  1. He has been pretty invisible. The comparison with Posey isn't great though. We had a different defense when he was here playing that position. Recall early in the season when Crowell was playing SAM and Ellison weakside. Crowell was not nearly as invisible as Spikes has been. I believe that we'll see if Spikes will really ever be a force again next season. He probably will never be quite the same again.
  2. Jacksonville is a candidate to move to LA. It was in the news a lot not even very long ago. They've covered up like 5000 seats because they couldn't get people in the building AND they have a team that's been consistently competitive. It's bad news down there.
  3. True. RJ cared about playing and winning. There are several big differences between JP and RJ that make JP better - 1. RJ got hurt constantly- like every other game. JP is far more resilient - and though maybe a bit shorter, about 15 lbs heavier. 2. RJ was athletic, but seemed totally unable to use his athleticism to even buy himself more time in the pocket. My main memories of him are him doing some spinning athletic move right into a monster DE and getting slammed to the earth and not getting up. 3. RJ didn't really care about the city of Buffalo. I think he lived in a hotel his whole time here. JP loves Buffalo, lives downtown, hangs out on Elmwood. We like to be appreciated.
  4. It's just a little too "woah is me." O-line needs to be fixed- but so did the defense. We need a ton of o-line help, which we need to address this offseason. You can't fix an entire team in one year.
  5. I would say that you have the loser's mentality.
  6. could be. I wish our line gave Losman that amount of time against bad defenses.
  7. Dude, watch the NFL.com highlights of the Jacksonville game. I was SHOCKED by the amount of time Garrard was getting. He could have taken a five minute nap on some of those plays and not been touched.
  8. So it's gotten to the point where we wouldn't even consider drafting someone from Miami? That, in my opinion, would just be really stupid.
  9. Wow, that's terrible. I was actually watching their DTs this past weekend with the draft in mind and really admired the way he and Kareem Brown played. Tons of intensity. I'm shocked.
  10. Haha, the funny thing is I don't even really disagree, I just think he kicked it too low.
  11. Get over yourself. You have your opinion I have mine. You act like your opinion is fact.
  12. amen. Half this board seems to be as stupid as Mularkey (nevermind the game in Chicago today). JP played bad. The O-Line played bad. But hey, no turnovers, and in the fourth quarter they won the game- whether or not they deserved to. First week with a new line and got a W in a hideous game. I'd take that in a heartbeat.
  13. If troy hadn't blocked it it probably would have bounced off the back of the O-Line. It was WAAYYY too low a kick. Vanderjadt is the biggest choker in the league.
  14. the next few weeks will really be interesting watching the O-Line. If Peters and Pennington can play tackle it totally changes what we do on Day 1 of the draft. Still need a first day guard I think, but we can more easily go elsewhere in the first round. I'm excited to see what happens.
  15. Two things: 1) The Bills O-Line seems to fold when it matters most; the Pats line seems to give Brady all day in those situations 2) There is only one Tom Brady - he is the exception to the QB rules. He makes gold out of sh**. That doesn't mean I don't hate his guts. The Pats wouldn't be anything - all those geniuses would look how they looked in '99- if they didn't strike gold with Brady.
  16. He played like crap against the Pats, but otherwise Evans has had a solid season. Our "glaring" need at WR is for someone to complement Evans, not the other way around. Ideally a big receiver that's a real threat in the red zone. I loved Moulds while he was here, but he turned into a b*tch the last few years and he's really not very good anymore. Evans is better than Moulds now. Moulds would not be getting doubled anymore anyway.
  17. Yeah I meant LG. My bad. I've got Left Tackle on the brain as most Bills fans do.
  18. none. Hard to judge them seeing as we've never seen them play. It could have moments of true ugliness though this week. However there were those moments before the change, so at least we're seeing what we've got. I think Gandy actually might be the answer at LT. I could be proven terribly wrong, but he's pretty big and can move and its supposedly his natural position. We shall see. The tackles will be the wildcard.
  19. I seem to remember preferring when Jonas wouldn't play with his injuries. When he tried it was REALLY ugly. The guy is good for about 5 games a season if he's lucky.
  20. I remember a play during the preseason where it was a screen play and Pennington got out in front and just creamed some defender. They called him for a facemask on the creaming, which was a pretty borderline call. The play really stuck out in my mind because he looked like a freak of nature on the move- quick and powerful. However in that same game (he was playing LT) he did get beat a few times around the edge. This of course was quite a while ago so I assume he's improved his form since then, and this was on the left side. I'm really looking forward to seeing what this guy can do.
  21. To judge a quarterback's future as a pro from his performance week to week is just stupid.
  22. That would be true if we actually used 2nd and 3rd round picks for the O-Line. We haven't. Just because you don't use a 1st rounder on a tackle doesn't mean you're failing to address the lines. The best guards don't go until the 2nd or 3rd and there are usually a few top rated tackles still there in the first half of the 2nd. We have been using second day picks and average to poor (Bennie) free agents to try and fix the line. That's clearly not working. I think if we use 2 of our 3 first day picks on a tackle and a guard, we will have gone a very long way towards shoring up this mess. I would like to take a tackle in the first, but I'm not closed on the thought of taking a play-making wideout so long as we address the line in the next two rounds and we think the talent will be there.
