  1. is anyone else done with their "trade lynch" phase?
  2. this thread seems to be started every other day here. I liked Rusty, but if he was so fantastic wouldn't the Bears not be marred by injuries every year?
  3. not sure players at his position really put up many stats. Mostly they hold their ground for others to make plays. But I'm not thinking the Chiefs make many plays, period.
  4. if they crack down on broadcast piracy (not really the right term since its really just online broadcasting rather than downloading NFL property to own) they also better make sure that games are more widely available through legal means without gouging the public or requiring changing cable carriers
  5. one upside is for all those that pine for the 3-4 next year. With a little more strength, Maybin should be an ideal rush linebacker.
  6. plus he has gone through all of this pretty recently with his son. Tebow needs to change the way he throws the ball to even have a prayer in the NFL, IMO.
  7. well, Maybin wasn't supposed to be according to all the draft talkingheads. The general consensus seemed to be that Orakpo was maxed out while Maybin would need a year or two but had a higher ceiling. We'll see if that pans out. one thing is for sure, we definitely needed an instant contributor (though we got them with the next 3 picks)
  8. raw, but can only do a few spoonfulls before seriously regretting it. Then fresh baked until I'm stuffed. God I love cookies.
  9. they mean field awareness, decision-making, competitiveness, guts, leadership. that kind of stuff
  10. i meant the throws they can physically make, not the ones they have the guts to attempt. Lord knows Trent wouldn't throw the ball at all if he could get away with it.
  11. I've seen quite a bit of both of them. Trent can make the throws that Tebow doesn't even bother attempting (btw I don't think Trent is good, but his problems are about 95% mental). I also think he can take hits, but in the NFL the hits are a lot more brutal because the players on defense are bigger, stronger, faster, and are all men rather than borderline teenagers. I really like Tebow as a competitor and understand those that think this will translate to the NFL - imo its gonna be a huge leap. His best chance is working nonstop on quickening his release. At least then I think he might have a chance.
  12. he has a weak arm, I think it's quite a bit weaker than Trent's. But the thing with Trent is that he has a weakish arm but with a very quick delivery. Tebow's delivery is very slow. As for his size, I think he's big enough to think he can take shots he shouldn't be taking. the SEC has tough defenses, but nothing like the size/speed combos he's going to see on Sundays.
  13. I don't care about him crying. I care that he can't throw NFL passes. the Vince Young comparison is not apt. Vince Young has a very strong arm, but a low, slowish delivery. He also has insane speed that causes big defensive problems. Tebow on the other hand has a weak arm with a very slow delivery and isn't fast enough to be a threat against NFL defenses around the edge. Tebow clearly does have a much better mentality and competitive fire than Young, but if he tries to run like he did in college he will be injured by second week of the season. He will be battered beyond recognition. His arm is like Chad Pennington's with a slower release and bad accuracy. No thanks.
  14. usually the division is far out of reach and we are just talking about wildcard positioning. also 8 games is not going to win the division as the thread states but you're right, we're not good enough at QB and too beat up on defense and the offensive line to hope to win 9 games - and often we sneak out wins just as much as we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory
  15. I agree, no one merits the first overall - though certainly that doesn't stop teams from taking them there. I do think a fair number are first rounders. Not McCoy or Tebow though. I'm not sure about Bradford.
  16. I don't think we should trade up to get anybody but if Suh's there when we pick, taking him might be a no brainer
  17. it's not about the truth of the statement - its about making it at all if you want to stab someone in the back at least leak it secretly - i mean c'mon it's just common sense
  18. good lord the Skins got screwed. Two terrible calls by the refs. They also choked badly, but wow. Apparently the officials no longer understand down by contact
  19. that's the kind of statement that will get you blackballed good luck Chuck
  20. for qb I'm liking either Claussen, Locker or Pike. Haven't seen too much of Locker throwing but what I have he seems like a young Big Ben in terms of skill set. Pike kind of reminds me of Jeff Hostetler, at least physically, with more upside. McCoy kind of reminds me of Alex Smith, but who faces higher competition. Suh is ridiculously impressive. Tebow will get killed as a QB in the NFL.
  21. I agree, if Suh's there it'll be very tough not to take him. From what I've seen he's the most talented player in the draft. Can play anywhere on the line, can play in any defense and any down and distance. Also, Schobel is getting older and Kelsay needs to go. Assuming Maybin develops physically, he and Suh would be a wicked combination for a long time.
  22. since the line is bad regardless, its even more necessary for the QB to TRY and make plays. Fitzy tries. Trent can't/won't. So the prospects of scoring plummet.
