Wasn't the Cotton Bowl, the Tony Temple Bowl?
Fewell733 replied to cale's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
it seems like we picked him up, per the article on the front page - so it seems like we're giving him a look despite being loaded at rb. We need 4 on the active roster and probably need one on the practice squad just in case so we don't have to bring in Shaud Williams again. http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/tiger-tra...ed-up-by-bills/ -
This video seems to sum it all up

It brings chills to imagine what Elmwood avenue would look like that night when it happens - total bedlam, tears, hugs, dancing - that's the dream, it's gotta happen -
according to PFT he was found - he had overslept

I don't think there is a reserve roster in the offseason. No, there's no way he's coming back - they're probably leaving him on the roster for as long as they can because it probably benefits him a little - maybe with insurance, maybe access to facilities. They're looking out for him however they can.

who the heck is Kevin Hardy??

Professional Sports on the Rise and Fall

soccer becomes a lot less dull when you have a strong rooting interest. Suddenly what looks boring on tv is high drama. Baseball is far far more boring than soccer but people are passionate about it because they care about outcomes, they know particular players and know the history behind the matchup. Just like all great sports, the teams are a product of the passions of the community they represent. Soccer, for that reason, isn't going to match up with the big sports anytime soon - but that doesn't mean that it won't ever be. In 50 years things might be very different. -

well that's certainly true - but I was talking basketball in the US, not worldwide. Great points. It's amazing how quickly the world has caught up with us in that one. -

this list is a little dated now and was probably more accurate about 5 years ago - hockey bottomed out about 2 years ago, and I would say is now a little bit on the rebound - so its low, but not still falling - soccer is definitely on the rise - but its a slow growth - Nascar has been on the rise but I've read that it's growth has flattened in recent years - Indy Car, Horse Racing, and Bike racing are one or two event a year sports and don't really fit with the others - boxing has been falling for 10 years and is definitely still falling on the rise - you have to put in the MMA type events - UFC etc. , they've basically supplanted boxing football and baseball seem to be pretty constant basketball i would say is back on the rise a little - the product is a lot better now than it was 5, 6 years ago - its too bad all the good teams are in the west -

what about Bryan Fletcher makes you think he's any better than any of our TE's? How is he proven at all? He has less of a track record than Courtney Anderson by a wide measure. Dylan Gandy might be worth looking into, but why did the Colts unload him and draft 3 interior O-lineman this year? -

Evans and Roscoe are both burners. We needed size and got it. -
the Judge, Frank Easterbrook, isn't just a big proponent of EULA's - he's one of the most famous judges in the country and a leader of the law and economics movement - which is at least interesting, even if you don't agree with half of it

How many CBs can we keep?
Fewell733 replied to elegantelliotoffen's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
6 max. Corner is a near lock to make the roster - and actually it seems that everyone that's seen him play thinks he's incredible. James or Youboty could be the odd man out if we only keep 5. Cox is almost certainly destined for the practice squad. -
he's almost certainly a practice squad player this year. Peters was a complete freak of nature with his speed. I don't think Bell has that kind of true speed, but he might be useful next year as a reserve tackle that could be used in tackle eligible plays. Basically I think he is a long term project but has the agility and size to be a very good tackle down the line.

I think that's unfair. It's hard to make out what he's saying, but if you listen he's not saying anything dumb at all. He's actually kind of thoughtful. Compare that to a guy like Willis, who just spews whatever nonsense has entered his head without a first thought, let alone a second. -

he's got a remarkable accent. Seems like a sincere kid - didn't just bluster that he's the next Deion - which is clearly what the host wanted him to say. -
they score too many points to only go 8-8, even with a total defensive collapse they'll still probably go at least 10-6, and probably better than that.

Rucker to Cleveland - why?
Fewell733 replied to bills-fan in arizona's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
teams design offenses around certain types of players - Cleveland's offense utilized a defense splitting TE that doesn't have to do much blocking. If Winslow gets hurt they don't want to have to totally change their offense. -
For those who wanted an upgrade at Center

Chambers and Whittle are fine backups - Preston, not so much. a lot of the picks just have to do with the fact that big guys can't do as much - and if they're not starting there isn't much room on the bench for them. Also I think we've demonstrated that we are more comfortable bringing in young veterans for the OL - the results last year spoke for itself. I think a big problem is simply that NFL rosters are too small - you need everybody to contribute and don't have space for a few guys that aren't going to see the field for a few years and can't contribute anything special on special teams. -
agree - Wilson does very good work.

very proud happy shut down corner - great return ability couldn't think of who he compares to as a corner (at least he's honest) looking forward to going up against Randy Moss weather - doesn't think it'll be much of a factor - has never played in snow but looking forward to it likes his wings hot! -

in some ways they have a point about the media - the Pats get lots of coverage, so they get extensive public praise and criticism. The Bills barely get any mention at all, positive or negative. Actually I've encountered a few "good" Pats fans that have a very good knowledge of the game - it's too bad they're drowned out by bandwagon tards. And regardless, their team is evil incarnate.

sweet - Felton is one of the guys I hoped we'd pick up. Great run blocker - needs to learn how to pass block.
