  1. McFadden's is great for Bills games. Probably about 100 Bills fans in the place, dozens of screens, 2 or 3 huge plasmas, 1 projection screen in the back. But yeah, they pretty much shut things down after the game is over, can always go across the street to 51st State which is a New York sports bar, but dominated by Giants and Jets fans (but they show the Bills too). I go to McFadden's pretty much every week during the season.
  2. Lynch, Evans, and Poz (if you have a league that you pick a defender). Lynch is a round 1 or 2 guy; Evans is a reserve receiver. Trent Edwards might be a good backup option, but I probably would pick him up later since it's unlikely he'd be picked.
  3. under 7-9 for him to be at risk. I think he's pretty safe though. There'd have to be a real implosion and the team looking listless. I think we've learned that instability at HC is the road to ruin and should be done only when it absolutely needs to be.
  4. could move Murphy to IR and encourage him to get the surgery he's putting off.
  5. http://rotoworld.com/content/HeadLines.asp...L&hl=121863 awesome
  6. Crowell seeking 2nd opinion Today Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 12:40 PM ET | Link CROWELL SEEKING SECOND OPINION: According to Bills head coach Dick Jauron, LB Angelo Crowell still has not has surgery on his injured knee as he's seeking a second opinion. That still doesn't change his status of being on injured reserve. His 2008 season is effectively over. --- What the heck is going on? Now he might not even get the surgery? Sounds either like the surgery is more major, or Crowell is now hoping to get released/injury settlement kind of thing like we did with Troy Vincent.
  7. Costanzo is competent depth Today Posted By: Chris Brown | Time: 10:23 AM ET | Link COSTANZO IS COMPETENT DEPTH: The Bills signing of Blake Costanzo to fill the spot left vacant by Crowell's I-R move makes sense. With two days before the opener you need someone that knows the defensive scheme inside and out. He's also a solid special teams player who was edged out for a roster spot by Jon Corto. Costanzo was a more valued commodity than Donnie Spragan because he's younger and can cover more ground than Spragan who struggled in space.
  8. we might see it a little bit. Chris Brown mentioned a day or two ago that we might sometimes give a 3-4 look in our defense.
  9. he's played at about this weight his whole career. in the offseason he was asked a lot about it (by fans) and he indicated that most pass rushing DE's are playing around this weight range despite what they're listed at.
  10. they need to explain themselves here. Crowell is done as a Bill, that's for sure. Hope we have a plan in motion. We'll see.
  11. looks like we're moving on. Crowell apparently isn't in our longterm plans. He can't stay healthy enough for the coaches to rely on him and now he kind of stabs the team in the back right before the opener. Not sure putting him on IR is the right thing to do though. Jauron is clearly ticked off in the video. I wonder if the union will have a problem with this?
  12. everyone in the entire game? that's weird, sounds like a glitch. I've never seen that problem before. Best I can say is to try again. Maybe make only a couple changes to the roster before saving and see if it still happens.
  13. article in the Post today about Kelly and Thomas and their major struggles http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8090102657.html Kelly - can't stay on the field and doesn't know the playbook Thomas - just doesn't understand the offense, plus some injuries McMullen, mentioned above, was the Skins most productive receiver in the preseason and was cut because they only kept 5 receivers (gotta keep the high draft picks)
  14. don't expect anybody from Obama's staff to raise the issue or try and cast it as a negative. If they did it could backfire, at least in the short term. What should be keeping McCain awake at night is that the media will latch on and not let go because its tabloid type material - and then it becomes a major detraction and distraction. It'll be hard to keep spinning it as a positive for long as more details emerge. I mean she's only been a headliner for 3 days and its already looking pretty bad - and it really doesn't help that she doesn't have much else to hang her hat on other than her social conservative credentials. A guy like McCain skirts a lot of criticism in the major press for his gaffes because he's been in gov't for 25 years and has "a lot of money in the bank" (as Chuck Todd said) in the eyes of the press.
  15. I don't know what to make of all this. I'm an Obama supporter so politically I like the consequences of all this kind of junk, but I really don't like how such a media feeding frenzy really only happens with anything salacious. That said as much as I don't want to bother with the 5 month old story, the facts surrounding raise a lot of red flags that something fishy was going on (the daughter's 5 months off from high school for mono, Palin announcing she's pregnant at 7 months and nobody having any idea up to that point, the traveling from Texas to Alaska after her water broke a month premature - medically unsafe and unsafe for the airlines, bypassing hospitals to go to her private doctor a considerable drive away). I don't buy into the any of the pictures really - the daughter ones don't prove anything and look like a normal teenager with a little belly thing, not uncommon. There are seemingly only 2 or 3 pictures of Palin pregnant and if she could have easily worn a little belly thing if she had wanted to. Despite that I'm not sure there's much wrong with it really even if true and I feel dirty for even discussing this. People are naturally curious about famous people's personal lives so the media will love this kind of tabloid garbage - which really does everyone a disservice.
  16. seriously? It was such an insane line it was hilarious.
  17. you really should knock off the name calling. What is the point? Just point out how you disagree, it weakens your argument here which is a very valid one.
  18. I know why they chose her, I just think it's painfully cynical, I didn't say it doesn't work. I was responding to someone implying that I was sexist for pointing out the obvious. why do you and the others arguing for the republicans see fit to insult posters that are trying to debate the merits, I didn't say anything to attack you?
  19. I don't disagree, but I think this is precisely the reason the pick is so pathetic. It ignores what is actually best for America should McCain win, instead focusing only on the typical BS electoral politics.
  20. 1. no dispute there 2. I'd like to have someone that isn't an ignoramus as president for a change. 3. Obama has demonstrated brilliance, that's how he got the nomination, not time spent in Washington. Executive experience in Alaska to me though doesn't equal time in the Senate in Washington as far as knowing how to run the country. But that's just my opinion. She could show herself to be brilliant too (in ways politicians do), she'll have that chance, but she hasn't faced the pressures of national campaigning. Obama's experience campaigning and facing that heat is likely far more demonstrative of his ability to lead than the experience of watching over what is basically an empty state.
  21. give a rational argument that she wasn't. And the sexism is on the part of the republicans for cynically believing that women are stupid enough to vote for someone just because she's a woman.
  22. BA in Journalism from Idaho and small town politics. How do we know she even really understands the workings of the Federal Gov't or the Constitution? She would be ready to step in as Commander in Chief?? She seems like a nice person though, in all seriousness.
