  1. Yes you stick with it and keep collecting talent, because being able to pick talented guys is what matters. If the coach depresses the talent you have, you will get better picks and a better chance at talent. Were were close because we were picking talented guys. Then you can bring in the right coach to lead the talent you have. It will be interesting to see who the Browns bring in, for example, to get the most out of their talent. Our owners need to find a football guy to run the team for them so a dump of talented players won't be allowed and we can move forward.
  2. I have have seen multiple folks telling KB where to line up over the last couple of weeks. He's the only one I wouldn't mind moving if we can get some return. I hope the rest of it doesn't happen because if the front office has whittled the roster down to these guys they should go with them. It does not help the culture now to purge assets.
  3. I put this one in with talent, part of recognizing the defense etc. It seemed to me the protections got better with Bodine in there.
  4. Sure, he should. As a unpolished rookie it will be difficult for him to do that and avoid developing bad habits, which will in turn delay development. Only one cure for the oline, talent.
  5. We will agree to disagree then. I think if Wood and Incognito (edit: Glenn would have been nice too) were still on the team I would be okay with leaving him in there. He's just not getting enough out of the reps with the current state of our oline. Exhibit A for me is Andrew Luck and the health issues he's had. I will say the Bills will probably do what you're saying, I just don't agree with it.
  6. He's been given the week by getting signed on Monday, he has experience in this system. I'll be surprised if Peterman is on the team in any way shape or form. So no one else is worried about JA getting hurt because he can't get rid of the ball quickly? I was concerned about 4 different joints getting broken on that one sack/fumble against the vikes, the one our TE recovered. People at his feet, taking swats at his arm. For that reason alone I'm okay with Anderson starting, because I am on the side of Allen not being ready yet. Doesn't mean JA wouldn't get some time on the field, just not the lion's share. He's getting very little out of having 1.5 seconds to throw the ball.
  7. It's a football culture, not a winning culture. Winning is not mentioned in the quote.
  8. and quality offensive linemen, not even worried about wr at this point. He just doesn't trust his blockers, for good reason
  9. Ivory is also a better pass blocker, seems to be something Murphy isn't good at yet and will limit his reps
  10. I think that has always been TT's OC's fault, not the other team. Seems like Roman was fired for trying to keep him in the pocket.
  11. Any way you slice it, Daboll has to earn his money this week if we're going to have a chance. The oline should jump less this week since Josh will be calling all the cadences in practice, and the starting wr's should be used to the ball coming at them faster as well. But we will need a lot of misdirection, mayby murphy and shady on the field at the same time, maybe 3 te's for some different looks.
  12. Probably not a popular sentiment, but he should be better with more reps with Allen. Can't imagine it's easy going from the softball throwers to the fastball.
  13. Help him to hire a president of football operations so he and Kim can sit back and get out of running the team.
  14. In an ocean of possibilities, I'll go with Groy. Too many times helping the qb up and the head bob thing during the snap is a problem. Gives the defense a nice tell. Probably should partly blame Castillo for letting him do it.
  15. So you're saying bring Whaley back as pro personnel director?
  16. He would look good protecting Allen plus mentoring the oline right now and freeing draft resources especially at one of the key positions on the field. Really, it takes a team of talented players. The job of the front office is to collect and keep talent, the job of the coach is to get wins by maximizing that talent.
