  1. If he checks out between the ears, ogletree is on the field in place of Barnett which is >90% of the plays. So that has some value, although in general I agree with you that the pass rusher is more important. I just think our team will place more value on ogletree because of our needs, right or wrong.
  2. I hear most of the experts think this draft class is all about huge projects. Glennon has some raw skills that could be useful down the road so I think it matters where you get him. I have a funny feeling after missing on cousins/wilson we'll be taking a qb before we probably should, which could translate into taking Glennon in the second.
  3. My fault. I was thinking prepared as in being calm, not as in getting the pitchforks to the front porch.
  4. If you say so. If I wasn't so lazy I'd put a poll up to see how many people would be okay with Milliner at 8. I'm guessing less than 50%.
  5. The jets took Kyle wilson in the first (2010) even though they already had two starting corner's. So this board should become prepared for the possibility.
  6. I'm out on Barkley. I did not watch 2011 film, but I was not impressed with the 2012 stuff. My general thoughts were too many picks and indecisive under pressure. He had a couple nice wr's too and they didn't seem to help him very much.
  7. With him being the top guard out there I don't think fair will play into the equation. It probably does for the bills and what they're willing to offer but all it takes is a couple teams to show interest. Look at Dockery/Steinbach a few years ago and those contracts were with two of them on the market - someone is going to make AL an offer he can't refuse especially with all the offensive minded coaches that were hired this year and the cap space some of these teams have.
  8. Or he thinks there is enough of a foundation of talent that he can afford to use picks to move up, as he mentioned during one of his interviews this past season. I think it was one of the wgr interviews. Or you could look at it your way.
  9. So you were disappointed the contract he signed wasn't bigger?
  10. I think you have to consider Moats as a 3-4 olb but he isn't enough.
  11. I don't know about his time pre-steelers, but the steelers oline didn't have high draft picks at the tackle position for Arians. Picking Luck was predetermined so I don't think Arians' Indy time would count, but I think Arians would lean toward taking a qb over an OT.
  12. I'm fine with decided to go in another direction. When fall comes, that direction needs to be headed toward more wins.
  13. Question will be what, if anything, we'll give up to get Geno. If he makes it past Philly maybe we start calling?
  14. But I think it's the point of player evaluations by the new staff to look at each player and decide what to do before training camp and really OTA's. That's the point of it, why bother if you're just going to keep everyone and see how it plays out. They chose not to work with the defensive players they cut also, and that doesn't mean they are bad players but the staff just doesn't see the same value in what they bring to the table, regardless of what the fans see. It's up to the coaches to get production out of who's here. I thought I remember Buddy/Chan not dumping a lot of players when he came in, at least compared to when Marv/DJ came in, even with the change to the 3-4.
  15. I'm having flashbacks of the wailing and knashing of teeth from when we let Josh Reed go.... Would you take Chan Gailey and David Nelson or Marrone and a couple decent pass catching tight ends? Seems to me that those routes against lb's/safeties will be taken by te's in Marrones offense and the number three receiver will need to do a little more. Can anyone tell me why with all these wonderful measurements Mr Nelson didn't get the #2 spot locked up in the 2011 season and beyond?
  16. That may be true of nfl boards, but early in the process phrases like "if he's there at 8 you have to take him" were bantied about on this board. I thought at one point (kiper?) had him top 5, maybe even close to #1 overall? Mayock was right in that mix also, and he saw every game so it wouldn't suprise me that coming out of the end of the regular season T'eo was pretty high (top 10) on some nfl boards, maybe not all of them. I agree that his other games were not that impressive athletically, but he does seem to have a good set of instincts. I also agree with you that he is more of a 2nd/3rd round player. I think he is probably best suited to being the run stopping ilb in a 3-4.
  17. If you're going to do it, may as well get their 2014 1st rounder for the 22nd overall and maybe a 3rd or 4th this year.
  18. I'd rather see this next year. Seems like the talent pool is deeper and the chances are better.
  19. Since he is back (and Corp) I think there's an idea of who liked him and who didn't.
  20. Question is what do you pay him, just as it was with D Bell. Moore probably wants to see what the open market holds for him while the Bills want to pay him what they see - a backup DE with some promise. And that's assuming Pettine sees a role for him in the defense which may not be a given. So really, what do you have at DE? Williams, Anderson and Kelsay. Maybe some other players depending how Pettine stacks them, maybe a rookie or a FA.
  21. Now you're just being silly. There will always be something to complain about. Always.
  22. I don't think merriman or moore are currently under contract.
