  1. This news makes the Bears a must start in all fantasy leagues.
  2. He was the first coach I remember from when I started following the team. RIP
  3. I remember going to some games in the 90s when there absolutely was a home weather advantage at play. The two games that come to mind are Week 15 in 1990 when Frank Reich clinched the division after Kelly got hurt against the Giants, and the game three weeks later when Kelly came back and ran the Dolphins off the field in a 44-34 win that wasn't nearly as close as the score implies. I understand that there's not really a home team weather advantage any more as players move around more and don't grow accustomed to different climates (and because warm weather clothing is now a lot more advanced), but it will still be sad for me when they build a dome (which is probably the right call).
  4. You're not alone. I'm guessing the DA factored that into the decision not to bring charges. I hope he gets the help and treatment he needs to get well.
  5. Did they have to pay extra for his full body tattoo?
  6. We should trade the #12 pick to the Browns for Tyrod. Otherwise, TSW is going to be one boring place!
  7. A third rounder for a guy they were going to cut anyway? Wow!
  8. This was word for word the first thought that popped up when I saw the headline.
  9. I doubt it will happen, but the best case scenario to me is that a team ahead of us in the draft decides that McCarron is the answer and passes on a QB in the first round.
  10. Just like Jim Kelly, Eric Woods' final game was a wild-card loss to the Jags.
  11. Looks that way. I actually didn't have a problem with him leaving the Bills rather than work under Marv as GM. That was an awful decision by Wilson. That said, I'm not sure how many more chances Mularkey is going to have.
  12. Keenum made some terrible throws. Just incredibly poor decisions. And the last one was mostly just busted coverage. I'm not saying he played poorly, but he wasn't the reason the Vikes won.
  13. How did it take 10 posts before someone pointed this out? Following this logic, the Steelers shouldn't have let Cowher walk in 2006.
  14. I'm not going to go out of my way to watch, but I'm sure I'll catch parts of all four games. I honestly don't have the foggiest idea what's going to happen in the NFC.
  15. I like it! There was an entire Curb Your Enthusiasm episode this year devoted to foisting an employee who you'd like to fire onto some poor sap! http://ew.com/recap/curb-your-enthusiasm-season-9-premiere/
  16. So now there's another team looking for an OC. If the Bills plan on moving on from Dennison, they need to do it soon.
  17. Does Bortles have a charitable foundation? He may be next in line for some love from Bills fans.
  18. I'm in the same boat, and now I'm even questioning why I even started the OP, which I thought was a just a neat story about someone finding their calling and trying to do some good in the world. At the end of the day, the "I've got mine, and if you don't have yours it's your own fault" attitude is nothing new, but I'm not sure how or why it needed to take over a thread on what was otherwise just a nice story.
  19. I had forgotten about the negated interception. It's been so long since the breaks came our way that it's tough to process more than one at a time! My favorite memory as a Bills fan is still being in Rich Stadium for the 51-3 blowout of the Raiders in the 1991 AFC championship, but this is quickly creeping up the list.
  20. https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/01/04/ex-linebacker-turned-teacher-aaron-maybin-trying-help-heat-baltimore-schools Hint: he's an elementary school teacher in Baltimore city schools who is now fighting to get the heat back on in Baltimore schools in the dead of winter. This is a really cool story. I'm as guilty as anyone for knocking the guy's on-field performance, but he never asked to be undersized for his position, and I give him all the credit in the world for finding a profession that he loves, while also giving back to his home town.
  21. Let's see what happens in March when Sammy and the Rams attach very different dollar figures on the value of his newly developed intangibles.
  22. This is one of the reasons why I find it harder and harder to stay a football fan each year. I know there are major injuries in every sport, including ACL tears, but the regularity in which they happen in the NFL makes it really difficult to invest much in the game. I don't really pay the Eagles much heed, but this is one of the most exciting young players on one of the most exciting teams in the league.
  23. I think he'd be a great pickup but for the fact that he's really bad at football.
  24. Exactly. Wentz showed promise last season and has taken it to another level this year.
