  1. the Bills may want to keep the signing under wraps until after tomorrow's game so they don't have to cut a player to make room for Maybin (since he won't be playing tomorrow regardless).
  2. yeah they do have trouble. However apparently their stadium is a mess there, like a lot of seats are obstructed view. That's the excuse I've heard anyway.
  3. more news achilles injury, but not a tear http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...ved-to-be-torn/
  4. leg injury per pft link http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...roethlisberger/ update - achilles injury but not believed to be torn http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/...ved-to-be-torn/
  5. i don't think he's ever in his career played halfheartedly. Can you name a single instance of him doing this over his 13 year career? He is no Randy Moss. His issues have nothing to do with effort.
  6. the lesson? is if you're going to carry a gun into a nightclub and accidentally shoot yourself, don't do it in a city with the most strict gun laws in the country.
  7. went there as a kid a long time ago. Be wary of going through the monkey drive through thing. They ripped everything they could grab a hold of off my grandparents' car.
  8. always liked Baker, but when he played here it was a different defense. Doubt we'll have any interest.
  9. i think this kind of thing can become "turf toe" if you don't give it the rest and recovery it needs. Geez, we have 3 more preseason games. This preseason is LONG. This I think we know about T.O., he'll do whatever he can to make sure he's playing come the regular season. Even if that means weeks in his hyperbaric chamber.
  10. there are others that can answer these better but 1. basically a 1 technique is a nose tackle, they line up right over the center and are usually stout type players like Kyle Williams, or absolute giants like Ted Washington. 3 technique try to shoot a gap between the interior lineman and are usually the more athletic type defensive tackles - Warren Sapp probably being the best ever at this. 2. designed for pressuring the quarterback. I don't think any defense is currently running a 4-6. It's really just a way of running a 4-3 where the strong safety stays near the line and blitzes a lot. the SS is usually a big guy or a big hitter like a Lawyer Milloy. 3. I think the Offensive Quality Control coach does stuff like putting together materials for game planning and watches a lot of game video making notes for game planning.
  11. shocking that he might struggle when taken out of a situation where he had the best deep threat receiver in football, the best slot receiver in football, and arguably the best offensive line in football. And honestly, while his numbers were good last year, he wasn't that impressive when you actually watched him play.
  12. good to know that he's an option to carry the ball. i bet the coaching staff is mainly making sure he knows how to hang onto the football.
  13. I remember when Jonathan Scott was one of the top tackle prospects according to a number of pre-draft magazines a few years back. Further proof that they don't know what they're talking about. i think he's a good RT but not sure he can play anywhere else. I have trouble seeing how he makes the 53 man roster as a result. He's not going to make over Bell and Chambers can play any position on the line other than center. Then you need a back up interior guy like McKinney and that's really all the space you have.
  14. I know. I think they make room. Dump a special teams only guy that normally sneaks on the roster for a guy that can actually contribute otherwise. I'm looking at you Wendling.
  15. agree. Wendling is a special teams only guy and I'm sick of those kind of players taking up spots on the roster when we need real depth on offense or defense. Ko doesn't seem to know how to cover. Still plays like a rookie.
  16. stock up: Lankster - 2 picks Harris - athletic playmaking Copeland Bryant - good pressure, sack/fumble - maybe Kelsay or Denney should be concerned Stock down: Ko Simpson - doesn't seem to know how to cover people at an NFL level Ashton Youboty - hasn't done anything, in last year of contract, position is crowded and he has trouble staying healthy Bruce Hall - thought he'd outshine Omon for the 4 spot this year, only has a couple good plays (and against scrubs) and that's with a LOT of playing time edit - I forgot Stupar. I'd put him over Bryant I guess. He seems like a rugged TE, catches everything, tough as hell. I think we keep 4 TE's this year cause this guy can really contribute.
  17. point is the thread is trying to dump on trent for no good reason. the other guy, Cutler, a much more heralded qb, played markedly worse and much worse than even his stats indicate.
  18. Cutler's stats were also misleading. He could have easily had 3 INTs.
  19. I'll be a little disappointed if either Jenkins or Wendling make the roster
  20. that tip is the kind of play Ellison doesn't make but neither is blowing the coverage on the TE (at least in the coach's eyes)
