The Bills are done, stick a fork in them
Low Positive replied to HopefulFuture's topic in The Stadium Wall
I couldn't agree with all of this anymore if I tried. It's just that I think a lot of people read this thread title and assumed that the OP meant that the Bills are done for this season. No, he meant forever. -

Everybody posting in this thread needs to go back and read the OP. Do this many Bills fans actually agree with trading Josh Allen for the Bears' two firsts and conducting a down-to-the-studs rebuild? One 6-point loss drove everyone to this level of insanity. Listen, I'm upset too. But that's just crazy talk and I have seen multiple people on here propose just this. People do know that most 1st round QBs actually bust, don't they? -
Letting Josh coach himself was the incorrect decision
Low Positive replied to Sharky7337's topic in The Stadium Wall
Josh scrambles to his right and the defense is designed to contain him doing just that. It has been a long while since he bailed on the pocket to the left. -
Interesting day at TBD. Before the game, all we heard on here was that the Bills were going to get squashed because the Bengals are a bad matchup. Some said that it's not the end of the season even if they lose big. Then, the team goes out and loses by 6. Now, some people on here want to trade Josh Allen for picks. And this stuff is not coming from the usual suspects, but from usually positive posters. So, from what I gather, it would have been OK to lose by 24 but losing by 6 means fire everyone and trade the QB? They got there a number of times and Burrow just Mahomesed his way out of it.

One Bills Live, always defending the Bills
Low Positive replied to I'm Spartacus's topic in The Stadium Wall
Every team in the NFL has this show and they're all the same. The amount of excuses that Dave Lapham and Soloman Wilcotts came up with for Marvin Lewis over the years was epic in length. -
But there weren't any last night, and that's all anybody remembers on here. At least until the next game.

Do we win if the game was 5 quarters?
Low Positive replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know, but it feels like the Bills got blown out. If we had lost a shootout, it would be one thing. But the continued offensive ineptitude is so deflating as a fan. This team is exhausting to watch, and I think that a lot of the posts on here today reflect that. -

Not in Pegula's mind, in their minds. McDermott hired Beane, so I'm not sure that he has the authority to fire him. -
Nobody that you've heard of. They are the healthiest team in the NFL. Bengals fans will tell you about a UFA RB that they really liked in preseason who is on IR, but no player that you have ever heard of is on IR for them. The last TD drive took too long and losing that TO for an unwinnable challenge was a really poor coaching decision.

My point still stands. Ben Roethlisberger's dad was a QB at Georgia Tech. Phillip Rivers' dad was a HS football coach. As NFL football has gotten increasingly complicated, coaching in the formative years has become more important. Some guys like Brady and Brees are able to overcome this, but having a dad who knows the game inside and out is a HUGE advantage. Also, where you went to HS matters. Brady, I think, is one of the only ones to overcome all these early disadvantages.

You can see times when he doesn't read the whole field. -
It's because if you're posting on this board you're football-obsessed and consume a lot of football media. The national media has a narrative that Josh Allen isn't the same without Brian Daboll. I can guarantee that Mike Florio will have a 10-minute segment on it today.

His dad probably could have helped him break down the film.

Mike Brown already said "you can't sign them all" in reference to Tee Higgins. Duke Tobin says other things, but it's not his money.
-
He didn't have the coaching at a young age to learn this stuff. Look who Joe Burrow's dad is. You think that helps? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Burrow

Because the Bills lost yesterday to Joe Burrow and you're answering this question using Tom Brady lenses, I think that on this day we probably have the same answers. I will add Either being a coach/player's son or being film-obsessed to the point that they can overcome the lack of early coaching. Joe Burrow's dad was a DB who had a cup of coffee in the NFL, played in the CFL, and was the DC at Ohio University for fifteen years. You don't think that plays a role in Joe's ability to read a defense? You don't think that Archie taught Eli and Payton to read pressures and coverages while he fed them their mashed peas? Tom Brady and Mahomes watch film to overcome this. Josh Allen plays golf and hosts Halloween parties.

After the first drive, I think that the Bengals started taking away his first read. Lou Anarumo is a really good DC who will make adjustments from drive to drive.

I agree, but that's not going to happen. McDermott and Beane are a package deal, so they both go. And then Terry Pegula has to hire another HC. This is the man who didn't let Rex Ryan out of the building and hired Ralph F-ing Krueger. -
He did say "any" offensive coach. We're just providing options. What's funny is that both Campbell and Johnson in Detroit are firmly out of the Adam Gase coaching tree.
-
Josh McDaniels? He's available.
-
That's where the game was lost.

Everybody who knows calls Dorsey a lunatic. That feels like a McD decision.

He'd be killer
