  1. Teddy's gone - he needs something to do with his ocd.
  2. Grimm or Mike Heimerdinger. Anyone who can work with V Young deserves an interview.
  3. around 10pm, someone in the comments posted a video of the dual birds
  4. Seems to me like he could use a vet presence - I have to wonder what AVP was doing for him, if anything.
  5. Maybe if he was in camp on time they could have done that. Considering his youth and lack of playing time in college, I think it would be difficult for him to adjust to the pro game at olb. Unfortunately for most here, he is really a two year project at de.
  6. And they're more talented, which gives the team a chance to overcome mistakes, whether they are generated from the coach or players.
  7. As others have said, I think it's better to start building a team that doesn't need a superstar qb than building a team around a superstar qb. The development of a qb that already has a decent line would be much quicker imo. The only caveat would be if a qb is available at your draft position that the team feels is a franchise qb you have to take him regardless of need. Of course, picking the "can't miss qb" per our scouts/front office will scare me. Hopefully Buddy Nix is enough to steer us in the correct direction. I am hoping that we go heavy again early this draft because the players we got last year seem to be decent. If we can pull a couple more decent linemen and a decent lb out of the first 4 rounds, we could be in really good shape if we can find a veteran qb who can get the ball distributed to our skill people. Then a rookie qb drafted in 2011 can learn behind a knowledgeable qb and a decent oline.
  8. Jeff Garcia, draft some dt, ot, lb next year and then get a qb draft after that.
  9. I was thinking it would have been a good way to thin the herd at wr. I wanted to use him until either he broke or showed some value to the team. Tired of the he's too small to be an every down player stuff when he never got close to playing every down. Put him in there and let's see if he can do it.
  10. I hear in Cleveland the head coach mentality comes with a stranglehold, so no thanks.
  11. Come sail away - Styx - as sung by Eric Cartmann
  12. It's working well for Mularkey and G Williams - I wouldn't mind being on the other side of that. I would imagine he'd be very interested in beating the Pats*.
  13. As d coordinator only.
  14. I thought they should've made him the wildcat qb, but I guess we went no-huddle instead.
  15. Thanks for the update!
  16. Three cheers for continuity! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray! Hip hip hooray!
  17. I think I have finally misplaced my "funny" when it comes to this team.
  18. If they do make a move assuming after the season), I was thinking Russ Grimm.
  19. I don't see Wilfork in the game book on nfl.com for defensive stats. In game 17 last year he had 4 tackles/4 assists. Unless that's a mistake in stats collecting, I'd say we have improved.
  20. Probably think they don't need to spend the money...
  21. I went to the Pittsburgh game and the thing that stuck out to me was the lack of execution by the offense. It really started with TE, believe it or not there were times that Lee was open but TE doesn't have the experience to let the ball go. Given TE's development, Turk had to realize TE just wasn't getting the no huddle and it was too much for him to manage. I hope they work on execution with a smaller set of plays (as someone else mentioned) between now and the beginning of the season. Because as much as some people want to talk about "the right play call" it really comes down to execution every time. The particular play call can be easier or more difficult to execute depending on the defense, but in the end the team has to execute consistently. As stated many times by many people, a good team can run or pass ball when the other team is expecting it and that is about winning all the matchups on the field. Does this help the team execute better? We'll see. If nothing else it lights the fan base up.
  22. The 2009 Buffalo Bills - We have a sense of urgency to suck!
  23. Similar thing happened to James Harrison and the Steelers? The steelers dropped him twice and Baltimore dropped him once, it happens. All he's done is go on and win the Defensive mvp. Hines Ward was not in camp a few years ago but he got his deal done. The chapter is closed, but the book is still open. Can't wait for the next chapter.
  24. I don't know much in depth here, I do have opinions though. I have been around Pittsburgh for 25+ years now and I see how an organization like the Steelers or Penguins that is committed to winning behaves. I also have seen how the Pittsburgh Pirates have treated their players. Really the way the NFL is run now, playing for an undervalued contract is unprofessional. If JP had gotten hurt such that he was unable to continue his career do you think the Bills would have paid him his full contract? I also would state that he got what he wanted, didn't he? And it's not like the Eagles are the Raiders. I have never heard anything from JP other than he wanted to be paid appropriately for the position he was playing. The question was where in the pecking order of that position do you put him. The Bills did make a great commitment to him when he first went from TE to RT but nothing when he went from RT to LT, and from what I can tell that's where the issue is. He played what, 2 years at LT before contact issues came to a head. My point is that when the organization does not value winning first, the players sense that and look even more toward the financial side. There aren't hometown discounts from the top players. I thought JP's comments were very telling about some of the attitude in the locker room. This all sucks for the fans, but it's what we have. You can put as much blame on JP as you like, or talk about how he is going to balk once his contract gets outdated, but unfortunately for us he played the game and in the end he won and we lost.
  25. Peters treated the Bills the way he was treated by them - concerned about the business side first, winning second. Good for him that he is able to experience a different team management style and team attitude.
