His Resume is pretty solid. The college record is not important, recuiting is the name of that game .
two playoffs years with Dallas on a team that fell of a cliff after he left.
Plus a lot of good work in other places. No this is not the glamor name we wanted but at least we have a solid football guy. I am sure he has enough contacts to put together a coaching staff .
bottom line this is not a disaster . Time as always will tell
yeah. It's foolish not to give somebody an opportunity to prove you wrong about your first impression. But it's not an inspiring choice. The real test of course is wins and losses. "Hot" coaching candidates flame out just as often as dull ones.
if it ends up being Gailey I wonder who he plans on bringing in for the defense
-
what kind of offense does Gailey even run?
-
that would be shocking. I don't really know much about the guy other than he's been around awhile. I'm more than a little concerned about him not really coaching much in the NFL this past decade...
I hope we're not just hiring somebody right now because we don't want to wait a few weeks.
-
nabbing Marcus McNeil would sure make our offseason a lot less complicated

I like many have my reservations on the Frazier choice because of the Dungy connection. It seems to me we are being force fed this whole Rooney Rule thing. Seattle never interviewed a black coach before hiring Pete Carroll. Neither did the Washington Redskins. Now that Dungy is close with Goodell it seems he is using NBC as his stage to do his preaching. It shouldn't matter what color the person is the best qualified candidate should get the position regardless of who you know. This whole because I am black I am entitled thing is crap.

Hastening the return of Todd Collins!
the prodigal son returns!!
-
Does anyone know who Fraziers connections are on the offensive side of the ball? Getting the right OC would be critical.
the word was that he was planning on bringing in Al Saunders as his OC
-
it's pretty cool that this game is Frazier vs. Garrett. Loser gets a head coaching job?
-
Did anyone see Leslie Frazier on the sidelines??? He shows emotion equivalent to that of Jauron...
I'm ok with a stoic personality if his team in front of him is playing with high intensity.
-
Im still pissed we never kept Pat Williams here
that move by itself might be worthy of keeping Donahoe out of a job in the NFL.

It's very rare for person his age. Many times Dr's look at risk factors like blood pressure in older patients.
In younger people it is picked up when getting Xrays or MRI's for something else.
I guess i figure a pro football player is getting lots of x-rays and MRI's. what a shame.
-
good players still need to be put in position to succeed. It also shows what kind of players that he wants to have. Also its pretty clear that his brand of the T2/4-3 is FAR more rugged and aggressive than Jauron's.
Also, really, what successful coach doesn't have good players?
I'm actually kind of excited about Frazier. I think more so than Grimm at this point.
-
so sad. RIP.
it's shocking that with the amount of medical monitoring these athletes receive that something like this wouldn't be noticed. Is an enlarged heart totally asymptomatic?
-
its more like "looking for a coach with head coaching experience who doesn't suck"
-
I think this year, unlike most, we are in a good position to trade-down.
-
Dan Williams from TN is another serious DT candidate.
-
wow, surprised none of us thought of the Mularkey connection with Grimm.
Also, I'm starting to feel more and more like Grimm may not really be an ideal head coach, and he may know it. He's been a "hot" coaching candidate for a good chunk of this decade yet hasn't even been promoted to coordinator. Assistant Head Coach is a fake job as far as I can tell.

I like Fitzy in the mix. I don't like him as the plan.

Very true...
One more tidbit too: Pats have FOUR picks in the first 2 rounds this year...they are in prime position to restock the cupboards with more young talent. It didnt help either that Brady was missing the league leader in receptions in this years playoff game.
I guarantee the Pats win at least 11 games again next year (barring major injuries to Moss, Welker, or Brady) and could win as many as 14. Moss, Welker, and Brady are young enough still to be dominant for a few more years. Add into the mix all the picks NE has this year to restock or use as trade bait to get some top players and its hard to imagine them being anything other than a SB contender every year for the next 3 years.
Lots of rumors that they may use some of those draft picks to try an pry Steven Jackson from St. Louis...not to mention Julius Peppers is once again being linked frequently to NE.
Welker's season next year is in serious jeopardy with his knee injury and the position he plays.
Pats have the picks, but they sure don't like to use them.
That said, they'll probably will win 11 next year. That's not exactly the level they've been accustomed to though.
-
Yea well, watch in disbelief as Belichick trades for Brandon Marshall and drafts a few players for the O line, that Patriots team is one or two players away from another super bowl.
they're 1 or 2 players away from being a dominant offense again. Their defense needs a lot of help. You can win a lot of games though with just a dominant offense.
-
was the better choice over the Chicago gig since Lovie's probably on the way out after next season.
-
dynasty teams don't lose Superbowls.
their defense is a mess. Welker's season next year is in serious doubt. Moss and Brady will be a year older and Moss seems to barely care about the game. How many more seasons will Bellichik even coach? He doesn't seem to have that same intensity anymore. And they haven't had a good draft in 5 years. They basically trade out of the draft each year.
-
he also looks suspiciously like Dan Dierdorf, if Dierdorf let himself go a bit. Or maybe its Andy Reid on the Taco Bell drive- thru diet.
in all seriousness though, i actually didn't realize he wasn't the Cardinals offensive coordinator.
-
Its about the roster and wether or not they will be given the opportunity to suceed.
and succeed in the short run. Any team without a viable QB on the roster has an exceptionally tough time winning - you need a dominant O-line and defense to even hope to sniff the playoffs. And today if you don't win quickly, that could be it.
