  1. We're bringing in linebackers all week - why would we sign the first guy we talk to. also Cato June ain't all that great anymore. To think these players give sympathy visits is actually pretty delusional. these are million dollar decisions that both sides are making.
  2. seriously, this thread appears on TBD virtually every day.
  3. invest heavily in defensive talent in the draft. Hope that Edwards turns into a star (with a line that can both pass and run block).
  4. he's a good player. he's smart and knows what he's supposed to do in a complex defense. He isn't the kind of athlete that can cover half the field though, like safeties need to be able to do in our defense.
  5. well at this very instant OG is a P2 - but probably come draft day it would be a P3 since we have to sign somebody. OC and OG are kind of linked, in that the reserve will probably have to be able to step in at either position. DT is kind of between a P3 and P4 - its a spot where we'd take a starting caliber talent if the opportunity is there in round 1 or 2, but we could live with a depth addition later to replace McCargo on the bottom of the rotation. I guess that may fit the definition of P3. CB - I think we are always willing to draft corners. OLB - seems more like a P3 to me. It may be that I just think you don't have to reach for linebackers, in general, cause they tend to get drafted later then prognosticators expect (though less so with OLBs).
  6. league minimum?? Coles would help the team a whole lot. I agree that people are mistaken though if they think he's a star.
  7. he's a good starting receiver that we can rely on for a couple years while guys like Hardy and Steve Johnson learn how to play. I don't think he's worth 6 mill a year though.
  8. hopefully this is an indication that we're learning from past mistakes
  9. I think Snyder wants to win, he just fails. Jerry Jones' first priority is clearly to keep the Cowboys in the news - winning is one way to do that but its easier to run a circus.
  10. we should throw in Evans, Lynch and Jackson for Brandon Marshall while we're at it.
  11. I'd do it for a 4th. 3rd is tough but arguable. A 2nd would be seriously overpaying.
  12. we need at least 2 more interior lineman, one of which needs to be a starting caliber guard
  13. any team that would want Kitna is nuts. He is to quarterbacks what "The Love Guru" is to Comedy.
  14. http://blogs.buffalonews.com/billboard/200...ls-on-dock.html February 28, 2009 No fault by Bills on Dock Here's the clarification on the potential trade of Derrick Dockery to Detroit that never came down. The Bills planned to release Dockery on Thursday. About two hours before the 4 p.m. deadline to make cuts, the Bills heard from Detroit, which was interested in acquiring Dockery. Talks ensued. Dockery was due a roster bonus at 12:01 a.m. Friday of $1.75 million. If the Bills were going to make a trade, Dockery would have to agree to push back the bonus and he would have to get a physical in Detroit and agree to the deal before it could be official. So the Bills would have to file paperwork to push back the roster bonus to the fifth day of the league year. That paperwork would have to be filed by 4 p.m. Talks between the Bills and Lions ensued and there was no deal as of 3:30 p.m. The Bills might have been able to acquire Jon Kitna, a league source reports, but the Bills already had targeted Ryan Fitzpatrick of the Bengals and wanted him instead. By the time the Bills and Lions finally came to an agreement on what they would deal in return for Dockery - it was a seventh-round pick in 2010 - it was within minutes of the 4 p.m. deadline, and the Bills determined that there was no way they could get all the paperwork required done in time to make it happen. The Bills filed the paperwork to release Dockery. They never even filed any of the paperwork required to push the bonus back five days. Dockery was free to pursue free agency, which he did. ---Mark Gaughan
  15. anyone who is jealous because we didn't get Kitna has obviously never watched him play and are relying solely on his Fantasy Football scores from a couple seasons back.
  16. I'd be shocked since Seattle runs a west coast offensive system and JP is basically incapable of functioning in that kind of offense.
  17. I think that's some serious hyperbole.
  18. no way the chiefs would give up their 1st this year. That would be completely insane.
  19. It's an ok move. Not ground shifting. I've seen him play a few times and he really looked like he continued to get better as the year went on last season. He was dreadful in the first few games I saw but later in the year he looked a lot more competent. He's an upgrade over Losman, in that he can actually manage an offense. Has Losman generated any interest yet from anyone?
  20. he got better as the year went on for them. I recall watching him early in the year and he looked so terrible I couldn't believe it. Later in the year he was much less terrible.
  21. not to mention the one guy we've brought in - Jamie Winborn
  22. Do you even remember the offensive line under Donahoe? 2 words: Bennie Anderson.
  23. good news. A very capable reserve at the least.
  24. when did Turk have a no FB philosophy? It was Fairchild that had that and Turk abandoned last year when he became OC.
