Disagree that he can't recover from it. He can go to the SWAC, recruit the heck out of kids and make that conference one of the best in the country. The only thing they need is some rich alumni (or equivalent interested folks) to provide some under the table benefits for the kids to compete with the current larger schools in the country.

Sometimes it's just time to say goodbye. If Daboll had that much friction with the decision making of his head coach, then it is time to see if he can do better.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
4BillsintheBurgh replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the Pittsburgh Steelers will strongly consider an ILB also. They to have gone to more of a 4-3 lately, they don't have that one big NT anymore to play the 3-4. When they're in the nickel the lb's don't cover well and they're not great against the run. Bush has been a disappointment, Schobert was brought in via trade (they needed someone) then got hurt and Spillane is barely replacement level. If there's a guy that has some size, can play the run ok and cover ok they may pull the trigger on him. -
Mike Munchak available for OL coach
4BillsintheBurgh replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
While this could be true, over the years I've seen quite a few coaches leave Pittsburgh for reasons other than they've been fired. Later contradictory information comes out or the coach will "unretire". -
I guess everyone's image of our front office sitting around holding hands and signing "kumbaya" has been blown.

I don't know how BB* "thinking" they are going to hire Daboll has anything to do with the perceived quality of Flores' interview. Seems like the texts BB* was reading will get subpoenaed. Does Schoen have any contacts in common with BB*? -

Giants cap situation and potential trade options

I don't know if we're going to be the destination for the roster moves because of the cost, if we can get to a cheaper price on these guys then ok. I'm thinking the value of having the Schoen relationship will come during the draft, where hopefully we can move around the board a little easier. -

Let's get the band back together - Chan "the man" Gailey as OC and Fitz as backup qb. Then all we'll have to draft is a waterbug rb. Boom! Super Bowl.

After last year Beane said we need more pass rush. So he went out and drafted a de that hadn't played in a year and a guy that didn't look like he was quick enough to make a difference right away. We got some pressure on Mahomes but didn't get enough. That's really on Beane. I think DL needs addressed via FA with some type of short term impact guy, either outside (preferable) and/or inside. As has been said about every great qb, you have to be able to get him on the ground rushing 4 in order to beat him. We were not able to get patpat on the ground last week when we needed to.

Ben Roethlisberger officially retires
4BillsintheBurgh replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Assuming sarcasm, but I think I would literally crap my pants if this happened. Colbert is retiring, but for them to make that move is so against everything they have ever done I would be shocked. Plus, I assume their cap is not in good enough shape for that. -
Brandon Beane Season Ending Presser Weds 1/27

I'm going to be a little more greedy. I look at it like we need an Aaron donald, von Miller and Leonard floyd to be able to get by KC. I think we have donald/floyd but it would be good to add one more top guy, probably a free agent. I don't think Hughes is that guy anymore. -

No, it matters. You just need one play from someone in with the game on the line. Look how much Ingram improved the Chiefs d line. -

Sure. We could also improve the pass rush at the DT position too. I just have to think watching those guys run through us for two years in a row will leave an impression. The one Hardman run really didn't have rush in play, in fact I think that was the one where Addison got juked near the sideline. -

@GunnerBill Just to let you know - Beane is looking for help finding the next Tyreek Hill. See what you can do for him, preferably without the baggage. -

It'd be nice to get a guy who can make the oline better and get on the edge to make the defense defend sideline to sideline. -

It will be interesting to see where the defense is improved. The easy way is trying to upgrade d-end, they were going after watt last year so there may be more of a commitment this off season to getting a guy. But if he's looking at guys in the secondary getting run by I hope he'll look at it objectively and improve what needs to be improved.
