  1. Chan did fine while he was here. I'm going to say the biggest issue with Roman was calling the game for a developing qb. As with Kap, he seemed to want the qb to make a leap from a running qb to a qb he wasn't (pocket passer) too quickly and didn't adjust his play calling when it didn't work. The season is short, the time to work on the passing game is when you have the game in hand not when it is undecided.
  2. You certainly can't blame his position coach for this.
  3. Rusty Jones is/was a strength and conditioning coach, not a trainer!
  4. Yep, confirms that the run defense is better and the front 7 are performing well as a group.
  5. Had to look just to make sure it wasn't a safety. Zee B at 1 and Pee B tied for 8.
  6. I think Palmer may have hit the performance wall and that may set them back toward the bottom of the playoff contenders.
  7. Just imagine what could happen if we have a good front office that picks a non-retread coach. Whaley has lived this in Pittsburgh, he needs to get the Pegulas on board or get out.
  8. I forget the details, but Ben was not happy losing Arians so there was a touch of drama around all that. If you have some time: Opinion about the Arians-Haley move https://thetartan.org/2012/2/13/sports/commentary2 Some analysis of Ben under different OC's http://steelcurtainrising.com/2016/03/steelers-todd-haley-vs-bruce-arians-ben-roethlisberger-passing-statistics-performance-sacks-interceptions-whisenhunt.html/
  9. Todd Haley is the reason Big Ben is as healthy as he is. Ben was getting killed trying to extend plays with Arians. Haley came in and made Ben dump the ball to the back instead of running around. Arians was not committed to the run and the Rooney's wanted to get back to the running game hence the change.
  10. Play with the bull and you're going to get the Mike Leach for head coach!
  11. He needs a gm. He should have realized that before he signed for all the money.
  12. Tyrod is in his second year as a starter. He was given more responsibilities this year including more reads, plays etc. It is part of the normal process of a developing qb and happens across the league. I know we haven't had a talented enough guy to develop in a long while (maybe fergy?) but it is expected. Hopefully by the end of the year he will get enough reps to be more comfortable in the offense as it is this year. That said, we should see steady improvement from him this year.
  13. I'd just like to say thanks for that. Here's to a drunk booty call Thursday night.
  14. That certainly is the best business decision.
  15. And I think that's where the Bills will value him in contract talks, a middle of the road backup. I think it would be silly of him not to try going somewhere else to be a starter, and I assume if he relays those thoughts to the Bills they may not even offer him a contract and just say good luck.
  16. I think it's more that the coaches are putting him in a better place to use the abilities he has. To his credit I think he has gotten better with the sideline throws but in the end he doesn't seem changed too much to me.
  17. I don't know if I'd include Wood and not Jerry Hughes, but then again I'm not John Clayton.
  18. I agree, but he needs to make the roster at ST, not be on the practice squad.
  19. We might need another qb for the last preseason game...
  20. Hate to say to it, but I hope not. I don't think I'd want a hopeful special teamer on the PS.
  21. I really don't understand why they don't require qb's to wear knee braces on both legs. If it's so important to the game that they are protected, the qb's should be required to wear whatever gear makes them less susceptible to injury. I would think it makes this call where contact is initiated above the knees but the act of tackling brings the defender lower easier to not make.
  22. This front office seems to be doing an above average job in drafting players. The energy between Whaley and Rex seems to be working well.
  23. It was a while ago so hopefully he's made some changes in his life.
