I'll be there with my son. I haven't been to a game at Rich/Ralph/New Era/Highmark Stadium since the playoff game against the Houston Oilers 1/1/1989. That's the game before the Bills got Ickey Shuffled all over at Riverfront.

Bucs are coming off two straight losses and just lost to the Falcons at home 16-13. They need this win as badly as the Bills do. Should be some fireworks on Thursday night.

Would McDermott Fire Dorsey If We Fail Thursday?
Low Positive replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tee Higgins? I think that he has a few more years of playing before starting his coaching career. I kid, I kid. Tee Martin is an interesting prospect for the OC position and the Bills interviewed him in 2021. -
I think that Josh doesn't trust the scheme. He wants to see the guy actually open before he throws it. Guys like Tua throw to spots all the time and trust their receivers to be in that spot by the time the ball gets there. I was just reading the Josh Allen draft night thread in the archives (thank god I didn't post my thoughts), and some of the concerns are still there a tiny bit. Josh has gotten a lot more accurate but he still tends to hit guys and not spots. He doesn't lead receivers so that they can get YAC. He hits them in the numbers. Maybe they don't run the seam route because that pass requires a QB to throw with touch and lead the receiver?

Maybe he means it time to turn the page on Dorsey as OC? Or perhaps it's time to turn the page on him as a Buffalo Bill? Sorry, I thought that we had an obligation to be all negative here today. If anyone needs some comic relief, go read this and you'll want to turn the page on some TBDers.

Funny enough, the Bills are still favored by 7.5.

Freddie Kitchens? How about we go and get Jim Tomsula?

If a cool name is what you want, how about former Lions OC Jim Bob Cooter?

It was a lot like last week, but the Pats got more TDs than the Giants did. Pats got the ball to start the game and drove for a FG. Josh threw an ugly pick on his first throw of the game and the Bills were down 10-0 before they ran a second play. Josh was inaccurate in the first half. Von Miller played 6 snaps the whole game. The defense looked pretty bad without Ed. Dorian Williams seems to been pulled at HT for some reason. I'll leave it more knowledgeable posters to talk about scheme, but we didn't use a lot motion on offense and fell for a lot of it on defense. The Bills did play really well on offense in the 4th, once Josh was forced to run a 2 minute drill. They did allow Mac Jones to drive the whole field for a winning TD in less than 2 minutes, so there is that.

Trade deadline needs what are your priorities
Low Positive replied to Xwnyer's topic in The Stadium Wall
This isn't the NHL or NBA. Big trades rarely occur in season, and teams never make the kind of multiple moves at the deadline that are being suggested here. Also, player-for-player trades almost never happen at the deadline. -
Of course there is. What I'm saying is that I don't see Shanahan/McDaniel levels of offensive scheming with Detroit. What I see is a great OL that allows for a strong running game and a team with one WR in the passing game. If the Bills are making a change, I want one of those guys that can win with scheme. The BIlls should have fired McDermott after 13 seconds and hired Doug Pederson, but that's all water under the bridge now.

Ben Johnson has a lot of the same problems that Dorsey has. His offense is Goff and St. Brown. St. Brown is getting around 12 catches a game while everyone else has less than 5. They're struggling to work Jameson Williams and Jamir Gibbs into the offense. Everyone loved Sam LaPorta, but he has not gotten the ball in the past two games at the same rate. If that was the Bills, you would be yelling about the scheme. I'm not saying that he's not a good OC, but you have to look at his offense with the same level of criticism as you do the Bills offense and Dorsey.

I agree, but he played 27 snaps last week and only 6 this week. Maybe there's some soreness or some other setback.
-
Snapcounts are up. Von only played 6 snaps. I have no idea why that was the case.
-
I don't know where you get soft defense from that. Henry is blocking downfield before the pass is thrown. If Murray's play was OPI, then that is too. Someone there should have flopped back to make that an easier call, I guess.

Mac Jones had almost 300 yards passing and his average yards per target was under 4. If you can’t defend a damn screen pass, you can’t win a game.
-
But that’s not his strength. There was a play yesterday when the Pats come out showing one thing and then changed that mid snap count. The Bills got a delay of game penalty because Josh got confused. Josh Allen cannot be Payton Manning or even Joe Burrow. Those guys had elite level coaching from when they were in diapers. He’s Brett Favre who can run. Let him play that way.

That’s McDermott, not Dorsey. Remember last year? We all complained about deep shots on 3rd and 3. Dorsey’s MO is to take deep shots most of the time. He’s a lunatic. McDermott wants to win with defense and a ball-control offense. After week one’s debacle he had all the ammunition he needed to win that argument. Now Josh doesn’t run and he took one deep shot all game. That’s all McD.

Except next year that games probably in Miami, while we play the Chargers at home. Next year we play the AFC South and only play the Chiefs if we finish in the same spot as them.

I 100% agree. It’s just not fair.
