  1. also moving it north to the city actually makes it a shorter commute for Rochester folks anyway by about 20 minutes. I guess ideally maybe right next to HSBC, could share parking facilities though would obviously have to add more. Tailgating would definitely suffer unfortunately. We'd have a serious sports district. As for the high speed trains, I kind of think they'll be inevitable over the next 20 years as people try and fly and drive less.
  2. he threw a ball basically as high as he could in a panic with his eyes closed with the game in the balance. Shockingly it was intercepted. True about the other stuff though. I think it would make beating the Jets a lot more fun.
  3. disagree completely. why do you think the Pack doesn't want him? Did you see him against the Giants in the second half? Total collapse. Do you remember the two to three seasons before last year? Interception machine. He'll be going into a new place with new terminology and worse supporting cast (the Jets, the Bucks its more of a push). Plus basically negligible offseason preparation (whereas last year he trained for 6 weeks with special trainers to work on his timing and his conditioning). Personally I'm predicting a trainwreck situation. obviously I agree he's a 1st ballot HOF, but he hasn't played like one with any consistency (besides last year) for about 5 years.
  4. you guys have swallowed the Favre hype whole. I don't think he's worth fearing - if anything he'll leave the Jets screwed up for years by trading too much for him and screwing up there own qb situation for the next couple years. I, for one, love having the opportunity to destroy the image of the media darlings. To me that's a big part of being a Bills fan - beating Marino, Montana in KC, Elway, Boomer, the Dolphins generally.
  5. two games this year where we'd get the chance to end his career properly.
  6. Eugene Parker is seemingly out of control. Peters and Stephen Jackson have themselves a narcissistic fool for an agent.
  7. Fed Ex Field in DC holds 90k but its just not real loud for whatever reason. Baltimore has a really modern stadium and enthusiastic fans, but also it really didn't seem nearly as loud as the Ralph. Both DC and Baltimore have the most obnoxious crowd involvement gimmicks that by the 3rd quarter its not even ironically funny anymore (move those chains chanted after every first down is just stupid in Baltimore - in DC the PA repeatedly explains to the crowd when its appropriate to cheer, its just embarrassing).
  8. my recollection is that King didn't fit the cover-2 so well and wasn't Geisinger always hurt? Don't we have a 5th round guard starting in Brad Butler?
  9. Brennan played very well, but he definitely got pretty lucky on a couple passes - in fact one of his big plays of the night probably would have been picked by a more legitimate defender - but ultimately it wasn't. I'm rooting for the guy and think he can be alright as a starter given a couple years of hard work and good luck.
  10. I'm not that concerned because I think we're not in dire straights at cornerback and because it's ridiculously early - but there's been apparently little to brag about his play in training camp so far - and I guarantee you that if there was anything to brag about Chris Brown would be all over it. It's good that Corner is doing well though.
  11. obviously its real early, but reading the daily practice notes it sure sounds like Reggie Corner has been making a lot more plays and seeing more time with the first unit than McKelvin. It seems like in camp the good players flash ability - I feel like we've heard preciously little about McKelvin and that has me concerned. Just how much of a contributor is McKelvin actually going to be this year? It seems like his chances at starting are looking pretty remote.
  12. maybe Oprah would be interested in keeping the Bills in Buffalo. It would make for powerful television.
  13. a lot of low rounders and undrafteds making the team. bold calls some of them. every year there are surprises. I think Schouman is a sure thing though - and I think Wendling beats out Cox. And Ellison getting cut doesn't seem very likely. I think about 4 of the guys you list as making the roster are practice squad guys - Bell, Cox, Banks, maybe Felton.
  14. Ko will be the starting FS. Youboty, at best, will be the bottom rung CB on the roster (and that's if we keep 6). He has to at least beat out Kennard Cox - and that's no sure thing.
  15. hopefully the Fairchild school of offense has finally left town
  16. from the sounds of it - from Chris Brown - he seems to have an excellent shot as Royal is coming off some surgery and Schouman is playing well. Personally though I think whoever the starter is it may be more of an on paper thing and we'll rotate in tight ends depending on the package. Royal in more blocking heavy situations, Schouman for more receiving - at least at first.
  17. http://www.buffalonews.com/258/story/400527.html PITTSFORD — The Buffalo Bills reached an agreement on a contract with first-round draft pick Leodis McKelvin this afternoon. Terms were not immediately available. It's expected the deal will be for five years and will be worth roughly $3.6 million a year. McKelvin was the last Bills rookie unsigned. He was one of only four out of 31 first-round picks who had remained unsigned as of noon today. McKelvin missed the first three practices of the summer. However, he will be in camp in time for the first practice in pads, to be held Monday.
  18. i think he has a good chance at the practice squad if he shows something in camp and preseason. He could be the new Jason Jefferson.
  19. per profootballtalk.com - they say a hamstring injury, though it's gotta be kind of a serious one if you don't just hop off the field. redskins have gotten hit hard this training camp - Daniels, Buzbee, and now Thomas.
  20. just got text that Chris Ellis is signed and a 6th rounder edit - said it was 179th pick - that's Omon
  21. judging how we don't have any overt plans to make him return kicks this year and didn't have obvious deficiencies in the return game when we drafted him, I'd say we judged he was the best cornerback, and his ability to return kicks is just a nice bonus.
  22. no thanks on Favre - last year was his first good one in awhile. His career trend at this point has him losing more games than he's winning with his cavalier style of play (that's generous wording). It would be a great hype vehicle and maybe result in a couple more wins, but he isn't a savior. Even for a year.
  23. I say without reservation that JP is a better qb than Jon Kitna. Kitna gets a lot of benefit of the doubt because he has had some fantasy success, but the guy is more careless with the football than JP, has less pocket awareness, and has a weaker arm.
  24. I don't so much fear it coming back to haunt us more than I would rather him go to a place where I could root for his success.
