  1. All Schobel needs to do to return to being effective is get healthy. The little he played last year he was playing with a lisfranc injury that typically ends seasons. You have no spring off of one of your feet. I don't think his weight is the issue.
  2. take it up with the Florida legislature. He'll be out millions in civil damages, plus a destroyed reputation. Also I certainly think the league should suspend him, I'm just not sure he should be the poster-child for bad actors off the field, even if he was the cause of someone's death - it was, ultimately, an accident, albeit an accident that was his fault.
  3. I think it's a little questionable. Stallworth is paying a high price in the criminal and civil justice system. I don't know what his status was in the drug/alcohol program of the NFL - but I think that would be highly relevant to the degree of punishment the league should be doling out. 2 years would seem high compared to the much more intent driven crimes that others routinely get wrist slapped for.
  4. I believe Schobel has more career sacks against Tom Brady than any other player in the league.
  5. most likely the zoo will be strictly liable since it's a wild animal, but the brothers damages will be reduced by their comparative responsibility, which is decided by a jury. and really it'll just settle like almost all cases do.
  6. I always thought the "Buffalo Soldiers" would have made for a good team name for a Buffalo franchise
  7. that was some of the worst officiating I've ever seen last night - and I'm only mildly rooting for the Nuggets. That was atrocious from whistle to whistle. I sincerely wonder about the honesty of that league.
  8. jones is horrible and he's coke head and a drunk. Travis Henry and Vick at least have at least had some success in the league.
  9. a truly forgotten great comeback is that win over the Colts in the late 90s under Todd Collins and Eric Moulds. Great game.
  10. one difference is that Fletcher was a middle linebacker while Pisa is an outside backer.
  11. I always kind of question comments like that when the guy leads your team in tackles. No one on their roster tackled the runner more than he did, regardless of what the number is when he steps on a scale.
  12. Not close at all. While success hasn't been found in either yet, it's too soon to judge the drafts of Levy and the verdict is clearly in on Donahoe. What really separates the two though is Donahoe's use of an unsustainable approach to building a team. Bledsoe was a shot in the dark - fun for a while, but ultimately only that - and then cut the cord too early for a guy that didn't know the game yet in Losman. Let Pat Williams walk for really no reason at all. Brought in old overpaid players on defense like Sam Adams. Never addressed the offensive line outside of a colossal bust of top 5 pick, even though it was clearly our weakest link. It could be that a lot of these choices were through the ego of Gregg Williams, and the empty shirt of Mike Mularkey, but by the time he left the team was basically in ruins and needing rebuilding from the ground up.
  13. I think we probably already had our surprise cut with Dockery. I guess there could be an outside chance of Kelsay, though I really really doubt it. Ko Simpson is a strong candidate for being a likely cut, but that's not really a shocker.
  14. I'd just say to keep in mind that she's only in 8th grade. These kind of patterns don't necessarily hold true, especially in a period of so many changes for a child. If all it takes is an ipod to get her to focus in, that can be something that can be worked with. But I'm not a professional.
  15. I agree. I'm not a parent, but it seems to me that professional advice outside of a single public school counselor should be sought.
  16. I know the Sabres don't want it to happen, but I think it would be fun. What a hockey corridor it would be! The rivalries would be great. The NHL shouldn't be in Arizona anyway.
  17. I watched the draft with a Lions fan and he was not pleased with the Pettigrew pick. Neither of us could believe they passed on Oher at 20. And then they passed on Maualuga at 33! How good would there draft look if they had Stafford and those two?
  18. he had lost it by the end - his knees were shot and had lost a lot of his arm and was getting sluggish in his reads and making poor decisions with the football, or maybe it was just making decisions that his body couldn't execute. He took a look a more of a beating over the years than a guy like Marino, who I think played another 3 or 4 seasons. So maybe in a perfect world where he didn't take such a beating over the years, maybe 3 or 4 more seasons of gradually declining play. Could have been good enough though
  19. Nic Harris was pretty well known. Not necessarily be the draft sites as of late cause it wasn't clear he had a true NFL position. Similar situation to Kevin Ellison.
  20. I believe I heard he led the Big 12 in personal fouls and unnecessary roughness penalties. I think he likes physical play. as for Freeman he has the measurables but he never dominated anything like Nic Harris did on the field.
