It's a good point. Josh's problem coming into the league where bad mechanics leading to inaccurate throws. He seems to have more or less fixed that. None of those INTs on Monday night were bad throws. They were bad decisions.

I agree that the Bills needed to find a better #2 WR, but Chase and Higgins cannot be the standard. The Bengals WR room is only possible when everyone but the #3 is on a rookie contract. Now that they've had to pay Joe Burrow, something will have to give because they have to pay both WRs. Same thing in Miami. If Tua gets paid, they still have to pay Waddle and they're up against the cap. In retrospect, paying Von Miller that much money was a mistake, but we were coming off of the 13-second game where we couldn't lay a hand on Mahomes. It did seem like we were a pass rusher away.

That simply cannot be true. That story is worth too much to the likes of TMZ for it to not be public by now. I never believe in any conspiracy where lots of people are keeping a secret that would be worth a lot of money. People will say that, but NFL talent evaluators know the truth. They are providing another way to win. Load up with speed in the skill positions and ask your QB to deliver the ball on schedule. A lot of QBs can do that. And if you're not paying an elite QB, you can spread the cap around better. You can pay CMC and Bosa without that huge anchor. It's also interesting in that it's a lot like college basketball where the coaches are the biggest stars of their teams. This league is always evolving and this feels like the start of something new.

We all want to blame coaches because they are easy to fire and hire. We also love to blame the GM because it's a job that we think that we could do. No, the problem right now is in Josh Allen's head. You could argue that it's the job of coaches to get him in the right mindset but my immediate reaction post-game on Monday night was "The Bills will never win a SB with f-ing Josh Allen at QB." I've calmed down since that point, but I'm really worried that he's been figured out by NFL DCs and that he refuses to adapt.

There are only a few players in the league who are fast enough to run that offense, and they all play in SF or Miami. If SF wins the SB over Miami this year, is it going to cause a league-wide reassessment of the importance of the QB position?

It did mean something. It was about not only a rebuild but also a culture change. The Bills had a losing culture. Losing was expected and acceptable. The organization had to take a step back and clean house. That meant trading talented players like Marcel Darius and Sammy Watkins. That process was completed by the end of the 2018 season. I think that the culture is now strong enough that they could bring some nasty into the mix, but what do I know?
