  1. ok, all hyperbole aside - when Scott and Whitner were both hurt they moved Harris to strong safety so he would be able to step in on an emergency basis. Then suddenly 2 more linebackers got hurt and they had to move him back - but he hadn't been getting reps for a couple weeks, and he's a rookie. Plus the man he backs up is still healthy .
  2. all games in the NFL are winnable
  3. c'mon they scored a touchdown on a long drive and then got the ball on our 30 yard line. It's not like they drove 80 yards twice. You're right that if he not fumbled there was no guarantee that we would have killed the clock completely (though we'd moved the ball with relative ease all game). Even if we punted they still would have had to drive basically the length of the field with no timeouts and needing a touchdown. The chances were REALLY good that we win that game if Leodis doesn't fumble.
  4. wow, didn't realize they had Meredith starting over Chambers - not doing too bad either
  5. well at least we're injuring their best players... also good drive here let's actually get a TD
  6. April should be fired at the half. The repeated mistakes are beyond unacceptable.
  7. yet another special teams penalty. Seriously how does Bobby April still have worshipers? Is it beause some broadcasters once called him a genius?
  8. the Special teams are killing us with stupid mistakes week after week. How much slack can we give to this guy?
  9. I just don't buy it very much. Simplicity doesn't necessary equal predictability. Favre and Peyton Manning have thrived for 10+ years in offenses that are not complex - but they are designed in a way that still makes them difficult for a defense to defend.
  10. shouldn't rule out bored, insanely rich foreigners that want to run an NFL team for fun. Russia and the Middle East have tons of these mobster/oil barons and or royalty/oil barons.
  11. of any of our coordinators Fewell is the only one that deserves any shot at all. Our defense, minus 1 game this year, has done more than enough to win despite the myriad of injuries. The other two units do more to lose games than to win them.
  12. not sure why he'd be that upset or what he felt he was deserving of as a reserve barely sticking to the roster. These coaches cut guys all the time and I'm sure it's not easy. Going to a defense that he can actually play in is the best thing that ever happened to him.
  13. the Mike Nolan that got fired mid-season last year and replaced by Singletary? our D has had one bad game so far this year. They're not the problem, imo.
  14. I was thinking Shanahan's offense would be the best fit - but it'll be a bidding war between the Skins and Cowboys for him. His coaching tree is pretty bare - Kubiak is entrenched in Houston with Shanahan's son as OC. Shanahan Jr. would be more likely than the Senior I think.
  15. The offense is clearly the problem. We have a young, mobile offensive line and some weapons at receiver and running back. The players to work with - Lynch, Evans, Jackson, and the interior O-line. It seems clear that any new offense brought in with a new HC should not be tied to Edwards. He hasn't remotely proven he's worth such deference. Assuming his current performance continues nother QB should be brought in either through FA or the draft to compete with him in the new system. So, forgetting the big names that won't come here, who's out there that would be a good fit? Any coordinators-of-note not named Mularkey?
  16. wow. I hope you'd invite Hitler just so that you could make him die more painfully this time around. oh, my 3 just off the top of my head 1. Lincoln 2. FDR 3. Ernest Hemingway I think watching their interaction would be great
  17. I don't see much point in an interim coach, but if we we're so inclined I'd vote for Fewell over any of our other Assistants. His defense is the only respectable unit on the team. I'm sick of the Bobby April unrequited love - the ST's have been horrific - objectively one of the worst in the league.
  18. Kelso is really excellent. I don't hate Murphy I just wish he wasn't so dull to listen to.
  19. yeah it didn't look good to me either. But then again I wasn't standing under the goal post. I'm surprised it hasn't been a bigger subject of debate this week until now either way
  20. "This guy (Edwards) always seems to have a lot to say, so I'm going to say the same thing. Let's go. Let's get it on.'' he must be confusing him with some other player
  21. I watched much of the game. I thought it looked better than I was expecting. Not too different from a lot of NFL games that you see each week and maybe a little more wide open. I also liked how they gave behind the scenes access to the coaches, especially at half time. My primary complaint was that it was tough to tell the teams apart on my non-high def TV. It looked like both teams were wearing white jerseys and white helmets. i hope the league sticks. It's good for the NFL to be pushed a little and could give more opportunities to watch college stars that aren't necessarily NFL style players. It could be really interesting.
  22. I've never been able to even when I couldn't stand the direction the team was going. And I certainly wouldn't this early in this season. I think the sane approach is to root for them to win but just don't freak out if they lose. Others will do that for you.
  23. the only way I could stomach it is if it was the only way the team was staying in Buffalo. But if I were a player and I had options I wouldn't play for him even as a white guy. Rush is a racist, or at least he plays a racist on the radio. He tries to drum up hate for others because of their skin color and stir racial fear. Even if some owners had his politics, which I doubt they'd be so extreme, they're not trying to spread bigotry among others for money. per PFT players on other teams are saying they wouldn't play for him - Kiwanuka, Bart Scott, and, not surprisingly, McNabb he'd certainly bring a very "high motor" brand of football
  24. Haynesworth's real value is creating pressure up the middle when you only rush 4. Look at the Titans pass defense without him now that they can't get to the qb without bringing extra men? Worst in the league.
