  1. but by just barely. And I'd much rather have Losman than either of those two. It really does speak a lot to where we are now compared to last year.
  2. Steinbach's not going to get Hutchison type money. He's not nearly as accomplished and isn't actually as good either. He'd be a great pick up if he isn't ridiculously overpaid
  3. also NFL.com has some game highlights up on the main page.
  4. NFLdraftcountdown - who is covering Senior Bowl week - reported that the Bills scouts were seen talking with Okoye and the guard Manuel Ramirez.
  5. Very true. When I was picturing a cheap replacement for Anderson I was picturing somebody like Kyle Williams - strong and tenacious guy, but somebody that doesn't have freakish measurables.
  6. The pundits view Alan Branch as the top DT in the draft. He's kind of in the John Henderson mold and will almost certainly be a top 10 pick, maybe top 5. So Okoye will very likely be there at 12 (also the fact that he's a smallish DT and only 19 could scare some away)
  7. when I heard about his weight I automatically assumed that we would pass because we were looking for a bigger guy to replace Anderson. However since the guy has really shown that he's a force on the field with amazing character and smarts, he'll be tough to pass up. Also remember that after the draft last year the coaches said that they thought McCargo would be able to play both DT positions with time. Also it's possible that they think that a run stuffer upgrade from Anderson will be not too difficult to grab in FA - 1st - since it'll be easy to upgrade from Anderson because he's so bad; and 2- those kind of players are not quite as pricey as the athletic freak type DT's.
  8. the earliest I'd consider taking him is the 4th. If he can actually block effectively he'll be a valuable addition to the offense, if not, not so much. We need the first day for the big time help; this guy is kind of a luxury pick when we really need serious help at guard, maybe corner, big wideout, linebacker, DT, and maybe RB. Those are all higher on the priority list than a FB.
  9. You know I thought the same thing until I was talking to my buddy who's a 49er fan; He was out for much of the beginning of the year but started the final 7 games. His performances were so quiet that were really easy to miss. Actually he had one good day against the Cardinals but all in all not what you're hoping from a top 5 pick. Really though neither Davis or Bunkley have been in the league long enough to really say if they'll pan out or not.
  10. Brodrick Bunkley comes to mind for some reason... And how's that TE doing out in SF?... It's actually great that every year teams drop such high picks on workout warriors - leaves better players for us to draft.
  11. you might be able to find it in the audio vault at WGR550's website. They did a bunch of Bruschi clips like that - all hilarious.
  12. the weigh-in was today - the heights and weights were reported and discussed by nfldraftcountdown and probably many other sites. Okoye's height was 6'2 and his weight 287. His listed (by the school) height and weight was 6'1, 317 lbs.
  13. also it had him at 6'2 even; not 6' 1 and a 1/4. What is your source for your numbers?
  14. the numbers I've seen have him at 287 lbs from nfldraftcountdown.com. Still too light for a NT. Though he is only 20 years old and would probably easily gain a good 10 or 15 lbs with a little age and in a pro training regimen. McCargo was basically the same kind of prospect - 3 technique guy. We'll likely pass in rd. 1.
  15. whatever. Everybody liked him personally, that's for sure (unlike Willis).
  16. Colston came up huge that drive. We have a game now. As for Brown, it's funny how we forget how much he was lambasted by the fans for his play and penalties while he was here. At this point though that's a really dead issue.
  17. What was Sean Payton's logic in not practicing outside all week again? Stupid move. Saints offense looks totally out of sync on the crappy surface.
  18. Pitcock looked like a total fraud in the National Championship game. He spins around like a madman, making all kinds of football moves and ends up taking himself totally out of the play more often than not.
  19. First, they're going to be good as long as Brady is playing. Second, teams seem to want to fork over first day draft picks for their holdouts who aren't all that good (Bills are included in that). With that though they were very very lucky to beat the Chargers last week, but they say its better to be lucky than good. If I had to pick a team to win it all it would be the Pats. How can you really bet against them?
  20. actually I watched it again and he seemed a little more impressive than I remembered. We'll see.
  21. Seriously, after watching that video of Lynch- who I've never really seen play other than that highlight video - I don't know if he's going to be that good of a pro. He just doesn't seem to have that special speed or vision that separates rbs. He struck me as slow when hitting the holes between the tackles. Like his receiving though, and he seems really good in space.
  22. I guess it really illustrates how stats don't always tell the story.
  23. as close to the 50 as you can get - generally lower is better, but you don't want too low or you can't see everything - any row between 30 and 10 is pretty good and between the 35 yardlines is ideal imo. Club seats are boring. The sides are not excessively rowdy but they get excited. The club seats are too subdued for me. A lot of time people just stay in the club during the game and keep warm. What the hell is the point of that?!!
