  1. That is a heck of a basket to have your eggs in though.
  2. Woody Johnson is not getting any younger. He's driving all of this.
  3. I like Gabe a lot and hope he stays, but it has to be noted that he got 20% of his yards and 29% of his TDs in a single game.
  4. Brandon Beane doesn’t care about winning next season. Last year he went all in and failed. This year, our division rivals are going all in and we’re making marginal improvements. I’m usually a very positive poster, but the whole world can see that the Bills need improved at the WR position and Beane shuffled the deck chairs on a sinking ship. And this year’s draft doesn’t have a star at WR. I don’t see a positive outcome here.
  5. People who say "The Great Andy Reid fired McDermott" always fail to mention that the great Andy Reid was fired the very next year by the Eagles. He used McDermott as a scapegoat to keep his job for one more year and the D got worse.
  6. Exactly. For a guy that doesn't have an agent Lamar sure as heck has a lot of agents.
  7. Newton’s career-altering shoulder injury happened making a tackle after throwing an iNT.
  8. Bill Belichick Todd Bowles Dennis Allen DeMeco Ryans is probably going to call the plays in Houston Outside of BB, not the best list. It must be noted that this might not work, and it would not be unheard of for this to change before week 1. He has someone on the defensive staff that has called plays in the NFL before so a change could happen after he sees how it goes in the preseason. Brian Daboll intended to call the plays in NY, but ended up handing that to Kafka.
  9. But its not just Reid. It's actually really common for HCs that were OCs to call the plays. Off the top of my head, this is the list: Nick Siriani Zach Taylor Sean McVey Kevin O'Connell Kyle Shanahan Mike McDaniel Josh McDaniels Matt LaFleur There are probably more of them.
  10. NHL players talk about how difficult arbitration hearings are because they are in the room to hear the team tear their performance apart in an attempt to get a lower ruling. It must feel strange due to the disconnect between the Ravens' marketing of Lamar the player and their refusal to pay him what he feels his performance warrants.
  11. Otherwise known as Zack Ertz Syndrome. They’ll start working on a cure just as soon as they finally come up with another med for chronic moderate to severe plaque psoriasis.
  12. You notice how you never hear about the Bengals restructuring contracts? It’s because they always have cap space because the owners have their own budget which is lower than the cap itself.
  13. After all, that’s how the Tennessee Titans have won all those rings.
  14. This is an excellent post that not only explores OTs and drafting but also puts some needed context on the ***** “Reid fired McDermott” canard that gets thrown around here a lot. But posts like this get zero engagement. Next time, just say “if the Bills draft a non-LT in the first, Beane should be fired immediately.”
  15. He played in black and yellow for Iowa, so he’s giving people Steeler LB vibes. If he used a neck pad and had a mullet, Bills Mafia would advocate for a trade up. The portion of Bills fans that reside here on TBD are stuck in the 90’s.
  16. Josh actually lost the Jets game too. Von got a strip sack that should have ended it and Josh threw another INT that led to the Jets game winning FG. I think the INT was the very next play after the sack.
  17. The thing is that the Cardinals don't have to trade him. They could keep him and expect to contend in 2024 when Kyler is back for the whole season.
  18. Here's my unpopular opinion from February/March 2018: We should draft Roquon Smith at 12 and wait until the second round to get Mason Rudolph. That maximizes the value of the draft picks.
  19. I agree with everything here except the part about needing a dome. There are no domes in the NFL, only stadia with roofs.
  20. The only connection is that the Cards do monumentally stupid things and then have to do other stupid things to undo the stupid things that they did before.
  21. You said unpopular? How about this: Leslie Fraiser's call on that infamous 3rd and 4 play in the Bengals game was the correct one. Everyone talks about 3rd and 4, but everyone forgets that the play was 3rd and 4 on the Bills 14 yard line. A soft zone concedes the first down but prevents the TD. Not only that but the closer a defense is playing to the goal line the less that they have to worry about WRs getting behind the DBs on a slippery field. All of this was intentional and we know this because the coverage tightened up after that play. The game was lost when Josh Allen overthrew Diggs on the first drive. If he hits that throw, the game would have been a shootout instead of a blowout. Tremaine Edmonds was an excellent MLB for the Bills and his absence will be noted.
  22. The more I think about this, the more that I’m sure that Beane leaked this. He sees all the rumors and chatter out there and wants to temper expectations.
