  1. Ohh boy, bullying doesn't take long to rear it's ugly head again! Well, when you realize that changing personnel groupings allows you to attack different parts of the field you'll see a need for Goodwin. If you just want to get "your best 5" out there all the time, you won't. And then, toward the end of the year teams will start to lock you down because of it.
  2. So the police won't speak to him because the investigation is ongoing, wouldn't they need to speak to him as part of the investigation if he was a suspect? If that is true, it seems like they want to try and determine custody of the child, right? I really do wonder if we put Buddy on the case to try and determine what the story is here. I'm assuming at least one team will come up with some intel that will allow them to take Collins relatively early.
  3. winston - Bucs mariota - Titans cooper - Raiders gurley - Vikings hundley - Jets Bills - La'el Collins - Buddy is finding out the real story with his contacts and we'll stop the slide Imo
  4. Seems to me its slanted toward keeping your best players. And the total strength of your roster plays into it as well. So it allows the teams good at drafting to keep up better if they can replace players through the draft. It does not help teams that can't sign their own and can't draft.
  5. Two words - the pegulas. Those two words in and of themselves qualify this year as different.
  6. I'm with you on the second rounder. I'd like to believe we're good enough to need the firepower to land someone decent in the first. I wouldn't mind if they used the third and some of the lower picks to move up and grab someone they liked instead of trading for a veteran though, I think we need more lower priced options at this point as opposed to fa vets unless they are signed cheap (after the draft).
  7. For me, I saw this differently. It was about changing a culture. You play the guys that have the best chance to win the games. The backups need to take the belt, it shouldn't be given to them. Now if we had already clinched a playoff spot, sure, because of injury etc. But I wholeheartedly agreed with playing the starters all the way because of 15 years of futility. Oh, and Buddy did start the ball rolling. He discussed building a strong, fast team and then inserting a qb. He and Whaley were on the same page and that vision along with the Pegulas cash have this team ready to fulfill the playoff hopes that we have been waiting for.
  8. I hope it's the Steelers kind of retirement, which means you move on with your life's work after you don't earn your contract anymore.
  9. I don't know that Tuel is Roman's idea of a developmental qb. I don't mind the 7th round for a pick because you get to pick the udfa you want.
  10. It will be interesting to see rg3 without snyder, it seems a lot of the attitude stems from/is condoned by/enhanced by danny boy.
  11. Implying maybe it wasn't like that when he took over... “What I quickly realized was that these guys like each other and they get along with each other,” Pegula said Tuesday while here for the NFL meeting that concludes Wednesday. “It was a lot of fun, actually.”
  12. If I remember correctly it was a technique thing - Tiki started holding the ball higher toward his armpit with a finger on the point. I believe the rb coach at the time made it happen, hopefully we can find a way to get through to Brown because the important part is how he carries the ball, not necessarily how many fumbles he has. If he isn't carrying it tight in traffic he won't be around, even if he doesn't fumble all the time.
  13. I did enjoy seeing a lb get to the hole with a bad attitude. For too many years we had folks catching blockers on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage.
  14. I'm going to discuss this weekend, i'll let you know. Possibly 4-6.
  15. Assuming the dolphins want to use the cap space, when does that get cleared from the books? I'm guessing after the contract has been okayed?
  16. Didn't have the time for the whole game, but I watched a different video that was a cutup of just bryce from that game. I wasn't too impressed with him in that game. I just didn't see a lot of nfl throws, and while his accuracy is good enough for college I don't think it is good enough to be consistent in the nfl. He also didn't seem to do well under pressure which for me is a problem because high pressure in college equates to the "normal" pressure in the nfl. I would have liked to see him get out of trouble and hit some throws on a few of those pressures. When he had time he did hit some slants and deep balls, but again, I didn't think it was enough to justify a second round grade. I'll stick with trying to find a way to get another first round pick next year and taking my chances then or kicking the draft pick down the road.
  17. I think bpa is reserved for the first round, the talent gets similar and more "in the eye of the beholder" as you move down the draft. It seems we wanted a starting ORT since we offered something to Buluga, so I'd guess that first and then I think we have room for another starting TE and then if they think an OG can make an impact, sure. I agree it would be tough to fit a 2nd round rb or wr on the roster, but I think we could find room for a run stuffing DT (since when MD was hurt it seemed like we took a big step back last year) and an ilb/olb for grooming/depth.
  18. So much changes it's hard to say with certainty what will be there next year. There have been a lot of "next year" qb's as well as weak classes that turned out okay. I just think that is still our biggest need and I think we have a better chance at getting a guy who can make a difference if we have two first round picks. If there isn't anyone available next year, we can always pull a pats* and hopefully keep pushing that pick into the next year until we can get someone.
  19. I'm not sure I would bother with a qb this year unless it's in the 5th or greater. I wouldn't mind trading for an additional first next year to have the ammo to move up and get someone. Even if it means giving up the 2nd this year.
  20. I was particularly concerned about the coaching when Pears was still playing guard like a tackle deep into the season. I'm sure his years of experience at tackle were difficult to overcome, but he didn't seem to make much progress toward changing his game.
