with Daboll last year. All of the game planning and offensive install is long done by Saturday. And judging from the offensive performance in KC last year, I don't think that the interviews hurt Daboll's preparations at all.
  6. This is especially true because Mike Brown's lack of actual money makes it difficult to offer contracts with guaranteed money. It's not that he's cheap. It's that he doesn't have the funds to meet the CBA's escrow requirements. He'll have to do it for Burrow and Chase, but the rest of them will probably walk. They have to win now, and Burrow knows this regardless of what he says.
  7. I think some people here have watched every second of every Bills game, but have only watched highlights of the Bengals. People are talking about the Bengals like they are the 2007 Pats.
  8. Could the Jets be the landing spot for a washed up former GB quarterback yet again? It's like a perfect circle.
  9. Punting stats are really interesting to look at. The Bengals have the 9th fewest punts in the NFL at 59 punts, but as we all know the Bills have the fewest number of punts at 45. What's interesting is massive leap that the Bills took offensively in 2020 is reflected in punt numbers. In 2019, a year that the Bills made the playoffs, they had the fourth most punts at 79. The following year, they had the fewest number of punts at 41.
  10. Everything you write Bengals fans could also write. They keep winning despite playing some bad football for stretches. joe Burrow was outplayed by Tyler Huntley last week. They needed a fumble return to win last week. Neither team has played to their potential in months. But the Bills are playing at home.
  11. I’m in the same boat, but because I live in Cincinnati so that was the game on my main screen every week. The Bills, of all teams, were a much better rushing team than the Bengals. The Bengals will make plays in the passing game, but they will also go cold. Their only two blowouts were against bad teams (Falcons and Panthers) at home. They shouldn’t blow us out, but we may have to win a close one. These are big boy games.
  12. I’ll just say this. If Edmunds wasn’t hurt at all this year, we would have 1 loss. He’s that big of a key to how we defend the middle of the field.
  13. Just as an aside, I’m happy that we’re finally here. This is a huge game between two powerhouse teams. I dreamed of being in this game for the better part of two decades. Win or lose, the Buffalo Bills are part of the conversation. Burrow also has to play better than he did against Baltimore two weeks in a row. He didn’t turn it over, but he took no risks. You can’t beat the Bills by playing it safe. Should be an epic game.
  14. Maybe Vegas knows something, but the 49ers are only 3 point favorites at home against the Cowboys. As an objective observer that seems really low.
  15. If trolling is an art, Airseven is Van Gogh. Best troll I have ever seen on any sports message board.
  16. And if they play like they did against the Ravens they’ll lose. Something has got to give.
  17. I don't know, but they did. But that game was weird. If the Chiefs score a TD at the end of the first half, the Chiefs probably go to the Super Bowl and Tyreek Hill is still a member of the Chiefs.
  18. Everyone, go look at this and tell me how the Bengals are like an unbeatable team that you cannot afford to make any mistakes against. https://www.espn.com/nfl/team/schedule/_/name/cin/cincinnati-bengals
  19. You could swap Burrow and Josh if you wanted to. Their games are just so different that its hard to compare. But Josh at 5? That's pure trolling.
