Greg Cosell - “I don’t think they have a number 1 WR”
Low Positive replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall
It was actually more than that. He was on a career best pace until after the Giants game. It's like he fell off a cliff. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/gamelog/_/id/2976212/stefon-diggs -

The Ravens don't have one either. They are probably going to the SB with no WR having over 1,000 yards. Zay Flowers led the team with 858, but no one else even had 600 yards. Also, Lamar is their leading rusher. -
I hate this so much. I should be wracked with nerves over an upcoming Championship game. Instead, I'm worried about losing a LBs coach. But if I'm him, I get out of Buffalo now. Being DC for a HC who just spent a year calling plays is a thankless job with someone looking over your shoulder with each call. I would stay away from Daboll in NY, but the GB and Miami DC jobs are great opportunities. I just wish that he could stay here. I hate losing young coaches.

Jason Vrable should be interviewed for our OC position
Low Positive replied to NeverOutNick's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree here. I give all the success in SF to Kyle Shanahan, but some of that magic certainly rubbed off on Mike McDaniel and Bobby Slowik as play designers and play callers. They learned from the best, just like Lafluer. -
Bills to interview Thad Lewis for OC

Brian Callahan just got a HC job and he has called zero plays in college or the NFL. Not a one. -

This thread is about ready to turn very ugly. -

I agree with all of this. It does seem like the #1 qualification for becoming an NFL coach is having a father who was an NFL coach. I mean the Bills have a Shula and a Shurmur on staff. But Thad Lewis' experience in the NFL consists of two years as an assistant WR coach and one year as a QB coach. I would think that a few more years as an actual position coach would be necessary before getting an OC position. So I think that it would take one heck of an interview for him to get the job. -

Come to think of it, this might actually be an interview for QB coach. There will be a new OC in Tampa so there could be some shake-up in the position coaches. -

They are using a completely unqualified candidate to satisfy the Rooney Rule. They're giving the job to Joe Brady.- 156 replies

Falcons hire Rams DC Raheem Morris as head coach
Low Positive replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it is the best opening this year. #2 pick, lots of other high picks, mountains of cap space and a clean slate with a patient owner. Even their fans don’t expect to win right away. -

The new ownership in Washington is the most patient in professional sports. This regime will be given the space and resources for a full rebuild. The Process originates with Josh Harris’ Sixers. -

Harbaugh was the domino that needed to fall. Once he choose the Chargers, Atlanta moved to plan B. Plan A in Carolina was Morris, but they were forced to move to plan B. The rumors are that Washington will hire Ben Johnson as soon as the Lions season is over. Who knows what Seattle is doing.

When Ben Johnson goes to Washington, that will be a great fit. -
Consider the source. Lombardi was the GM of the Cleveland Browns from 2013-2014 and his son was the OC in Las Vegas until McDaniels was fired. He's salty. "If only they had given us the time, we could have shown 'em!"

Hey, it's Joe Burrow who's not your average Joe: And hey, Joe? Athens is not a small town, it's a college town. And why were you living there? Because your dad was the defensive coordinator for Ohio University. So don't give me that it was all hard work for you. You were born with the football equivalent of a silver spoon in your mouth.
