  2. Being present is how you bond with a baby. My wife baby sat an infant for her friend for over a year and we saw the girl intermittently after that for a few years and I would always notice how the girl was still comfortable with my wife. Haven't seen the girl for a few years but it would be interesting to see if there was a remaining bond.
  3. Absolutely, why wouldn't they be open? Maybe Cleveland at 1 and NYJ at 3 have closed the door. This is the ol' "look, the sky is blue!". Just depends on how the players fall.
  4. As I said in another thread, no matter who they bring in, we will have more talent in the qb room than we've had in the last 18 years.
  5. I know it's not in vogue around here to say it, but getting a qb will not solve all our problems. For me, difference between a top qb and a franchise qb has to do with the team around him. For example, how good would Brady* be without the Pats*? I would love for Tommy* to go to another team to see if he really plays like the goat without the same infrastructure. Especially when a journeyman like Matt Cassel can lead the team to an 11-5 record. You really do need a team so the whole picture needs to be taken into account when evaluating the front office as tempting as it may be to tie it into one decision.
  6. Regardless of the decision Beane makes in this draft and even if he stands pat and makes a selection of the best qb at 12, we will have more talent in the qb room than we've had in a long time. Plus the attitude that we need to get the qb situation right as soon as possible. So you've got that going for you, and that's nice.
  7. I won't be surprised if they move up with both picks to get a qb and lb then keep building the team around those two guys.
  8. With a new OC I will be shocked if there isn't some quality competition brought in for Peterman, especially with the supposed depth in this qb class. Hopefully we'll have enough draft picks to do that.
  9. Link didn't point to article for me and looks like this message was also put on a Pats* board.
  10. Nah, the fat does that. The shirt makes you look like your knees attach directly to your ass.
  11. And this class may also put a few decent vets on the street, assuming we have some cash for them. Shady should have a lighter load this year between the qb and the better backups. I think a second rounder next year would do well to transition from shady carrying the primary load.
  12. I would rather spend the late round picks on depth for the front seven, especially lb. Udfa rb for me this year.
  13. It would take some balls of steel to be a free agent qb that takes over for Brady.
  14. If I remember correctly, similar thoughts caused aaron Rodgers to drop during his draft. That would be nice at this point, but I would have thought that deal would have been done before moving TT. If we were the team to offer a second for foles that was rejected, I can't imagine the cost is going to go down now.
  15. When I first saw the title, I thought Landry jones steelers backup qb with the hale connection. Maybe letting fa qb's know they are serious about winning?
  16. Hindsight is 20/20. Obviously. He was not a first round talent or we would have taken him at 8. But we got our guy. And there are plenty of guys drafted higher that flamed out faster and harder. The proof will be over time.
  17. That has not stopped prospects from getting drafted in the first round, nor from doing well as an nfl player. I would also submit that in this day that qb's are getting overdrafted because front offices realize their importance. Hey, if we can find someone to trade with in the top 5 that's great, but has it ever even happened? I could see them coming down in the top ten, but dropping to 21/22? Doesn't seem likely. So if it makes you feel better to take someone else instead of rudolph, then go right ahead. I like him better than mayfield, although I would really like to add the OU offensive coordinator to the staff, I think they made him look better than he is.
  18. I like him because for the most part he's not stupid with the ball. The times when his wr's help him out, at least to me, is more about where the ball is placed than about their ability. He was able to give those guys a chance. I don't like how there are times he seems to lose his footwork and hitting the little loop-de-doo passes he did in college won't happen in the nfl. Like I said in the other thread, let's just take two qb's at 21 and 22 and let them battle it out behind tyrod. Maybe Rudolph and Jackson. Less pressure on them to be the man right out of the gate, and if neither can get it done to our satisfaction we can get a veteran guy next off season and draft someone else.
