Will Marrone Make Any More Changes?
4BillsintheBurgh replied to hondo in seattle's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe they weren't concerned with special teams abilities when they were building the roster? I saw somewhere on here that there was a lot of turnover on the roster, I think a lot of that was in backups which are normally your St players. I think next year is the make or break season for Danny. -
Seems like he's got a strong arm though. McCarron looks like a product of the system. One with a lot of good oline and not a lot of need to bring a team from behind with his arm. We'll see how he does for the rest of the game.

It's looking like Chandler isn't going to help us win. Let it ride with Meoki, gragg and smith next year -
If they weren't division games against teams in the playoff hunt, I'd think about losing them. I do think it would be huge toward changing the culture to win both. Hopefully Mr Hackett can get creative in an attempt to get these wins. I'd like to see Goodwin targeted/touch the ball 5-10 times per game; reverses, bubble screens, whatever you have to do to get him the ball with a chance to go the distance.

You can find some clips with just a youtube search for the player and the year, assuming the player is pretty highly ranked. I was doing that for the qb's in play for us last year, I think the cutup video's from the games were around 10 minutes a piece.

It should be pointed out that (I assume) those games are from last year and in the other video against Alabama in 2013 he looks better. Don't know about the other games in 2013 because I don't watch too much of college football. I think the throws are better by Johnny in 2013 too. When I watched the 2012 video I thought of David Nelson, but I thought Nelson caught the ball better. Bad technique along the sideline and in the one game he seemed to be making the first down sign with the ball in one hand while inbounds and guys were tackling him. Signs of a knucklehead? If he is in the running for our pick I'll take a look at some of the other 2013 games for fun. T'eo was a top 5 pick before he ran into some competition so it's even tougher to say who's going to be in the top 10 at this point.

I think you move Hairston to guard to compete, and possibly pick up a guard in fa if there's no one on the roster who can put Legursky on the bench. Draft an OT to play the right side and move pears to backup tackle. Don't move Glenn, we want to be able to sign him to a second contract. Signing guys that deserve it to second contracts is how to build a winner.

What are the four weakest starting players?
4BillsintheBurgh replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So I guess I'm confused what the original intent with drafting Kiko was. I don't see Moats or even Bradham on the field alot, do you see the same? If Kiko was originally slated for the will spot, don't you think that would be a waste of a 2nd round pick if Moats had ended up playing the middle? Or would they adjust the base defense to get the will and mlb on the field? Also, if we really don't need another starting lb that would push the need down below positions that will get more playing time in my mind. -
Hitting on a TE in the Draft
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Boludo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I haven't posted it in a while, so I will again. A TE is a nice addition after making the playoffs. The 20's are a good spot to take a decent one who can help you get over the hump. Problem is we haven't made it to the hump yet. -

'FYI - they did see him as a weak side olb when drafted but he played himself into the middle. So I think they could go outside with him depending on the roster as Pettine mentions below. So is there an ilb who can push him outside in fa/the draft or do you stay with him in the middle and draft someone else for the outside. I think it makes draft day a little more interesting. You don't think he will be better with more space to roam on the outside? http://blogs.buffalobills.com/2013/11/28/pettine-kiko-has-exceeded-expectations/ "... We saw him as more of a weak side linebacker, but just kind of given our roster situation he was forced to play the mike linebacker and call all the signals. What helped him was everybody was new to the system too. The fact that everybody was new we decided to try it and it was a no brainer from the first day.” -
First half thread Bills vs. Jags

I'm beginning to wonder if it won't matter what they get ala Marshawn. Pass blocking is half knowing the call and half desire. Both seem to be lacking to me. -

If CJ does get traded, I think the big reason why will be his lack of pass blocking. -

I'm disappointed when I unknowingly follow a link to one of his articles. -
I think he's attributing RG III's issues this year to the lack of practice after his knee injury last year and since they're out of the playoffs he'd rather not get him hurt. Odd sentiment for sure. Certainly is a "fire me if you disagree" statement. I think missing out on Cousins was the regret of that draft for OBD, not missing Wilson. There's no way they expected Was to take him.

DraftTek Positional Needs Due 8pm EST
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know I'm in the minority but I still would like someone to help the run defense. Depending on what we do with Carrington and how he heals, we may have a spot for a DL even if that means moving chocolate marshmallow out to DE. We have enough edge rushers so maybe it makes sense to get heavier on the inside. I'm also thinking they can upgrade Legursky in FA. But I am not a believer that they will take a cb before the 5th, I think they have too many other needs and enough young guys back there now assuming they think Brooks will be okay. -
DraftTek Positional Needs Due 8pm EST
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Astrobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd like that Astro, I think he can produce at the NFL level. Maybe 2nd round by the time the draft starts. I see he's around the third for you guys now. But I don't think your poll has a vote box for a dt. Looks like the value vs need for us in the first will be at lb and OT, maybe wr or te depending exactly where we finish. I thought it was interesting that Pettine mentioned Kiko was slated to play the weak side but he was able to play in the middle when they got him into practice. And they haven't added anyone on the weak side so I think they will be picking either an ilb to move Kiko or an olb and leave Kiko inside. I assume the lb pick will be round 3 or higher. -
I want more of this past Sunday, that's the only way he's going to improve. As far as I'm concerned he is starting his second year now. They need to have the same type of game plan, eg don't protect him and let him try to run the offense as a veteran qb. EJ needs to have the motivation of these performances so he can be crystal clear on what he needs to do to become an nfl qb. If he can't overcome the mental burden of improving he won't be a good starter anyway. If he doesn't start making throws by the end of next year then you can start looking in another direction.

Tashard Choice released, Wingo's role to increase

The only thing I can hope about about Wingo is that he knows enough to be the starter. I don't want another Tuel situation.
