  1. hard to imagine how it would get an NC-17 unless they were trying to show Dr. Manhattan's junk or maybe the mass human carnage in NYC. I think the preview is pretty good, I like the Phillip Glass music and the visuals. The sound bytes they choose aren't what I would choose, but a trailer is made for very particular reasons - to widen a movies appeal.
  2. polish is exactly the reason that Steve Johnson is taking Hardy's reps from him. Hardy can be great but in the NFL you have to know what you're doing. http://www.buffalonews.com/sports/story/500382.html
  3. A comparison to the other "big" receivers we were considering is probably more appropriate. Devin Thomas - 7 catches, 77 yards, 0 touchdowns Malcolm Kelly - hasn't seen action yet Limas Sweed - 6 catches, 64 yards, 0 touchdowns
  4. Alex Mack (who really knows who the top guy is at this point) receiving TE - Brandon Pettgrew or Chase Coffman DE - whoever as long as they're more a pure pass rusher type (missing Schobel its really clear how bad our pass rush depth is) OLB (not 225 lbs)
  5. one big problem with this point is that Paul Hamilton is awful and, in my experience, doesn't seem to know what the heck he is watching (or isn't really watching) when it comes to football.
  6. i just emailed chris brown asking him this exact thing.
  7. it really is. I take comfort in the imagining what it would be like to be a Lions fan.
  8. quick passing. getting the ball to the backs and receivers in space. It seems ideal for our personnel - Trent's quick release, Lynch, Jackson, Roscoe, with Evans as the all over the field threat.
  9. well obviously if they continue to play like crap they'll lose next week or week after. again, 20% is really bad odds, but even still, you're probably right, I'm probably spotting them 5% just cause i'm an optimist.
  10. agreed, a few big plays made by players get you wins. the ones you mentioned are perfect examples. Each week we're leaving plays on the field that could change the results - lack of plays on the ball in the air by Royal and Hardy stand out to me over the past month.
  11. played awful yet still put us in a position to win. what more can you ask for when your qb plays awful? I'm not turning on him though but the season is more than likely over. Draft a center. Maybe that one from Cal.
  12. its just a screen name. your overwhelming desire, as you're probably used to, will be denied to you.
  13. 20% isn't good odds, btw. I'm just saying its not impossible. In fact I think winning in KC might be our biggest test, especially coming off this week.
  14. might have a chance with 1 more loss, but it would be hoping to sneak in. at KC SF Miami in Toronto at Jets at Broncos Pats will take an extraordinary stretch but certainly, taken one week at a time, its legitimately not ridiculous, especially if we simply cut down on turnovers. i'd give it a 20% chance.
  15. i don't disagree about the playcalling at the end, i'd have tried at least one pass there. I'm saying the tone of this board and the fans would be radically different.
  16. if the kick goes through, as it does more than half the time, it's a gutsy win
  17. that's really the main thing I'm looking for from guys like Turk and Perry. Adjustments to fix what isn't working. Our defense too often seems vanilla and we don't adjust and keep getting beat by the same stuff. Our offense needs better playcalling to make it much more unpredictable - I don't care if we go shotgun the whole game if we run out of it as well as pass out of it so the defense doesn't know what's coming - shotgun pass, under center bunch run, shotgun pass is WAY too predictable against NFL defenses.
  18. actually i was having that feeling a few days ago, now I'm having the exact opposite feeling and thinking we may blow them out with Lynch having a big day. Hope I'm right.
  19. they're 7-3 because of their offense, not their defense. I wasn't able to pick a single player of those available after Leodis that clearly would have been a better choice. sorry.
  20. the "ifs and buts" of picking one guy over the other when both guys have turned out to be very good players is pretty pointless re the endless Whitner v. Ngata debate. Should we have drafted more lineman on day 1 over the past 10 years? absolutely. But when a GM comes to a team with a trash line you need to get blockers in there immediately. We now have at least a serviceable line - 2 years ago we genuinely didn't. Now we have the flexibility to draft lineman without needing them to necessarily start immediately - though at some positions they probably could (center in particular).
  21. lose monday and we have to win out to have a good chance at the playoffs. so yeah, I'm willing to call it a must win.
  22. I'm glad you did the work on this. It's really becoming predictable and I think this is a HUGE reason why the running game is dying a quick death in Buffalo. In my opinion, it looks like Turk is more like Fairchild than we had thought.
