  1. I'll be there with my brothers and dad, all sitting in the tbd section. Hopefully we'll get into hammers lot around 8am. Looking forward to the full game day tbd experience, in the past we've driven up in the morning and got to the lots around 11am which was too late to really enjoy all the sights smells and sounds. Looking forward to it, ready to lose my voice early Sunday afternoon.
  2. Just don't know about the numbers balance between O and D, I assume Rex will want more defenders than what you have here. Maybe Goodwin and Richardson are replaced by Dareus and Leo.
  3. The unknown was williams. If he hadn't impressed as a rookie I think there's a spot for fred.
  4. If one was going to be inactive every week, I think fredex would have stayed. I think all will be active especially with our offense being run heavy. But I also only see us with 5 wr on the 53.
  5. I'm not going to buy into anyone on the offense unless it's well below where they're supposed to go - too many question marks between the qb, the pile of rb's and the new offense. I'm in Pittsburgh so I may get Clay since he will probably get overlooked. Might take a chance on Karlos Williams in my 14 team league assuming he is healthy. I will reach for Buffalo's D and carpenter. I expect him to be doing a lot of kicking again this year.
  6. Count me in for global warming too. Beats global cooling every time.
  7. I'm with you. I think man can pick up the slack of a few less sharks.
  8. Not that we're going to get a qb out of it, but Cleveland could use an rb. Maybe pick up a draft pick?
  9. Here in Pittsburgh the preseason games are called by locals who don't call the regular season games. So the broadcast gets to be like a box of chocolates. I didn't see the game, only highlights, but it seems like we executed well enough which is all you really want to do especially with a new offense. And it looks like Darby needs to play the ball better. Maybe McKelvin can help him with that.
  10. I remembered the Steve Smith case from a few years back, and he was suspended by the team for 2 games. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3516153 At the end of the article they say he won't receive any additional punishment from the league. So it leaves the door open, plus with the current CBA he could get something.
  11. If anyone's aware of the personalities involved, it's Rex. I think it's a pretty big indictment of Geno by Rex.
  12. Steelers don't allow any video of practice.
  13. I personally would have liked to see a little more research into why Roman didn't give Booby much work in SF. To me that's the wildcard here. SF kept drafting guys like we have with Williams and while they didn't cut booby they didn't re-sign him either. If I remember correctly when he got here, he wanted to prove he could carry the ball regularly which is implying Roman didn't think he could in SF. With the bevy of ST guys we have I won't be surprised if Booby's out -if- Bryce can hold onto the football in practice and in the preseason games.
  14. generally known as a train wreck.
  15. In my eyes, the NFL should take the money for stadiums off the top of the TV contacts and create a $1 billion a year fund. The owners/players pot is smaller but over thirty or so every team will get a new or upgraded stadium. And you could actually help the surrounding communities by being a positive tax entity instead of drain or at best close to sum zero.
  16. Here is a link with some articles/links regarding what Pittsburgh leaders did after voters said no to using public funds for subsidizing the team (steelers/pirates) stadiums, aka "Plan B". Spoiler alert, they used public funds, but it wasn't as much as first proposed and there were some "creative" funding ideas too. http://old.post-gazette.com/planb/ Unfortunately not all the links work, but from what I remember the state money given as part of the funding had incentives tied to it that encouraged the teams to develop the land in between the two stadiums to produce x amount of tax revenue through sales. If the tax base didn't increase by that amount over the agreed upon timeline the money went from a grant to a loan, so the teams were highly motivated. The original three rivers stadium had plans to develop the same property but since the government was managing it nothing ever happened. Not to mention the original principle on three rivers was still owed, they had been paying the interest only for the entire thirty years it was in existence.
  17. Just remember Seantrel had first round talent and dropped to us in the 7th. I don't know how much he would be able to help a team this year, with the strength issues he has. I'm guessing whoever takes him will have a practice squad player or a gameday inactive all year.
  18. I'm guessing he's not ground and pound enough for our current coaches. Looked good to me in pass protection and getting to the next blocking level. I like what the coaches asked of him. It will be interesting to see how the off field stuff affects him - might go much lower than his talent level.
  19. I'm pretty impressed with that game tape. Doesn't get off the snap quickly, but assuming because he doesn't really care or have to work hard. Good feet, delivers good blows. SC at times didn't even line a player up over him. To me, that's a sign of respect. Maybe I'll have to look at a few more game tapes. Is there a game where he went against a top DE?
  20. Grandma must party like a rock star if the family can't get out of there before 3:30 am
  21. And *gasp* sometimes good/talented teams only play the rookies who can handle it, like the rookie year for Timmons/Woodley where the 2nd round pick (Woodley) started from the getgo and 1st round pick L Timmons didn't see the field on defense much.
  22. I don'the see why Rex would say he hadn'the spoken to him. That is a sign of issues with cw, the shul have at least been some communication be teen the two?
  23. I'm thinking they're getting Seantrel ready to be a swing tackle. Maybe Glenn and Henderson start but if one of them gets hurt Kujo comes in as RT and the other plays LT. Plus if we're not able to sign Glenn we have someone who can step in the following year. I also thought it was interesting that Marrone thought "Henderson consistently performed the best of all of the team’s offensive linemen last season.". I don't remember that being talked about here, didn't PFF rate him pretty low?
