  1. I think there is a good chance of Chase dropping a good deal. His injury has basically meant he hasn't been able to do any serious workouts for anybody and he's already considered a pretty one dimensional TE at this point. WOW - just read some of the best/worst case for the prospects - I feel dumber for it. Apparently the worst case scenarios for most of the top 10 is that they'll only be extremely good football players rather than Hall of Famers... Malcolm Jenkins worst case scenario is that he'll end up like Antoine Winfield rather than Champ Baily? Wow. That list could be Exhibit A for the stupidity of sports coverage in this country.
  2. don't forget there is going to be about the quality of player available through FA even up to the preseason as there currently is available now. We often pick up veterans during that period - however it seems they usually end up on IR before preseason is out
  3. looks really impressive. Spike Jonze doesn't mess around when it comes to an artistic vision.
  4. sometimes players visit as favors to agents, etc. it would be pretty inexplicable if we drafted a corner before the 4th round at the very least.
  5. While Tuck might be about 275, Schobel had said - when people were questioning why he was so light (mid 240s) - that he had talked to Umenyiora and he had told him he was playing at about the same weight as Schobel despite at what he was listed at. take passrushers listed weights with a grain of salt and don't think that a guy has to legitimately be 270 to play DE in this league. In fact we have two already - Kelsay and Denney are both Ayers' weight and can't rush the passer worth anything despite impressive workout numbers and college production.
  6. that was my point, and why i think he might rate him high on his DE rankings
  7. I think Mayock has gotten fixated on thinking that most of the top DE's are really OLBs in a 3-4 because of their size. I think he's wrong.
  8. we knock the Pat Thomas signing cause we never heard of him, but he was the Chiefs starting middle linebacker for 9 weeks last season before he got injured. I don't see how Keiaho would be a better pick up than Thomas honestly. He'll be very much in play for the starting job. Plus there's the draft. And then people cut and sign more people as the season gets closer.
  9. i like the uniform but think the logo stinks. doesn't look like it's real anyway.
  10. well I don't think it's considered his strength but he wouldn't be considered an elite prospect if he didn't have some ability in coverage.
  11. yes he is. In fact Fewell even said they were leaving open the option of moving Poz to the outside in an interview before the combine.
  12. wow you are just totally wrong. In fact Schobel and Kelsay are totally different types of players. here are some highlights of Barwin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u79CJdrxZbo the dude is a maniac
  13. I'm right there with you. I don't mind the Whitner pick. The top 10 picks are littered with busts every year, to get a solid player and team leader is not a blown pick (and who is still now only 23). I wasn't trying to argue that Whitner was a bad pick, I wash just pointing out that he wasn't picked under Donahoe.
  14. great find! Just the other day I was just thinking of when my grandfather took me to Freddy's Doughnuts on Main Street shortly before it closed.
  15. I don't think anybody we'd be signing at this in point in FA would be a certain answer to any need.
  16. that works so long as there is real choice involved. If all doctors do it, or even doctors of the type you need to see, then that is a serious issue.
  17. The LSU guy is almost 300 lbs and would almost certainly be a defensive tackle in our system. He's a 3-4 defensive end pretty much exclusively. He isn't nearly the athlete or the pass rushing threat of the top 4-3 defensive ends. Our problem is pass rush.
  18. but this isn't really true at all. The top ten is just as full as hits and misses as 10-20 and is often safer since a lot of top 10 picks get blown on lousy QBs. Haynesworth was picked #15 Freeney was picked #11 Patrick Willis was picked at #11, Haloti Ngata at #12, DeMarcus Ware at #11 Shawn Merriman at #12 Tommie Harris at #14 Vince Wilfork at #21 Terrell Suggs at #10 Ty Warren at #13 Troy Polamalu at #16 Ed Reed at #24 Marcus Stroud at #13 Julian Peterson at #16 those are just some of the examples over the past 7 or 8 drafts, not counting the most recent one
  19. here's Ayer's highlights from the Vols/Bama game http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccuoGx3A6t4
  20. the talk of the third round is highly unrealistic. There is a tiny chance he's still there at our 2nd pick. I'd rather get more of a pure pass rusher that we can move around and cause defenses problems. If we got Ayers AND Connor Barwin, I'd be very happy.
  21. the Pats became dominant when they struck gold with Brady and have drafted good lineman in the early to mid rounds and then bought/traded for their receiving talent. However, it is their defense that has made them consistently a great team over the past 8 years and that is what they have built through the draft and it has been built by high first round picks in the front 7. Richard Seymour - 1st round, 6th overall Vince Wilfork - 1st round, 21st overall Ty Warren - 1st round, 13th overall Jerod Mayo - 1st round, 10th overall How many 1st rounders have the Bills invested in their current front 7? 0. trading down is fine. but to be a consistently good team in the NFL you need a great defense and to have a great defense you need elite talent. We need elite talent. If we can trade down and get comparable talent, fine. If not, don't do it.
