Colts vs Patriots in Frankfurt GameDay thread

I'm not one to complain about announcers, but McCourty is openly rooting for the Pats. -
Bills vs Broncos-Monday Night Football

The difference is that the Chiefs are winning with defense through Pat's less-than-stellar play. Wins and losses drive all narratives in sports because winning is all that matters. -
Josh Allen Fined for the Taunting Penalty
Low Positive replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
That slide tackle probably gets a straight red card in a footy match. All Kincaid needed to do was flop to the ground and roll around like he was shot. -
Josh Allen Fined for the Taunting Penalty
Low Positive replied to Scott7975's topic in The Stadium Wall
As someone pointed out above, it's an automatic fine for a taunting penalty. The league didn't fine him, the refs did when they made that call. For anyone who says that "they always make that call," there was no taunting call on this play (Tyreek Hill TD in the 13-second game). -
Bills vs Broncos-Monday Night Football

You could be right, but it’s more a factor that the Bills would never have gotten Fox’s A-team for all those years that they were there. And then they got the B-team on a Monday night doubleheader last year against the Titans. -
The Rise of the Two High Shell & Its Impact on the Bills

Even that late season run had that game at home against the Falcons that was really bad. Remember this? -
People are talking about this all wrong. Michigan is not accused of “sign stealing.” That is not illegal in the Big Ten. What is against the rules is in-person scouting of upcoming opponents. That is because a school like Michigan can afford that but a school like Maryland can’t. But all NFL teams (except the Bengals) have entire teams of pro scouts.
-
But most NFL defenses are like that now. It's driving fans nuts league-wide.

The Rise of the Two High Shell & Its Impact on the Bills

We're not alone in playing mostly from the shotgun. In 2009, the league average for percentage of SG snaps was 37%. In 2022, it was 66%. https://www.the33rdteam.com/category/analysis/nfl-teams-moving-out-from-under-cenet-riding-shotgunnfl-teams-riding-shotgun/ Here's an article from a few weeks ago talking about the decline in offense league-wide and I think the Bills woes fit into all these boxes: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/four-reasons-why-nfl-offenses-are-struggling-in-2023-including-qb-youth-movement-and-demise-of-the-deep-ball/ -

Would be better if we had a Sean vs a Shawn. Then we could finally learn the superior spelling. -

Ben Solak (The Ringer) Analysis of Josh's Decisions this Year
Low Positive replied to JohnRVA's topic in The Stadium Wall
People here in Cincinnati would disagree with you on Taylor. They think his offense is vanilla and relies too much on Burrow and Chase making plays. They all wonder what Mike McDaniel would do with their roster. The grass is always greener. -
Cincinnati last year got stomped in week 8 by the Jacobi Brissett-led Browns to fall to 4-4. They looked lost and people here in Cincinnati were in about the same mood as Bills mafia is in now because they still had games against the Chiefs, Bills, and the Tom Brady-led Bucs on their schedule. They won out. The turning point was a beatdown of the Panthers at home.

Ben Solak (The Ringer) Analysis of Josh's Decisions this Year
Low Positive replied to JohnRVA's topic in The Stadium Wall
Of course, Burrow played better than Josh on Sunday. There is no question of that. The question becomes "would you rather have Josh Allen than Joe Burrow" and I'm not sure how I would answer that question at this point. Burrow has done a much better job than Josh in adjusting to the new dink-and-dunk reality of the NFL. But Joe Burrow has also never won a college or pro game without an absolute all-star team surrounding him. What I will say is, having watched almost every game of Joe Burrow's NFL career, that watching Joe Burrow play QB is a lot less of a stressful experience for a fan than watching Josh Allen play. He always makes the correct decision, but that's because he's a coach's son. We Bills fans will have to be on the Josh Allen rollercoaster. We have no choice. Another thing (and I always get a lot of red Xs for this point); the Bengals offense is chock full of players who won big in HS and college. Did you know that Joe Burrow took Athens HS, a team that had no history of winning, all the way to the Ohio State Championship Game? People in WNY have no idea how big HS football is in a place like Ohio, but this is a huge deal. Winning is a learned skill, and Duke Tobin places a lot of value on it. Beane drafts for physical traits. -
I've been thinking a lot about this over the past day. Why did a close road loss to a very good (and hot) team seemingly break the Bills? Is it the lack of execution on offense? Is it because of the way last season ended? We don't know what's actually going on, but the little bit that we do know makes it seem like they are having a bit of a crisis. I know that we fans get all depressed and think that the team can't win another game after every loss, but these guys actually control their own fate. They should be thinking "We'll just win out and win the division." I don't think that they can do that, but if they don't think that they can do that then we have a real leadership/coaching problem. And if Murray, a journeyman who's been here for all of half a season, feels that he needs to fill a leadership vacuum, then the Bills have a really big problem.

I turned off an NFL game for the first time this year. This game is bad, but not in a fun way.

You gotta think.

Is that the McCown that the Texans tried to hire directly to a HC job?
-
They should teach safeties to punt so that wouldn’t happen.
-
Well, that’s all she wrote.

FWIW, I think that the Bills roll them.
