I'll stop reading the thread here to respond, if we had Nick Chubb I think we win that game. We need to be able to run when the opposing defense is playing the pass, just like what has happened to our defense this year. Then in running situations we should be able to pass better. Sounds like so far Beane is more concerned about the line than the backs, so I'm looking for more changes there, at least for next year.

the missing link - an Alvin Kamara-type player

Although just a jag, I just don't understand why he couldn't have been used more because of the versatility he brings. That was a big fail for Daboll this year as far as I am concerned. -
Well, you made me look, so I found this link: https://www.behindthesteelcurtain.com/2020/3/9/21167309/bud-dupree-is-going-to-get-a-big-contract-is-he-worth-it-part-3-run-defense-film-steelers-free-agent When I watch the games I don't study him for example, but do know he has some attack to his game, and really the defense gives him the latitude to be aggressive. I don't know if McD's defense will allow him to attack in the same way but you can see he has the pop in his technique to keep blockers off of him. When healthy I think he can succeed in this defense. As you have said, the question is how much you give him due to a partial season at best in his first year. I also wonder if our state of the art facilities will also help convince him to come here. As far as money limits, I don't have enough info to make that call. That will be on Beane to map out the next 4 or so years to determine the contract that best fits with who they want to have under contract. I looked at the one clip in that bunch and he does tackle Kyler Murray in a one-on-one situation. 😃

The Steelers did move Dupree to the right side because Watt was more effective on the left so being on a team with those kind of pass rushers got him that. And really, the few guys that get to the qb in under 3 seconds don't come on the market often. Dupree has improved over time and I don't think a 2/20 or 3/30-35 is overpaying. He is also a good enough athlete to drop out into a zone which I hope we do more of while sending other folks. I will also add that if you gave me a choice between him and Addison for similar money I'm taking Dupree.
-
I see him more like Hughes, he would replace Addison's spot if they decide to move on from him. As far as the injury, I agree that he probably will not be up to speed in the first year. Seems like a similar situation as Murphy though, and I think a two or three year deal might be possible. Really with our substitution defense and our place in the afc hierarchy it should probably be a good situation for him since he does not need to play 70+% of the snaps. As far as number, he played on the tag for 15+ million last year. He was probably worth a little less than that so I would think the contract might be in the 10 million range per year and the longer it is the better it is for the Bills.

I disagree, they just didn't need to use it tonight. Our running game is Josh. I should add that it will settle Josh down a little and I think he needs that at this point in his career.
-
I don't care how we do it, but to take the next step we need to be able to run the ball first and foremost.

Chiefs I would attack if I were Frazier or Daboll

I'm hoping for some run blitzing to try and get their run game stopped, assuming we will try a similar defensive game plan where we lay back in coverage. -

I'll bet you're a lot of fun at parties. "Here, hold my beer. Watch this" -
I guess my question would be if Josh Allen had been drafted by the Bills in 2010 how would he have done? He may have done better than Stafford, but I don't think Ralph would have put the pieces around him to be successful to compete with the better teams in the league. I guess I just see ownership as more of a problem for that franchise than Matt Stafford. Look at the year Watson had - and he couldn't elevate that team past four wins after what BOB did to it.
-
Well, could put a three team trade into the mix. Complicated, but it's not every day that a bona fide franchise qb (Watson) is on the market. I would think Stafford saw the rebuild writing on the wall. Plus all the history of fail it would be in his best interest to get another start before too long.
-
I think this is telling me two things: 1) The Lions are in for a full rebuild 2) The Lions are really trying to change how they treat players. In the past Stafford would have had to retire to get away like Sanders and Megatron. So it seems like the new owner is serious about treating the players better than her predecessor. At least the Lions fans have that going for them, which is nice

State by state rooting interests

Yeah, seems like we're the feel good underdog story with the generous fan base now. Once we are top of the mountain I'm thinking it might not be so cordial. 😄 -
Jeremy Pruitt fired for cause Univ. Of TN is a mess

A niedermeyer and a rhyming name as assistants? Doomed to fail! "Tennessee also fired assistant coaches Brian Niedermeyer and Shelton Felton for cause on Monday, along with seven members of the football program’s recruiting and support staff." -
I use chemicals proactively in my drains because I have had issues in the past with laundry soap and whatever else clogging the lowest trap in my house (built in 1952). I have pulled tennis ball sized globuals out of that trap with a shop vac. My neighbor has similar issues and has a ladel taped to a stick to help scoop the stuff out. If I use a chemical every 6 months or so it seems to help keep everything flowing well. Mostly it's something like drain-o, I will recommend the liquid fire it worked well for me as a one time cleanout. Read the directions etc with all that stuff. I also like to use boiled water to warm the pipes up because the buildup can extend down the pipe, but be careful with that as well. I mainly do that to not run a ton of hot water, we also have a well. The biggest thing is to watch for slowdowns in your drains, mine manifested itself when the laundry drain was filling up both sides of our wash basin instead of draining from the one side as it had in the past. Stuff like the amount of water you're standing in during a shower and lower power on your toilet flush can be warnings also.
