  1. I think Belichick has already proven he can win without Brady. What are they, something like 13-6 without Brady? Hardly the fall that Indy experienced once Peyton went down.
  2. Maybe as a qb coach or some type of offensive quality control assistant
  3. Not hard to coach, pretty much just communicate, it's about alignment and yes he was. There are times in the past when I have wondered why a player is having trouble performing and it comes out after the season that there was a health issue that had more of an impact than was let on. Not saying that's the case here, but it crossed my mind.
  4. Working on kicking technique is not really part of the job anyway. Moorman might be able scheme kick protections, blocks and coverage if he paid attention during his playing days. But maybe as an assistant. You can put me on the side of the players are the issue. Young roster, not a lot of quality talent at backup spots.
  5. Ha ha, between him and Edmunds we could call our defense the Himalaya's or something, it would be tough to throw it in the middle over those two mountains
  6. Can't wait until Gruden blows the 2019 draft and has only rbs over 30 on his roster
  7. I'll tell you the words that were never said; "ok guys, let's take a look at what kelvin did on this play, I want you to repeat what he did". I'm assuming KB's tape was last and more often than not time was up before they got too far.
  8. I would not want that kind of malcontent around my young team; if they did not want to play him they had to cut him. I can only imagine what the wr coaches had to say about his tape when they looked at it as a group.
  9. 1) Max protect for him and let him throw, less complicated and hopefully can learn to stay in he pocket. I don't want Josh to develop bad habits due to crappy protection. 2) If so, get someone to replace them, Clay is likely because his lack of practice reps due to injury are affecting him 3) By dumping Holmes I assume they are trying to give Foster a chance at gunner to see if he can take hold of a roster spot for next year. 4) I don't know if you want to start him 16 games, but he can do the job for periods 5) Difficult to assess this and keep Allen healthy. Really only Teller has looked like he has a chance from our group of backups. I don't think Sirles earned more time on the field based on last week and the rest are behind him. Keep them on the bench and see if the TE's can block with max protect as I mentioned above. Hopefully we can hit on some lower round picks in the draft for better developmental players.
  10. Don't know if anyone answered this since I'm still reading the thread, but I think with them being out of the playoffs would tip it. Just like there is some suprise here, there is probably some in the locker room too. Plus with the younger guys getting playing time and earning more there is less of a leap of faith to absorb KB's reps.
  11. *screams into turf with a Captain Kirk voice* CLAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY!!
  12. All he's saying is that if Clay didn't move after the throw, the ball would have been in his chest if it was 13 yards deeper. I agree with him. Unfortunately for the OP that doesn't make it a bad throw.
  13. Unfortunately Clay is a professional and a veteran and he should have realized that a cross body, on the run throw is not going to have that much zip on it, even from Josh Allen. It was a bad play by him, but it's not grounds for removal (for me) even given his salary. On another note, those that want to blow $90 million in FA, this is what happens seemingly more often than not. The player doesn't live up to the contract.
  14. As others have said, Clay misjudged the ball coming in, leading to the oh sh** dive and subsequent slip. With Allen's normal bullets you have to assume those guys first reaction is that it's not going to be short. Once the scramble started maybe he thought Allen was done for and didn't move back toward him because Allen did some amazing things to keep it alive. Clay should have been working back as soon as Allen broke outside the pocket and he should have realized that the cross field throw would not have a lot of mustard on it. If Clay was a rook, I could forgive all that, as a vet he needs to make the play. It's on him.
  15. So 2019 FA's on our Oline include Mills, Miller, Sirles and Groy; it seems like it's the right hand side of the OL's turn to get blown up. There's still Ducasse, so he could take Groy's position but doubt he would start at RG for Miller since Miller is still playing with Vlad on the bench. We would still need a backup center in that case which would fit nicely for one of our later round picks and maybe another low end FA in case the rook can't handle the backup duties. RT will be interesting, I think they should spend on a decent FA there but it could be a high draft pick too. It doesn't seem like Sirles has done enough to be counted on as a starter at RT next year, but maybe he can be a swing tackle. KB and Deonte Thompson are the only UFA WR's, so maybe this waits until the 2nd round? Seems to meet the draft talent available too, although I think the OL and WR's will be getting overdrafted due to the young qb's and how offense is more of a need than defense. Defensively KW, Lorax and Jordan Phillips are FA's, maybe they are brought back but with our rushing defense I think the DL talent available meets need in the first round and we get the best DT available to hopefully shore the run D up or a DE who can play the run and get more of a pass rush. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/free-agents/buffalo-bills/
  16. He's not even a speed bump pass blocking. I don't want him anywhere near the field and think he's the one that should be cut so he doesn't get someone hurt. Replace him with someone who has a future.
  17. We'll see how it plays out, but this is why I would like to see us hire a football guy to run the organization. He would be able to call bs when he sees it.
  18. I like that Josh was able to execute the scripted plays well, tells me if he can learn to read a defense he will do well.
  19. I'm going with the comment 26 highlighted above, namely he saw the defender coming to try and get it and didn't want to take a chance that he would get hurt. Unfortunately for him, the team he goes to next year will have a lot of tape with that level of effort.
  20. Tre does seem like a guy they'd want to keep, but it takes two to tango. If he wants to go somewhere else he'll go. They may offer him the world, doesn't mean he'll take it of course. That said, I think the bills will make him a market offer. I guess I'm probably in the minority regarding next year because I don't want a bunch of free agents brought in on big contracts like clay was. Just get some fringe guys and continue to build through the draft.
  21. I'd guess we're going to spend money mostly where Carolina does, and I don't think that's WR/RB. I don't know the exact breakdown of their spending, but it seems like Kuechly (sp?) and Newton are cornerstones so I wouldn't be surprised if Allen/Edmunds are taken care of for sure. I think Car pays their o and d linemen too. They played hardball with Josh Norman a few years ago, so maybe Tre is here and maybe he isn't, these guys seem like they can manufacture db's so I don't know if they will be willing to pay Tre top dollar if that's what's required. The real test of the "culture" that is being built will be the desire for players to stay in Buffalo instead of running for more money. Not every player will be swayed by culture, but hopefully enough talent will stay to keep us competitive over the long haul. Assuming, of course, that McBeane is still here to value them when their contracts come up.
  22. My only concern with greedy is his second contract, don't know if it makes sense to pay two top guys in the secondary. The guys on defense to replace are Williams, alexander and murphy/Hughes with that pick. To get an olineman we will have to reach because there are so many teams with issues and young qb's.
