We don’t have a 3rd. -
That is about what that house would go for in Mason. After he got his contract, Joe Burrow bought a house in Anderson Township near the river for 7 million. Didn't know you could spend that much in Cincinnati. Even Indian Hill mansions only go for 5-6.

Exactly. There will be stars in this draft. There always are. But you just as likely to hit on one in the third/fourth round as you are at the end of the first. The scouts are going to have to earn their money. -

I'll say this again. The lack of pre-draft trades this year has been remarkable. -
Miami Herald: Dolphins players have turned on McDaniel
Low Positive replied to Einstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I love to pile on the Fins as much as anyone, but that story is hot-take clickbait. The only facts presented are Ramsay's trade request, a few FA departures, and Tua's radio silence. But players leave in FA from every team including the Chiefs and Eagles and players have no media obligation between the end of the season and mini camp. The only thing out of the ordinary is Jalen Ramsay's trade demands, and that speaks more to Ramsay's team-hopping tendencies than anything about the Dolphins. Perhaps Mike McDaniel has lost that locker room, but Omar Kelly presents no information that could confirm or deny that. -

Them too, but this seems like a Jerry move. -
In a world where draft capital is as valuable as cap space, I'm beginning to think that RB is one of the most expensive positions because teams have to keep spending second-round picks on it every other year. I guess it comes down to a pretty simple question. What's more valuable, ~13 million in cap space or a second-round pick that you can use to fill other needs?

There is an easyish out after this season, so some team with a lot of immediate cap space and the need for a one-year rental at CB could take that swing. I just went and looked at available cap space, and have come to the conclusion that he'll be either a Niner or a Cowboy within the next few days. -
Fergy’s Draft Analysis 4.0 (2025)
Low Positive replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I just want players who can go out there and execute the game plan. Strong with the fundimentals with a high work ethic. I want a bunch of gym rats with high football IQs. Lunchpail, blue collar type guys. I want players with grit who eat, sleep, and poop football. -
Chiefs? The Bengals took Joe Mixon when no one else would. They also signed Pac Man Jones AFTER the Vegas incident. They rostered Chris Henry until the end. They took Jermaine Burton in the last draft. Mike Brown views guys with criminal records as good "value." Bond will be a Cincinnati Bengal. I would put money on that.

He took pretty much this same team to the playoffs just two years ago. He probably thinks he can do that again.
-
They're fitting him for a Bengals jersey as we speak.

The Bills started at 21. They traded up to 12 with Cincinnati before the draft.

Ovi's record. Smth like that in NFL?

People complain no matter what an athlete does. In these days of "load management," the feat is even more impressive. -

The more I study it, the more I think that this draft sucks. Like 2013 levels of bad. -

No NFL records are unbreakable. They added a 17th game, and they will likely add an 18th. Not that you would know this because it's baseball, but the most unbreakable record in global sport is Cal Ripken's 2,632 consecutive game streak. In May 1982, Ripken missed the second game of a doubleheader. He didn't miss another game until 1998. They play 162 games a season and he never took a day off for 16 years. -

It's not only weak, but also boring. It's weak at the fun positions like QB and WR, and stronger at the positions that are less fun like DB and DT. The best players in this draft are likely to be an undersized EDGE and a two-way player that will primarily play DB at the NFL level. Hense the lower level of intensity to these pre-draft weeks. -
Who the heck knows. We're just going to have to come to grips with the fact that this is a pretty weak draft all around. We can fall into the trap of comparing prospects to each other, but the reality is that there even fewer sure things than usual.

Chiefs Request Christmas Game Yearly
Low Positive replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't usually share personal information on the Internet and I wish I hadn't done that here. We were riding out a midwestern thunderstorm with tornado warnings in the basement and I had a few glasses of wine to pass the time. Of course, I meant 1915. I don't even know if the story about the Lusitania is true, but my mother's aunts told it all the time. I did look up the records and they made the crossing in August, 2015 on the St. Paul. And the story about the Queen's speech is my mother's and she was born in Rochester in 1947 so that part checks out. Back to football. I hope the Chiefs play yearly on Christmas. Them losing to the Raiders two years ago was by far the best gift I got that year. -
Chiefs Request Christmas Game Yearly
Low Positive replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
It'll be in the middle of the night over there. I'll tell you a Christmas story. Both my mom's mother and father were born in London, and she spent Christmas at her father's family's house. These people were the poorest of the poor before emigrating. Her grandfather was an East End day laborer who had 10 kids who all lived in two rooms. But they still made all the grand kids (my mom and her cousins) listen to the Queen's speech before they could open their presents. They also drank Harvey's Bristor Cream. For my WNyers, he emigrated and got a job at Kodak in Rochester. He made extra money working in George Eastman's gardens because he wanted only English gardeners. Then the rest of the family, including my grandfather, all came over after he had a job. They had tickets on the Lusitania in May 1915 but got re-booked on the St. Paul in August 1915. Neither my mother nor I would have been here if that "misfortune" had not happened to them. Quite the f-ing story. -

Two years ago, the Raiders beat the Chiefs. It was like an extra gift. In fact, it was the bast thing I got that year.
